The Impact of an Innovative eHealth Transition Intervention on Self-Management Skills Among Young Adults With Congenital Heart Disease

Congenital heart disease (CHD) survivors constitute one of the fastest growing populations in adult cardiology practices. This population is vulnerable to gaps in care, particularly as they graduate from the pediatric to adult healthcare system. Their healthcare needs are complex, and preparing this population for transfer to adult care is a resource-intense process. This trial will evaluate the use of the MyREADY Transition CHD app against a nurse-led one-time intervention in clinic. Participants will be 16-17 year olds who attend a cardiology outpatient clinic. The app will allow young adults to learn about their heart condition and about self-management skills in the context of adult healthcare by using the app for 18 months. The nurse-led intervention will cover similar topics, but in a one-time in-person session with a clinic nurse. Outcomes: The primary outcome is change in Transition Readiness Assessment Questionnaire (TRAQ) score over time. Secondary outcomes are change in the MyHeart Score and the General Self-Efficacy (GSE) score. These questionnaires will be answered by all participants at regular intervals (enrollment, 1 month, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months) throughout the trial. The trial will also consider time to the first adult cardiology appointment, cost of the interventions, and will conduct interviews with participants in the app group to learn about their experiences using the app.

The purpose of this study is to observe conduction disturbance, daily activity level, heart rates, oxygen saturation in patients who underwent Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and to evaluate the utility of the HUAWEI Watch (HUAWEI Technologies Co., Ltd., Shenzhen, China) for the potential early warning sign of changes in multiple biometric parameters including heart rate, rhythm, oxygen saturation, activity, and sleep in patients following TAVR. This will be evaluated in the context of a recently implemented early discharge protocol.

Myocardial Perfusion Imaging by 15O-H2O PET/CT

The trial will include 5000 patients with evident or suspected ischemic heart disease refered to Department of Nuclear Medicine & PET Centre, Aarhus University Hospital, for perfusion imaging by 15O-H2O PET/CT scan of the heart during rest and stress. The patients will undergo the clinical scan as normal. Data from the scans will be used to determine reference values of the examination. Follow up will be done for up to 10 years in regards to major cardiovascular events in order to determine the prognostic value of the scan.

Sequelae of Sars-CoV-2 Infections

By the end of 2019 a new coronavirus, named SARS-CoV-2, was discovered in patients with pneumonia in Wuhan, China. In the following weeks and months the virus spread globally, having a tremendous impact on global health and economy. To date, no vaccine or therapy is available. Severe courses of the infection not only affect the lungs, but also other organs like the heart, kidney, or liver. The lack of preexisting immunity might at least partially explain the affection of extra pulmonary organs not yet seen in infections due to other respiratory viruses. In this observational investigation the study group will follow up on patients that have been hospitalized due to a SARS-CoV-2 infection, and monitor sequelae in various organs, with an emphasis on the pulmo-cardiovascular system. Our that in some patients, organ damage will persist and require long-term medical care.

Improving Patient and Family Health Using Family-Centered Outcomes and Shared Decision-Making

This study is a randomized clinical trial where participants (parents of a fetus or neonate diagnosed with a life-threatening congenital heart disease (CHD)) will randomly be assigned to either receiving a web-based decision aid (DA) alone, or receiving the decision aid that includes a values clarification exercise. Because of the novel use of decision aids in CHD in an acute setting, we will also compare participants receiving the DA in a randomized control trial to a prospective observational population of families faced with similar decisions without a DA (control group). We have designated the Brief Symptom Inventory Global Severity Index of Global Distress 3 months post-birth or death/termination as our primary outcome measure.

Multivessel TALENT is a prospective, randomized, multi-center study comparing clinical outcomes between SUPRAFLEX Cruz and SYNERGY in approximately 1550 patients with de-novo three vessel disease undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Patients will be treated according to "state of art PCI"; not only treatment strategies based on the latest ESC guideline, such as SYNTAX Score II recommendation, Heart Team discussion, post-procedure intravascular imaging optimization, cholesterol reduction by statin or PCSK-9 inhibitor, but also exploratory treatment strategies based on the latest evidence, such as physiological assessment using quantitative flow ratio and prasugrel monotherapy following 1-month dual antiplatelet therapy after PCI.
