NCT ID: NCT05405842 Not yet recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

Transauricular Vagal Nerve Stimulation; Functional Dyspepsia and Gastroparesis

AVNS
Start date: May 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this study is to establish parameters of gastric myoelectrical activity and heart rate variability in healthy human subjects and compare and contrast them to those with gastroparesis and functional dyspepsia, at baseline and following taVNS.

NCT ID: NCT05357430 Recruiting - Gastroenterology Clinical Trials

The Application of Remazolam in Gastroenteroscopy

Start date: March 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

OBJECTIVE: To study the safety, efficacy and clinical significance of remimazolam in the diagnosis and treatment of elderly obese patients with daytime gastrointestinal endoscopy, calculate the optimal dose, and conduct relevant verification. Provide a safer and more effective anesthesia solution for the growing special population. METHODS:Around 160 patients were selected to receive painless gastroenteroscopy.,they were divided into four groups of D1, D2, R and C. Group D1 and D2(including 60 patients) were used to calculate the ED50 and ED95 of the drug. According to up-and-down method, they were slowly injected 0.3μg/kg of remifentanil in advance, then 0.20mg/kg of remimazolam, and gastroscopy was performed after MOAA/S score ≤3. The next patient would be increased 0.05mg/kg of remimazolam if there is a positive standrd, otherwise it would be decreased 0.05mg/kg. And the study was terminated when seven crossing points occurred. One hundred patients were randomly divided into two groups of R and C.Before administration of remimazolam, remifentanil injection 0.3 μg/kg were given intravenously in two groups, respectively (injection rate was 30 s).Then group R was given the calculated dose of remimazolam, and group C was given propofol 1.5-2mg/kg.The success rate of sedation, changes in vital signs, adverse reactions, and postoperative recovery were recorded in the two groups.

NCT ID: NCT04692792 Completed - Gastroenterology Clinical Trials

Efficacy Evaluation of Dai Dai Flower on Body Weight

Start date: January 4, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

To assess the Dai Dai flower extract on body weight control

NCT ID: NCT04268901 Recruiting - Pain Clinical Trials

VR to Reduce Pain/Anxiety During Painful Procedures

Start date: February 19, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to test the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) as a non-pharmaceutical intervention to reduce pain and anxiety in children undergoing painful procedures in Phlebotomy, Radiology, Infusion, Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, and Immunology, amongst others, at CHLA, as measured by self- and proxy-report. Examples of the painful procedures include IV sticks, cast removals, allergy testing, and anorectal manometries.

NCT ID: NCT03616444 Completed - Gastroenterology Clinical Trials

A Randomized Clinical Trial of Shenbai Granules in Reducing Recurrence of Colorectal Adenoma

Start date: December 3, 2018
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study evaluates Shenbai Granules in Prevention of Colorectal Adenomatous Polyp Recurrence After Colonoscopy.Half of participants will receive Shenbai Granules, while the other half will receive a placebo.

NCT ID: NCT02979509 Completed - Gastroenterology Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Diagnostic Yield of EUS-Guided Tissue Sampling

Start date: June 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

All patients will receive standard medical care and no experimental interventions will be performed. Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) is a well-established procedure commonly used for the investigation of lesions within or adjacent to the gastrointestinal (GI) lumen (i.e. pancreas, liver, mediastinal masses, left adrenal gland, lymph nodes, and subepithelial lesions). EUS-guided tissue sampling has been commonly performed with different size and types of aspiration and core biopsy needles.

NCT ID: NCT01827241 Recruiting - Gastroenterology Clinical Trials

Outcome of Colonoscopy Screening and Surveillance

Start date: September 2011
Phase:
Study type: Observational

With this study, we plan to review the performance of colonoscopy in colon cancer screening and surveillance, especially with the recent improvements in endoscopic technology (high definition endoscopes), use of split dose preparation which provides excellent colon preparation for detection of lesions and increasing awareness and detection of flat lesions of the colon. The findings will help us define the role of colonoscopy screening of colon polyps and flat lesions and identity areas for improvement. The data will be used for continuing quality improvement and presenting our outcomes at academic meetings and publishing our results in peer reviewed journals.

NCT ID: NCT01079624 Completed - Physiology Clinical Trials

GIP and GLP-1 on Gastric Emptying, Appetite and Insulin-glucose

GIP-GLP-gas
Start date: August 2006
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Academic phase 1 study which investigates the effects of the two incretin hormones glucose-insulinotropic peptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) on gastric emptying, appetite, insulin release and glucose disposal in the body. The hypothesis is that incretin hormones not only stimulate insulin release but also inhibits gastric emptying. This effect can be utilized for further drug development.
