NCT ID: NCT05659433 Completed - Clinical trials for Retroperitoneal Neoplasms

Contrast-enhanced vs. B-mode Ultrasound-guided Percutaneous Biopsy of Retroperitoneal Tumors

Start date: January 1, 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Background: Retroperitoneal tumors are typically large and inhomogeneous, with a variable amount of necrosis within the tumor mass which decreases the diagnostic yield of biopsy (false negative or inadequate). Rationale: Real-time contrast enhancement can highlight the viable tumoral tissue and avoid the necrotic area. Aims: To compare contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) guidance and conventional (B-mode) ultrasound (US) guidance in terms of diagnostic yield, need for repeat biopsy, and rate of adverse events. Methods: A consecutive series of patients with previously documented retroperitoneal tumors and indications for percutaneous biopsy were randomly assigned to benefit from the standard of practice B-mode US-guided biopsy or CEUS-guided biopsy. The diagnostic accuracy, need for repeat biopsy, and adverse events were noted.

VAYHIT1
Start date: March 6, 2023
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of two different doses of ianalumab versus placebo in addition to first-line corticosteroids in maintaining platelet count ≥30 G/L in adult participants with primary ITP.

Start date: January 21, 2023
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of two different doses of ianalumab added to eltrombopag to prolong Time to Treatment Failure (TTF) in adults with primary ITP who failed previous first-line treatment with steroids.

NCT ID: NCT05652959 Completed - Bacterial Vaginosis Clinical Trials

Real-world Performance and Safety of Cerviron® in the Treatment of Vaginitis

Start date: May 20, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Vaginitis is a broad term that includes a range of gynecological disorders characterized by infection of vaginal mucosa, inflammation of vulva and alteration of the normal vaginal microflora. The most prevalent is bacterial vaginosis, followed by other clinical entities such as candidiasis, trichomoniasis and non-specific vaginitis. A collection of clinical data was conducted to assess the tolerability of Cerviron® ovules in the treatment and management of various types of vaginitis in clinical practice. A total of 111 women aged between 20 and 70 years were recruited, 71 of whom were treated with Cerviron® ovules as monotherapy and 40 who used Cerviron® ovules as supportive treatment in conjunction with antibiotic therapy. The aim of our study was to assess the relief in vaginal symptoms and changes in the normal vaginal pH level after 3 months of treatment with Cerviron® medical device in real-life clinical practice settings.

NCT ID: NCT05651711 Active, not recruiting - Atopic Dermatitis Clinical Trials

A Study Assessing Rocatinlimab (AMG 451) Monotherapy in Moderate-to-severe Atopic Dermatitis (AD) (ROCKET-Horizon)

ROCKET-Horizon
Start date: December 14, 2022
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The co-primary objectives of the study are to: - Evaluate the efficacy of rocatinlimab compared with placebo at Week 24, assessed using Validated Investigator's Global Assessment for Atopic Dermatitis (vIGA-AD). - Evaluate the efficacy of rocatinlimab compared with placebo at Week 24, assessed using Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI).

NCT ID: NCT05649384 Recruiting - Clinical trials for NSTEMI - Non-ST Segment Elevation MI

Emergency Department Triage of Patients With Acute Chest Pain Based on the ESC 0/1-hour Algorithm (PRESC1SE-MI)

PRESC1SE-MI
Start date: December 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The PRESC1SE-MI study compares two algorithms for triage of patients presenting with chest pain and symptoms of heart attack (myocardial infarction) to the emergency department. Both algorithms are recommended by the European Society of Cardiology: the 0/3-hour algorithm and the 0/1-hour algorithm. Currently, most emergency departments worldwide use the 0/3-hour troponin algorithm. Cardiac troponin (cTn) is a heart-specific biomarker which indicates damage of the heart muscle and which increases after a heart attack. In the 0/3-hour algorithm, the amount of troponin in the bloodstream is measured with a high-sensitivity assay at admission and 3 hours thereafter. Likewise, the 0/1-hour algorithm means that the blood sample in which the troponin is measured is collected at admission and 1 hour later. Since recent clinical studies suggest that the 0/1-hour algorithm is superior to the 0/3-hour algorithm, many hospitals consider switching to the 0/1-hour algorithm. The aim of this study is to assess how feasible the time-saving 0/1-hour algorithm would be in reality and whether it provides the same accuracy and safety in the diagnosis of myocardial infarction as the current practice the 0/3-hour algorithm.

NCT ID: NCT05649332 Not yet recruiting - Burn Wound Clinical Trials

Study to Evaluate the Performance and Safety of the Medical Device Argogen

Start date: May 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A wound, i.e., a break in the skin, can result from several reasons. Pressure ulcers (also called pressure sores, bed sores and decubitus ulcers) are localized damage to the skin and underlying soft tissue usually over a bony prominence or related to a medical or other device, occurring as a result of intense and/or prolonged pressure or pressure in combination with shear. Burn wounds result from traumatic injuries to the skin or other tissues primarily caused by heat, electrical discharge, friction, chemicals, or radiation. Burns are acute wounds caused by an isolated, non-recurring insult. The Medical Device Argogen® (adsorbing spray powder for exudates with silver ions) consists of silver zeolite powder, combining in a single physical form the adsorbing properties of the zeolite structure and the antimicrobial properties of silver. Its action is due to the porous structure of zeolite that actively absorbs and control wounds exudate, keeping clean and dry the environment of small skin lesions, as wounds, abrasions, minor burns and bedsores. The association with silver ions gives to the medical device the additional property of an antimicrobial effect. The present study is to confirm that in a population of men and women presenting minor burn wounds (superficial or superficial / deep partial thickness) or chronic pressure ulcers stage 2 or 3 - NPUAP Classification (partial-thickness skin loss with exposed dermis or full-thickness skin loss) the medical device already CE marked Argogen® (adsorbing spray powder for exudates with silver ions) safely attests its capacity to promote wound healing, evaluated as percentage (%) of subjects with objective signs of wound healing (evaluated by mean of VSS score reduction for burn wounds or PUSH tool score reduction for pressure ulcers), results observed after 2 and 4 weeks after the beginning of the treatment.
