NCT ID: NCT00926133 Active, not recruiting - Type 2 Diabetes Clinical Trials

Type 2 Diabetes and Acute Myocardial Infarction

Start date: November 2005
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The present study was designed to determine the prevalence of previously unknown impaired glucose tolerance and type 2 diabetes in patients with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction subjected to acute PCI. Secondary, a possible association between inflammation, haemostasis and abnormal glucose regulation was studied.

NCT ID: NCT00852982 Active, not recruiting - Type 2 Diabetes Clinical Trials

Exercise Effects on Cardiovascular Risk Factors, Quality of Life, Muscle Function in Type 2 Diabetes and Healthy Persons

SMIDIG
Start date: April 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A sedentary lifestyle is known to be a risk factor to developing type 2 diabetes. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of adding regular Nordic walking to daily physical activity. Effects on quality of life, cardiovascular risk factors and functions in muscle cells will be determined.

NCT ID: NCT00787215 Active, not recruiting - Diabetes Clinical Trials

A Survey on the Rate of Glucose Intolerance in Hong Kong Chinese

Start date: November 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Hypothesis: There is a high rate of glucose intolerance among Hong Kong Chinese. The investigators plan to screen Hong Kong Chinese from the community with oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). The subjects will be referred from GP centers in the community and self-referred with public advertisement on this survey.

NCT ID: NCT00786890 Active, not recruiting - Prediabetes Clinical Trials

A Survey to Evaluate the Cardiovascular Risk Status of Subjects With Pre-Diabetes in Hong Kong

JADE-HK2
Start date: November 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Hypothesis: A high cardiovascular risk is present in subjects with pre-diabetes in Hong Kong Chinese. The investigators plan to assess Chinese subjects in Hong Kong who have pre-diabetes (impaired fasting glucose, IFG; or impaired glucose tolerance, IGT) based on oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) on their cardiovascular risk status such as obesity, hypertension and lipid profile.

NCT ID: NCT00687466 Active, not recruiting - Cystic Fibrosis Clinical Trials

Study on the Efficacy of Slow Release Insulin in Cystic Fibrosis Patients With Glucide Intolerance and Clinical Decay

Start date: August 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether the anticipated use of glargine in CF patients with glucose intolerance may prevent the worsening of nutritional status and pulmonary function.
