Efficacy of Audio Recorded Guided Imagery vs Deep Breathing Exercises on Functional Gastrointestinal Pain Disorders

The purpose of this study is to: 1. Determine if audio recorded guided imagery vs deep breathing exercises delivered via a digital media player improves abdominal pain symptoms in children with functional gastrointestinal pain disorders managed in the primary care setting. 2. Determine if audio recorded guided imagery and deep breathing exercises delivered via a digital media player improves psychosocial distress in children affected by functional gastrointestinal pain disorders managed in the primary care setting. The possibility of treating functional gastrointestinal pain disorders using remotely delivered psychosocial therapies has the potential to treat many children affected by functional gastrointestinal pain disorders in a cost-effective manner. This study will provide insight into how well these patients in the primary care could benefit from such interventions.

Epidemiological Screening of IL10RA Mutation Rate in China

The presentation of IBD in early childhood is uncommon and the monogenetic defects, especially IL-10 signaling pathway play a key role in very early onset inflammatory bowel disease (VEO-IBD). IL-10 or IL-10R deficiency associated VEO-IBD is considered a rare disorder. To date, there were about 60 cases were reported all over the word. But in our Chinese VEO-IBD Collaboration Group, 42 patients with biallelic mutations affecting IL10R genes were identified from 93 VEO-IBD patients, and the mutation sites are highly concentrated, including 83.9% (26/31) with p.R101W and 55% p.T179T (17/31) mutation, and the proportion of patients from Henan( A province of China) is higher. So we speculate that IL-10RA mutation may not be very rare, and the frequency of heterozygote subjects might be higher than suspected.

Patients will be followed up to end of clinic treatment and 12 months beyond the end of treatment. Symptoms, quality of life, costs to the healthcare system and psychological outcomes will be assessed.

Pepsin in Patients With Functional Dyspepsia

This non-interventional, observational study investigates the course of symptoms in patients with functional dyspepsia under treatment with a fixed combination of pepsin and amino acid hydrochloride over a period of approximately 6 weeks. The change of the Gastrointestinal Symptom Score (GIS©) was the primary parameter for the assessment of efficacy and was performed at baseline, after 3 and 6 weeks of treatment respectively. Safety measures included recording of AEs and physical examination as well as measurement of vital signs. The aim was to observe 100 patients during the course of this non-interventional study.

Blood Pressure During ESD is Related With the Postoperative Bleeding

Endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD) is a prominent minimally invasive operation technique for treating early gastrointestinal tumor. But promoting ESD is uneasy because of its complications such as postoperative bleeding, perforation and so on. So if we decrease the rate of postoperative bleeding, ESD might be better popularized. Some study indicated that hypertension was the independent risk factor of postoperative bleeding. Endoscopic center of Fudan University Zhongshan Hospital is a rich experienced medical unit in doing ESD operation in China. Referring to our experience, if we can use some special methods to find the potential bleeding spot which is not obvious during ESD operation and we coagulate it precisely, then we may control the risk of postoperative bleeding. Based on the above hypothesis, our team designed this study to examine whether increasing blood pressure during gastric ESD could help to control the risk of postoperative bleeding.

Endoscopic Resection Multicenter Registry

This is a retrospective and prospective multicenter registry to collect long-term data (1 year) on patients who have or will undergo Endoscopic resection such as EMR, ESD, EFTR, STER, etc. within the gastrointestinal tract for endoscopic treatment of early gastrointestinal neoplasms involving the resection of the superficial layers, mucosa and submucosa, of the tract wall. Subjects will be consented for medical chart review. The purpose of this retrospective and prospective registry is to assess long term data on efficacy, safety and clinical outcome of Endoscopic Resection within the gastrointestinal tract (1 year). The registry will evaluate efficacy, technical feasibility, clinical outcome, safety profile and overall clinical management through medical chart review. The procedures the investigators are evaluating are all clinically indicated and will not be prescribed to someone to participate in this registry study.

Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) is a major human pathogenic bacterium in gastric mucosa which is linked to the development of gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma and gastric cancer. However the regulatory mechanism of H.pylori-induced immune response is not clear. Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) has recently emerged as key post-transcriptional regulators of gene expression, differentiation. The investigators had a preliminary results which THRIL (TNFα and hnRNPL related immunoregulatory lincRNA) and PACER(p50-associated COX-2 extragenic RNA) played a potential role in H.pylori induced inflammatory cascade. However, there wasn't a previous study about expression of THRIL, PACER in a human tissue. Therefore, the investigators aimed to evaluate the expression of THRIL, PACER in patients with gastrointestinal disease according to H.pylori infection.
