There are about 1320 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Saudi Arabia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Spasticity is one of the most common features in children with cerebral palsy (CP) and is evident in the majority of CP types such as hemiplegia, diplegia, quadriplegia, etc. Children with spastic upper motor neuron lesions often experience difficulties with muscle tone and movement, impacting their functional abilities and quality of life. Conventional treatments such as physical therapy and medication have demonstrated positive effects in the management of spasticity. However, alternative interventions like whole body vibration (WBV) have gained attention due to their potential to modulate muscle tone and improve functional outcomes. WBV involves the transmission of mechanical vibrations to the whole body or specific body parts. These vibrations stimulate sensory receptors and elicit muscular responses, potentially leading to improved muscle tone regulation and reduced spasticity.
This is an observational study in which only data are collected from people who have already been prescribed aflibercept 8 mg by their own doctors. In this study, data from adults with visual impairment due to neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) or diabetic macula edema (DME) will be collected and studied. Visual impairment is any degree of vision loss that affects a person's ability to perform daily activities. nAMD is an eye disorder that causes vision loss due to the growth of abnormal blood vessels that leak blood or retinal fluid into the macula (the central part of the retina). nAMD is a leading cause of vision loss for people aged 50 and older. DME is a diabetes-related eye disorder. In DME, the macula swells up due to fluid leakage from damaged blood vessels, resulting in vision problems. Aflibercept 8 mg is a drug that is injected into the eye. It works by blocking a protein called vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) which causes abnormal growth and leakage of blood vessels at the back of the eye. Aflibercept 8 mg has been submitted for approval for the treatment of visual impairment due to nAMD and DME based on the results from 2 studies called PHOTON and PULSAR. This study will begin once approval is obtained. Currently, no real-world data are available for aflibercept 8 mg. The main purpose of this study is to collect more information about how well aflibercept 8 mg injection works in people with nAMD and DME. This study will include participants who have not received any prior treatment for nAMD or DME and participants who have. The main information that researchers will collect: the change in vision test scores called the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) after 12 months of treatment. Data will be collected from February 2024 to September 2027 and will cover a period of up to 24 months per participant. The data will be collected using medical records and by interviewing the patients during regular visits that take place in routine practice. Researchers will observe participants from the first injection of aflibercept 8 mg until the end of the observation. In this study, only available data from regular visits will be collected. No visits or tests are required as part of this study.
The goal of this registry is to confirm the safety, and performance of the DynamX Novolimus Eluting Coronary Bioadaptor System in patients with coronary artery disease.
Background The chronic oroantral fistulas (COAF) is an epithelized communication that is formed between the squamous epithelium of the oral cavity and the pseudo-stratified columnar ciliated epithelium of the maxillary sinus with a high recurrent rate. The use of palatal flaps has been documented for treating such fistulae. The presence of the oroantral fistula at the area of second molars or maxillary tuberosity could complicate the use of the palatal rotational flap where the arch of its rotation is increased leading to compromised blood supply. The use of the buccal flap is not advocated because it is very thin. Rationale Double or triple-layer closure is indicated to avoid recurrence of the COAF. Different layers have been documented to minimize the risk of recurrence and reinforce buccal flaps. The oral tissues at the oral side of the oroantral fistula could used as an additional layer with buccal advancement flap and buccal fat to omit the use of palatal flap with its subsequent problems in the most posterior aspect of the maxilla Study objectives Therefore, this study will be conducted to evaluate the use of hinge flaps to reinforce the buccal advancement flap for surgical closure of the COAF in the most posterior area of the maxilla Methods The hinge flap will be performed at the oral side of the COAF to close the perforation in the sinus membrane. The oral side of the COAF will be closed with buccal advancement flap. The success rate, recurrence, time of surgery, postoperative complications, will be evaluated.
in this study, a randomized controlled trial will be conducted to evaluate the effect of adding exercises using virtual reality on achievements in patients having breast cancer and conducted surgical treatment
The main objective of this study is to assess the impact of non-invasive photodynamic therapy by Curcumin and photo-bio-modulation low level (LL) laser treatment in managing mucositis induced by chemotherapy in pediatric patients. A randomized clinical trial will be conducted involving 90 patients aged between 3 years and 15 years. The trial will be open, controlled, and blinded, and the patients will be divided into two groups.
This is a Phase III open-label study to assess if camizestrant improves outcomes compared to standard adjuvant endocrine therapy for patients with ER+/HER2- early breast cancer with intermediate-high or high risk for disease recurrence who completed definitive locoregional therapy (with or without chemotherapy). The planned duration of treatment in either arm within the study will be 7 years.
The main goal of this study is to evaluate the effects of triheptanoin versus Medium-chain Triglycerides (MCT) on frequency of Major Clinical Events (MCEs).
Dual tasking (DT), or the act of conducting multiple, simultaneous tasks, is wide spread in daily life .In particular, the vast majority of mobility tasks we complete (e.g., standing, walking, stepping, etc.) occur while distracted by another motor and/or cognitive task. A common feature of DT is that performance on one or both tasks is diminished when completed together .Understanding the relationship between gender and dual task performance is important because this knowledge could help inform us the development of interventions or training programs that target these differences and improve overall performance. Aims: To investigate the gender-related differences in single task performance through motor torque, cognitive tasks and walking speed, and the combined dual-task costs considering both motor and cognitive performance in a sample of young adults
Background: Multimodal analgesia for control of postoperative pain in cardiac surgical patients helps in early recovery and ambulation. Pectoral nerve (PECS) block with ropivacaine is novel, less invasive regional analgesic technique with an effect comparable to paravertebral, and thoracic epidural analgesia. Aim: The aim of this study is to assess the effect of dexmedetomidine as an adjuvant to ropivacaine on the quality and efficiency of the ultra-sound guided pectoralis nerve block in patients undergoing open heart surgery through midline sternotomy for fast-track anesthesia and postoperative analgesia.
