A Study of MabThera/Rituxan (Rituximab) in Combination With Methotrexate in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis and Inadequate Response to DMARD Therapy

Start date: August 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of MabThera/Rituxan plus methotrexate in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis who have had an inadequate response to at least 1 DMARD treatment. All patients will receive MabThera (1000mg iv infusion) on days 1 and 15, and methotrexate (10-25mg po) weekly. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months.

NCT ID: NCT02006654 Completed - Alzheimer's Disease Clinical Trials

Study of Idalopirdine in Patients With Mild - Moderate Alzheimer's Disease Treated With an Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitor

STARBRIGHT
Start date: March 2014
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To establish efficacy of idalopirdine as adjunctive therapy to acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (AChEIs) for symptomatic treatment of patients with mild-moderate Alzheimer's disease (AD).

NCT ID: NCT02004873 Completed - Clinical trials for Class I or II Indication for Implantation of a Single Chamber Ventricular Pacemaker According to ACC/AHA/HRS 2001 Guidelines and Any National Guidelines

Micra Transcatheter Pacing Study

Start date: November 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this clinical study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Micra Transcatheter Pacing System and to assess long term performance.

NCT ID: NCT01989676 Completed - Clinical trials for Metastatic Breast Cancer

A Study Of PF-05280014 [Trastuzumab-Pfizer] Or Herceptin® [Trastuzumab-EU] Plus Paclitaxel In HER2 Positive First Line Metastatic Breast Cancer Treatment (REFLECTIONS B327-02)

Start date: February 24, 2014
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The current study will compare the efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics and immunogenicity of PF-05280014 in combination with paclitaxel versus trastuzumab sourced from the European Union (trastuzumab-EU) with paclitaxel in female patients with HER2-positive, metastatic breast cancer in the first-line treatment setting. The hypothesis to be tested in this study is that the efficacy (ORR) of PF-05280014 is similar to trastuzumab-EU.

NCT ID: NCT01987921 Completed - Acute Kidney Injury Clinical Trials

Observational Study of Pediatric Acute Kidney Injury, Risk Factors and Outcomes

AWARE
Start date: January 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Pediatric acute kidney injury (AKI) is associated with increased morbidity and mortality in critically ill patients. Currently, understanding of the epidemiology and diagnosis of AKI in children is limited by single center retrospective data and inconsistent diagnostic and stratification criteria. The hypotheses of the AWARE study is that 1) renal angina, a composite of early injury signs and risk of disease, will predict severe subsequent AKI in critically ill children and 2) the incorporation of urinary biomarkers into the renal angina scoring system will improve the prediction of the severe injury. The AWARE study is conducted to describe AKI epidemiology in a heterogeneous multinational cohort of critically ill children, characterize AKI risk factors and associated morbidity, and validate the KDIGO AKI criteria as a predictor of pediatric AKI outcomes. The multi-center, multi-national registry will create the largest ever repository of information available on AKI in children.

NCT ID: NCT01979315 Completed - Low Back Pain Clinical Trials

Cross Correlation of Pain Hypersensitivity and Clinical Features and Electromyography in Low Back Pain Patients

Start date: December 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Diagnostic and prognostic value of pain hypersensitivity in low back pain (LBP) is not fully understood.Increased pain sensitivity in the primary area of pain (local pain) is considered a sign of predominantly peripheral pain sensitization, value of pain hypersensitivity in low back pain (LBP)is not fully understood whereas pain sensitivity in distal and remote areas is considered to present a more central phenomenon. It is suggested that pat ents with enhanced pain sensitivity report high level of disability. Despite fact that pain and disability are associated in chronic LBP the exact mechanisms of sensitivity contribution in LBP disability is unknown. It has also been suggested that muscle function changes may be driven by pain. The possible role and contribution of trunk muscles function to pain and disability phenomena remain unknown. This study was aimed to estimate prevalence and possible correlation among pain hypersensitivity and functional and electromyography parameters of trunk muscles in patients reporting early phase of chronic LBP.

NCT ID: NCT01973829 Completed - Sepsis Clinical Trials

The Checklist for Early Recognition and Treatment of Acute Illness (CERTAIN)

Start date: November 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to test whether the health care provider access and training in CERTAIN (Checklist for Early Recognition and Treatment of Acute Illness), would facilitate timely and error free best-practice delivery and minimize preventable death and costly complications in critically ill patients.

NCT ID: NCT01972620 Completed - Pain Clinical Trials

RCT: Multi-modal Analgesia for Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

LapChole
Start date: February 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Analgesic efficacy of multi-modal analgesia is superior to standard analgesia for patients undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy for symptomatic cholelithiasis. Topical cystic plate and port-site incision 0.25% bupivacaine significantly reduces pain after laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

NCT ID: NCT01970501 Completed - Clinical trials for Current or Recent History of Atrial Fibrillation

Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study is being done to compare the effects of bucindolol hydrochloride (bucindolol) to metoprolol succinate (Toprol-XL) on the recurrence of symptomatic atrial fibrillation/atrial flutter in patients with heart failure who have a specific genotype for the beta-1 adrenergic receptor.
