View clinical trials related to Depression, Postpartum.
Filter by:Postpartum depression refers to the depression after childbirth, which is a common mental disorder in women. The pathogenesis of postpartum depression is not fully understood, and may be related to a variety of factors. Prenatal depression is an important risk factor for postpartum depression. Our recent multicenter randomized controlled trial, "Effect of Low-dose esketamine on the incidence of postpartum depression in women with prenatal depression", explored the effect of immediate postpartum intravenous infusion of low-dose esketamine on the incidence of postpartum depression in women with prenatal depression. The preliminary results showed that it reduced the incidence of postpartum depression at 42 days. Since there were no studies on the effect of intravenous esketamine infusion after delivery on long-term postpartum depression, this study is a long-term follow-up of the previous randomized trial. We aim to explore the effect of low-dose intravenous esketamine after delivery on the incidence of 2-year maternal depression after delivery in women with prenatal depressive symptoms.
This study is a 6-month follow-up study to WB001-001 conducted to assess and evaluate the durability of the effect of {WB001+TAU} beyond the 8-week treatment period.
The objective of this study is to design and validate an online intervention aimed at promoting well-being in women with postpartum depression. For this, the design of a multicomponent protocol consisting of empirically validated positive interventions and comparing these with a group Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is proposed, following the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommendations for the treatment of depression. Participants will be screened for inclusion in the program if they meet clinical criteria. After that, they will be randomly assigned to a CBT group or a positive psychology intervention (PPI) group.
The feeding process is based on a mutual relationship and interaction, as it takes place with the active participation of the child and the parent. Feeding problems are among the most common behavioral problems in early childhood. Inappropriate eating habits can cause growth retardation, unhealthy food preferences, and obesity. Parent-child interaction during feeding is particularly important in developing healthy feeding behavior. The aim of this study is to evaluate the interaction between mother and child during feeding, by using the Feeding Scale in Turkish children aged 6-36 months. A cross sectional, observational study will be conducted to explore mother-child relationship during feeding period by using Chatoor Feeding Scale.
Title: "Feasibility and acceptability study of "Mamá, te entiendo": an app-based intervention for reducing depressive symptoms in postpartum women" Funding: This work was funded by the Chilean National Agency of Research and Development (ANID Doctorado Nacional 2019 - 21190745). General objective: To assess the feasibility and acceptability of a guided 8-week cognitive-behavioral app-based intervention for Chilean postpartum women with depressive symptoms. Design: A small-scale parallel 2-arms trial will be conducted. Postpartum women with minor or major depression will be randomized to the app-based intervention or waitlist. The primary outcomes are feasibility and acceptability variables, mainly; recruitment and eligibility rates, intervention and study adherence, and participants' intervention satisfaction, use, and engagement. Semi-structured interviews with a sub-sample will provide more information about the participants' experience with the intervention. Women's depression diagnostic status will be assessed at pre-treatment, post-treatment, and 1-month follow-up. Other secondary outcomes will include participants' perceived social support, mother-infant bonding, and maternal satisfaction and self-efficacy.
Public Health Nurses (PHN) received training to deliver a day-long Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)-based workshop for treating postpartum depression (PPD). Participants in the study are randomly assigned to the treatment group (1-day CBT workshop) or control group (usual postnatal care). Data will be collected from all participants at baseline, 3 and 6 months. The study will aim to determine if online day-long CBT-based workshops delivered by public health nurses can be added to treatment as usual to improve postpartum depression more than treatment as usual alone, iif the workshops are cost-effective, and if the workshops can stably improve depression, its common comorbidities and reduce adverse effects on the family. Hypotheses: Online 1-Day CBT-Based Workshops delivered by PHNs will be an effective (and cost-effective) way to stably improve PPD, its comorbidities, and reduce its adverse effects on the family.
Postpartum depression (PPD) is one of the most common psychiatric complications of pregnancy and postpartum. It is often defined as an episode of depressive disorder that occurs in the postpartum period. Evidence suggests that PPD has serious consequences on the quality of life of all family members, increases the risk for familial conflicts, leaving great negative effects on maternal-infant interaction. The aim of our study was to investigate and shed the light on the determinants of development of PPD mainly maternal age among women in Jordan. We also aimed at examining additional factors on prevalence of PPD and providing more information on PPD among Jordanian mothers.
The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed healthcare delivery; arguably, the fields of obstetrics and pediatrics have experienced some of the greatest changes as they have transitioned away from their role as a medical home and into more of an urgent care model of care. Baby2Home is a digital health intervention designed to bridge the resultant gaps in obstetrics and pediatrics healthcare services for new families over the first year of life. This randomized controlled trial will evaluate whether, compared to usual care, Baby2Home 1) improves maternal, paternal, and infant health service utilization outcomes over the first year postpartum, 2) improves maternal and paternal patient reported outcomes, and 3) reduces racial/ethnic and income-based disparities in preventive health services utilization and parental patient reported outcomes.
This randomized controlled trial compares a novel psychotherapy, Engage & Connect, with a Symptom Review and Psychoeducation intervention, tailored to reduce postpartum depression. The study includes 9-weeks interventions, delivered remotely. It will examine changes in social isolation, processing of social rewards and depression severity over 9 weeks of treatment.
Introduction Pregnancy and giving birth to an infant is a physiological process as well as it is also a transition of life, and a stressful period of time with a significance in the life of woman. This period is evaluated as a developmental crisis for the woman, and for her family. High-risk pregnant women are at the forefront of the individuals who need to be supported the most during the transition to motherhood. The presence of a physiological, emotional and psychosocial condition that endanger the health and life of the pregnant and/or fetus and increases the risk of illness and death is defined as "high-risk pregnancy". Exposure to obstetric complications is known to be associated with the later development of psychiatric disorders. In the literature review, it is seen that there are few studies in which CBT and mindfulness-based interventions are applied to reduce stress, anxiety and depression in risky or risk-free pregnant women. However, no CBT-based stress reduction program applied to high-risk pregnant women has been found in our country. A stress reduction program based on cognitive behavioral interventions during the transition to motherhood can contribute to the protection of maternal mental health and psychological well-being in pregnant women, and may help for healthy pregnancy and birth outcomes. Research Aim This study was planned to examine the effect of cognitive behavioral approach-based stress reduction program on pregnancy process and maternal mental health to be applied to high-risk pregnant women. Research Type The study was planned as an experimental study with a randomized control group including pre-test, post-test and follow-up measurements to examine the effect of "stress reduction program based on cognitive behavioral approach" on the maternal mental health, pregnancy, and childbirth process of the high risk pregnant women.
