Effect of Trunk Stabilizing Exercises on Patients With Median Sternotomy After Heart Valve Surgery

SIS
Start date: November 21, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

PURPOSE: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of trunk stabilizing exercises on sternal instability in patients with median sternotomy after heart valve surgery

NCT ID: NCT04631965 Active, not recruiting - Diabetes Clinical Trials

Healthcare Transition of Adolescents With Chronic Health Conditions

Start date: September 1, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

At least 12% of children have a chronic disease that requires regular medical follow-up after patients reach legal maturity. This international study aims to provide prospective evidence for improving health and wellbeing outcomes in this population. The primary hypothesis is that transition readiness will be more strongly associated with adherence to follow-up, fewer emergency visits and continued education than disease severity or chronological age. The secondary hypothesis is that positive experiences of care will be associated with lower levels of anxiety. Positive care experiences and low anxiety will predict better health-related quality of life during the transition period. A cohort of 504 young patients will be followed for three years. Patients have been recruited from pediatric hospitals 0-12 months prior to the transfer of care and follow-up will be completed after the patients have been followed for two years in adult healthcare.

NCT ID: NCT04624854 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

Dual Anti-Platelet Therapy in Patients With Coronary Multi-Vessel Disease (DAPT-MVD)

Start date: October 27, 2020
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study is a prospective, multicenter, parallel, open-label, randomized, controlled, superiority trial. It is planned to recruit 8,250 patients with multi-vessel disease(MVD), and the patients will be followed-up for at least 12 months after being implanted with a drug-eluting stent (DES) at one of 100 different centers. All patients will be randomly divided into the treatment group and control group on a 1:1 basis, based on a complete randomization.

NCT ID: NCT04624412 Completed - Heart Diseases Clinical Trials

Different Intensities of Continuous Aerobic Exercises in Cardiac Rehab Phase 2

Start date: September 8, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

To determine the effects of different intensities of Continuous Aerobic Exercises on Fatigue levels, Mental Well- Being & Mindfulness in Cardiac Rehab Phase 2.

NCT ID: NCT04620694 Recruiting - Cardiac Disease Clinical Trials

Impact of Arterial Cannulation Site on Vasopressor Requirement in Cardiac Surgery

ATRAP-GCS
Start date: October 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Choice of arterial cannulation site during cardiac surgery is controversial. Some physicians in our institution prefer radial artery site, others prefer aortic site (via femoral artery or brachial artery). The investigators aim to compare these two strategies for vasopressor requirement. The study hypothesis is that radial artery cannulation is associated with a larger dose of vasopressor due aortic to radial arterial pressure gradient phenomenon.

NCT ID: NCT04618718 Completed - Clinical trials for Valvular Heart Disease

The PROTEMBO C Trial

Start date: July 31, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The PROTEMBO C Trial is an international, multi-center, single arm, non-inferiority study of the safety and performance of using the ProtEmbo System for cerebral embolic protection in subjects with severe native aortic valve stenosis indicated for TAVR.

NCT ID: NCT04616118 Completed - Cardiac Disease Clinical Trials

Comparing Modes of Telehealth Delivery: Phone vs. Video Visits (ASSIST)

Start date: May 27, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Given the current public health crisis the use of telehealth consultation visits including phone-only and video visits has exponentially increased. This study will investigate if the conduct of telehealth phone only visits is non-inferior in terms of patient satisfaction/experience, adherence to post-visit recommendations such as medications, blood work and other medical testing, follow up care, when compared to the conduct of video delivered telehealth visits. Patients will be randomized to receive a routine care visit via phone only vs. video.

NCT ID: NCT04613934 Completed - Clinical trials for Congenital Heart Disease

Redesigning the Care Journey of Patients With Single-ventricle Congenital Heart Disease

Start date: February 4, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In this three-party collaboration, which includes The Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, the Value Institute for Health and Care, and the Design Institute for Health, all from University of Texas (UT) Dell Medical School, the investigators will explore how patient insights, data, storytelling, ideation, and prototyping can be employed to design a care delivery solution that enables patient outcome improvement. The goal of this project is to understand the life journey of patients with single-ventricle congenital heart disease and understand areas of that journey that can be improved. As such, the project intentionally does not start with a hypothesis, but instead seeks to gain insight of single-ventricle patients' care journey and based on that understanding identify opportunities for improvement.

NCT ID: NCT04613167 Recruiting - Inflammation Clinical Trials

Markers of Cardiovascular Risk in Patients With Premature Coronary Artery Disease and Treatment

GEBI
Start date: November 10, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of study is to examine the relationship between lipid subfractions, inflammation and structural-functional properties of the arterial wall in patients with premature coronary heart disease, to study genetic polymorphisms that determine lipid subfractions concentration on the functional and morphological properties of the arterial vascular wall in patients with early coronary heart disease, to study the effect of alirocumab and evolocumab on lipid subfractions, inflammation and structural-functional properties of arterial wall in patients with early coronary atherosclerosis and to study the influence of NOS-3 gene expression on the functional and morphological properties of the arterial vascular wall in the same patients. Impaired blood fat metabolism and chronic inflammation are intertwined as possible causes of atherosclerosis. Lipoprotein (a) (Lp (a)) is an important risk factor for coronary heart disease and a prognostic predictor in patients after myocardial infarction, but recent research suggests that subtilisin-kexin convertase type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitors are the only drugs that significantly reduce serum Lp (a) concentration. However, there are no data on the relationship between Lp (a) values and polymorphisms for Lp (a), indicators of inflammation and impaired arterial function, and response to treatment with various PCSK9 inhibitors in patients with early coronary heart disease.

NCT ID: NCT04612140 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Ventricular Tachycardia
