Filter by:Objective: This research was conducted to evaluate the effect of web-based education on psychomotor skills teaching and information levels in nursing students. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted as a randomized controlled clinical trial. The universe of the research consisted of first-year students of the nursing department of a university. The sample of the study consisted of 90 students, experimental and control group. At the beginning of the study, the drug administration course was explained theoretically to all students. Psychomotor skill teaching was demonstrated to both groups in the laboratory with demonstration technique. Then, pre-test data were collected. Students in the experimental group were given a link to the web page where they could watch the clinical knowledge and skills teaching video and a user profile was created. The students had the opportunity to watch and repeat the training videos and lecture notes as much as they wanted for two weeks. In the last stage, the knowledge and skill level of both groups was measured again and post-test data were collected. In order to collect data, intravenous-intramuscular injection skill checklists and drug administration knowledge tests created by the researchers were used.
Although face-to-face education is widely used as a traditional method, emerging computer technology has allowed new training approaches such as video-based training (VBT) platforms to flourish, especially in the last four decades. Educators adopted VBT as a cost-effective and accessible medium to address some of their training needs. It contains purposely designed visual cues and draws learners' attention during the learning process, and the dynamic details enable learners to better understand the learning contents. The use of new technologies such as e-learning, computer-assisted learning, VBT, and web-based applications for clinical skill education has increased learner satisfaction compared with conventional education methods. Preoperative patient preparation is a crucial element of preoperative nursing care. A surgical nurse is a specialized coordinator of patient care, and the main purposes of this role are to meet the patient's and the family's needs individually and to prepare them for the scheduled procedure and postoperative recovery. Preoperative patient preparation contains multiple components and steps such as preoperative education, including physical, social, psychological, and legal preparation, and preparation for the night and day of surgery. the nature of the process has many components and steps, it is not easy for students to learn this subject, and nursing educators were able to experience this in a clinical practice environment. And the educators started to search for new teaching techniques to teach this subject like the other colleagues. the investigator's aim in this project is to determine the effect of VBT on the knowledge levels of nursing students on preoperative patient preparation when compared to traditional training methods.

Obesity is a disease that poses a health risk and is increasing worldwide. Bariatric surgery is the most effective method used in the treatment of obesity. Preoperative health education for bariatric surgery patients is important to support surgery. There is not enough nursing research in the literature regarding training patients with two different materials before bariatric surgery. The purpose of the randomized controlled experimental study designed in light of this information was to determine the effect of education given to patients with two different materials before bariatric surgery on early complications. The rates of the study were determined by randomizing trial I, trial II, and control treatment in 66 rooms that met the interval and study screening criteria offered between May 2022 and June 2023 in the general surgery service of a university hospital. Data from the research; was collected with the Veria Total Form, Autar Risk Assessment Scale, Apfel Risk Score, Visual Comparison Scale-VAS (Visual Analog Scale-VAS), Training Satisfaction Survey, and Complication Monitoring Form. In the first face-to-face meeting in the experimental groups, we were given training by the researcher with the removable Training Booklet I and Training Booklet II and were monitored until discharge. No control group training was given.

This study was conducted as a randomized controlled study to determine the effect of digital stories prepared with a digital audio file (podcast) on learning in midwifery education. The study was carried out with Kocaeli University Midwifery 3rd grade students. Between October 3 and October 7, 2022, which is the beginning of Kocaeli University 2022-2023 academic year academic calendar, a meeting was held with students about working outside the classroom. The study was completed with 65 students as experimental (n=33) and control group (n=32). Data were collected with participant information form, knowledge test, digital stories evaluation questionnaire prepared with digital audio file (podcast). These stories, which consist of three parts about preparation for natural birth, ideal birth environment and natural birth, were recorded in an appropriate environment and quality, accompanied by a trainer who is an expert in digital audio files (podcast) designs. The knowledge test was applied as a pre-test in the first encounter with the students who accepted the study. Digital stories were sent to the students in the experimental group in the form of e-mails. At the end of the unit, a post-test was administered to both groups. Again, 21 days later, the study was completed by conducting a retention test (knowledge test) and a digital story evaluation questionnaire prepared with a digital audio file (podcast) for both groups. After the study, digital stories prepared with a digital audio file (podcast) were sent to all students in the control group who completed the study, allowing the students to reinforce the subject. While evaluating the findings in the study, Number Cruncher Statistical System 2020 Statistical Software (NCSS LLC, Kaysville, Utah, USA) program was used for statistical analysis. While evaluating the research data, quantitative variables were shown with mean, standard deviation, median, min and max values, and qualitative variables were shown with descriptive statistical methods such as frequency and percentage. Shapiro Wilks test and Box Plot plots were used to evaluate the suitability of the data for normal distribution. Student's t-test, Mann Whitney-U test, Kruskal Wallis test, Dunn test, Spearman correlation analysis, linear regression, chi-square test, Fisher's Exact test, Isher's Exact test and Fisher Freeman Halton and F test were used. The results were evaluated at 95% confidence interval and p<0.05 significance level.
Objective: This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of education on breastfeeding and basic maternal-neonatal care and mobile message support given to primiparous women in the postpartum period on breastfeeding and motherhood experiences. Methods: This prospective randomized controlled study was conducted in a hospital located in a city in Turkiye, with 130 primiparous patients in the postpartum period (65 individuals in the experimental group and 65 individuals in the control group). Participants in the experimental group were provided with education on "Breastfeeding and Basic Maternal-Neonatal Care" at the hospital and mobile messages were sent with the same content as education program for 6 weeks after discharge.
This research was conducted to evaluate the impact of the Problem Solving and Decision Making Training program, which was developed to enhance the problem-solving and decision-making skills of nurse managers at the lower, middle, and upper levels, by the subordinates and superiors of nurse managers. To assess the problem-solving and decision-making skills of nurse managers as perceived by their subordinates, the Problem-Solving Inventory-Managerial Version (PSI-MV) and Decision-Making Styles Scale-Managerial Version (DMSS-MV) underwent adaptation, validity, and reliability studies. These studies aimed to enable the evaluation of nurse managers' problem-solving and decision-making abilities from the perspective of their subordinates.
