Step Into Support for Endurance and Strength (SISTERS)

The Step into Support for Endurance and Strength (SISTERS) research study is evaluating whether a mobile health game designed to increase physical activity is feasible and acceptable in patients with gynecologic cancers. -SISTERS is testing a mobile health intervention can help increase physical activity. Participants will be randomized to receive either 1) a Fitbit or 2) a Fitbit + a game + help from a friend or family member whom you chose will help the participant reach their goals. (i.e. a Teammate).

Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Gynecological Oncology

The current infection with the Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) is an exceptional health situation which requires an adaptation of our management practices in gynecological oncology. Data from the literature suggest that infection with Coronavirus is serious in subjects with cancer with a risk of severe form 5 times higher than that of the population without cancer and a risk of death multiplied by 8. In addition, the risk of infection would be 3 times greater in case of cancer. Faced with the COVID-19 epidemic, the investigator must organize themselves to ensure continuity in the treatment of patients with gynecological cancer but also adapt our practices in the management (CPR, teleconsultation, adaptation of treatment or even postponement of treatment). The objective of the High Council of Public Health is to be able to ensure adequate oncological care avoiding any potential loss of chance concerning the care of cancer: people affected must, despite the pandemic, have care allowing the same level of curability (localized cancers) or the same life expectancy (advanced cancers). This must be done by limiting as much as possible the impact on the organization of the service, the organization of patient follow-up and the psychological impact that these possible modifications could have. The hypotheses of our study are that the exceptional health situation linked to this pandemic leads to a change in the care of patients with gynecological cancer associated with a psychological impact and increased anxiety of patients during their care. Despite the extent of the pandemic, very little existing data makes it possible to define recommendations with a sufficient level of evidence.

Feasibility Study for Ultrasound-Guided Interstitial Brachytherapy for Gynecological CancersV2

Brachytherapy treatment in gynecological cancers is an essential component to delivering adequate doses of radiation to a tumour while sparing normal tissue. Interstitial and intracavitary brachytherapy is often needed in advanced or recurrent disease, in cases where intrauterine brachytherapy may not deliver the optimal outcome. Interstitial brachytherapy is based on a defined template-and-needle system, and the procedure relies on clinical examination and pre-treatment imaging to guide needle insertion. There is currently no standard image-guided process to help direct needles in the pelvis. The investigators propose a 3D ultrasound device that will provide real-time imaging for the brachytherapy procedure which will aid in avoiding needle insertion into pelvic organs and result in optimal dose coverage to the tumour.

This study examine the feasibility and efficacy of Avanzando Juntas, a four-month community-based lifestyle intervention rooted in the evidence-based Moving Forward lifestyle intervention developed with and for AA breast cancer survivors. This intervention was adapted in collaboration with Hispanic/Latina BC & GC survivors. It will offer twice-weekly sessions aimed at supporting adherence to ACS nutrition and physical activity guidelines to promote weight loss and improved quality of life.

Quality of Life After Robotic Surgery for Endometrial Cancer

The purpose of this study is to investigate how robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery affects the quality of life of women who are treated with primary surgery for endometrial cancer. So far, very little has been published and basically no long-term follow-up. Included patients respond to questionnaires preoperatively, 2 weeks after surgery and 3 months and 12 months after surgery. Each patient thus answers the questionnaires (the same) on four occasions. The questionnaires used are validated and used extensively internationally. The first survey has two parts, QLQ30 and the module for endometrial cancer EN24. In addition the study includes use PHQ -9 and GAD 7.

Investigating the Effects of Atezolizumab in People Whose Tumour DNA or RNA Indicates Possible Sensitivity

This study will investigate the effects of atezolizumab on select cancer types in people whose analysis of tumour DNA and RNA indicates they may be sensitive to atezolizumab. This study aims to determine if the information from the cancer genome analysis corresponds with the effects of atezolizumab on individuals and their cancer. This is a Phase 2 study, which is undertaken after preliminary safety testing on a drug is completed, and will involve approximately 200 participants. Participants are assigned to one of 8 cohorts based on their primary tumour type: breast, lung, gastrointestinal (GI), primary unknown, genitourinary (GU), sarcoma, gynecological, and 'other' cancer types. Participants in all cohorts will receive the same dose of atezolizumab (1200 mg every 3 weeks). In the first stage for each cohort, 8 participants will be enrolled and if no participants respond to treatment, enrollment to that cohort will be closed. If 1 or more participants respond to treatment, up to 16 additional participants will be enrolled to that cohort. Participants continue on treatment until they no longer may benefit from the treatment or they decide to stop treatment.
