New Treatment for COVID-19 Using Ethanol Vapor Inhalation .

Since ARDS is a major complication of COVID - 19 with subsequent formation of non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema , worsening the oxygenation of the patients and foamy and even bloody sputum formation, so the idea is to use alcohol inhalation as it reduce surface tension on the alveoli and markedly decrease sputum formation with improvement on oxygenation beside its cytolethal effect on virus lipid bilayer. A lot of researches and publications proved the role of alcohol inhalation in treatment of pulmonary edema. Alcohol inhalation may has inflammatory effect and dangerous effect on patients but this can be controlled by the actual concentration used and the way we use it according to general condition of the patient and with the help of anti - inflammatory action of Asprin .

Assessment of Mortality Rates in COVID-19 Infected Populations Treated With Repurposed Medications

This retrospective cohort study will include eligible patients that received a positive COVID-19 test and filled a new prescription for one of the repurposed medications (including hydroxychloroquine, chloroquine, with or without azithromycin) for the treatment of COVID-19 at a PrescribeWellness pharmacy. The study will use de-identified data collected from February 1, 2020 to start of study. The data set will include: repurposed medication name, strength, and dose; age (age limit set at 89 years old); gender; provider type; zip code (excludes 17 three-digit zip code tabulation areas that have a population of 20,000 or fewer persons); conditions; mortality; and a list of concomitant prescriptions.

Efficacy and Safety of Eltrombopag + Tacrolimus in Chinese Refractory or Relapsed Aplastic Anemia Patients

This is a randomized, open-label, phase II study to compare the efficacy of eltrombopag combined with tacrolimus to eltrombopag alone in Chinese subjects with refractory or relapsed aplastic anemia. The safety would also be evaluated. Patients would be randomized to receive eltrombopag alone or eltrombopag combined with tacrolimus. Treatment with eltrombopag will be started at 25 mg/day and increased by 25 mg/day every 2 weeks according to the platelet count up to 150 mg/day, or the best response was achieved. Tacrolimus will be given at 1mg bid with the target trough concentration of 4-10 ng/mL throughout the study. The hematological response rate and safety will be recorded and compared at 3, 6 months and 1 year after starting the study treatment (Week 13, 26 and 52).

New Antiviral Drugs for Treatment of COVID-19

Background: In December 2019, SARS-CoV-2 was isolated on Vero E6 and Huh7 cell lines after an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Since the basis for pathogenesis of this virus and its proliferation is unclear, there is still no definitive treatment or vaccine against it. Thus, medications used against SARS-CoV-2 are mainly based on their effectiveness on in vitro studies, virtual screenings and records of their effects on earlier strains of coronavirus, SARS and MERS. Therefore, the immediate introduction of potential COVID-19 treatments can be essential and salvaging. Aim: to compare the rate and time of viral clearance in subjects receiving the combination of Nitazoxanide, Ribavirin and Ivermectin vs. those control group (without any intervention). Methods: a sequential clinical trial in this design sample size is not fixed in advance. Instead data will be evaluated as they are collected, and further sampling is will be stopped in accordance with a pre-defined stopping rule as soon as significant results are observed. After "n" (10 subjects in each group) subjects in each group are available an interim analysis will be conducted. A statistical test will be performed to compare the two groups and if the null hypothesis is rejected the trial is terminated; otherwise, the trial continues, another n subjects per group will be recruited, and the statistical test is performed again, including all subjects. If the null is rejected, the trial is terminated, and otherwise it continues with periodic evaluations until a maximum number of interim analyses have been performed, at which point the last statistical test is conducted and the trial is discontinued [25]. Outcome: The combination of Nitazoxanide, Ribavirin, Ivermectin and Zinc could be effective in clearance of COVID 19. KEY WOARD: COVID-19; clinical trial; corona virus

This project investigates the anti-obesity mechanisms of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogs, which are used in the treatment of human obesity and diabetes mellitus. The investigators will test if GLP-1 induces secretion of interleukin-6 (IL-6), a cytokine that may collaborate with GLP-1 analogs to induce the formation of brown fat, which has anti-diabetic properties. The results will guide future obesity and diabetes mellitus therapies.

Effect of Ginkgo Biloba Capsule on Visual Function of Primary Open-angle Glaucoma With Blood Stasis Syndrome

Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (POAG) is an eye disease that causes optic nerve damage, visual field defect, and blindness caused by increased intraocular pressure. In recent years, many studies have shown that ginkgo biloba extract has a protective effect on the visual function of glaucoma patients. Studies have shown that Ginkgo biloba capsules can improve the visual field damage of glaucoma controlled by intraocular pressure;Ginkgo biloba capsule can promote the recovery of visual evoked potential of glaucoma controlled by intraocular pressure; the improvement of visual field has a certain correlation with visual electrophysiological recovery. The mechanism may be achieved by suppressing the influx of calcium ions and thereby inhibiting the apoptosis of cells. Therefore, in this clinical study, effect of Ginkgo biloba capsule on visual function of primary open-angle glaucoma with blood stasis syndrome was evaluated by placebo as control.

Any adverse events related to AD-MSCs infusion will be monitored.The primary outcome is the reduction rate of PASI(Psoriasis Area and Severity Index) and treatment response will be computed from PASI before and after treatment.
