There are about 9702 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Poland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study is open to adults with a chronic inflammatory skin disease called hidradenitis suppurativa. The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called spesolimab helps people with moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa. Participants are put into 2 groups by chance. One group takes spesolimab. The other group takes placebo. Every participant has twice the chance of being in the spesolimab group than in the placebo group. Participants get spesolimab or placebo as an infusion into a vein every week for the first 3 weeks. Afterwards, they get spesolimab or placebo as injections under the skin every 2 weeks. Placebo infusions and injections look like spesolimab infusions and injections but do not contain any medicine. Participants are treated in the study for about 3 months. During this time, they visit the study site about 9 times. After completing this part of the study, participants are offered to join another clinical study in which all participants get spesolimab. Participants who cannot join the other study, stay in this study for about 4 more months. During this time, participants do not take spesolimab nor placebo but they visit the study site 2 times to have their health checked. At study visits, doctors thoroughly check the skin of participants to count lumps (nodules) and boils (abscesses). The results between the spesolimab group and the placebo group are compared after 3 months of treatment. The doctors also regularly check the general health of the participants.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate pharmacokinetic similarity, efficacy, safety and immunogenicity of multiple switches between ustekinumab and ABP 654 compared with continued use of ustekinumab in participants with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis.
This study is a multi-center, single arm, open label, retrospective and prospective clinical data collection of CascadeTM, Non-Occlusive Remodeling Net, in adults with intracranial aneurysms, demonstrating the effectiveness and safety of the CascadeTM in providing temporary assistance for coil embolization of intracranial aneurysms. All consecutive eligible patients from all participating sites will be included in this clinical data collection. The relevant data of the coil embolization procedure will be collected via an eCRF system. Peri procedural data on the coil embolization procedure as well as discharge, 30 days and at 3-6 months status will be collected.
This study compares insulin icodec to different daily insulins in people with type 2 diabetes. The study will look at how well insulin icodec taken once weekly controls blood sugar compared to the insulins taken once daily. Participants will either get insulin icodec, that participants will have to inject once a week on the same day of the week, or a marketed insulin, that participants will have to inject once a day. Which treatment participants get is decided at random. The insulin is injected with a needle in a skin fold in the thigh, upper arm or stomach. Participants will measure their blood sugar every day. Participants will get a study phone to record safety data in the electronic diary (eDiary). If participants get a daily insulin they will record their insulin doses in the eDiary. If Participants get weekly insulin icodec, participants study phone will also have the DoseGuide App. The DoseGuide App gives dose recommendations based on their blood sugar and previous doses. Participants will record their insulin doses in the DoseGuide App. The study will last for about 1 year and 2 months. Participants will have 8 planned clinic visits with the study doctor. More visits will be planned to meet individual needs. At 6 clinic visits participants will have blood samples taken. Women cannot take part if pregnant, breast-feeding or plan to become pregnant during the study period.
This study is a Double-blind, Randomized, Active-controlled, Phase 3 Study to Compare Efficacy, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, and Safety of CT-P41 and US-licensed Prolia in Postmenopausal Women with Osteoporosis
Background: Pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PGP) can appear during pregnancy, directly after labour or can be delayed to 3 weeks postpartum. Pain is experienced between the posterior iliac crest and the gluteal fold, particularly in the vicinity of the sacroiliac joint (SIJ). The pain may radiate in the posterior thigh and can also occur in conjunction with/or separately in the symphysis. The endurance capacity for standing, walking, and sitting is diminished. The diagnosis of PGP can be reached after exclusion of lumbar causes. The pain or functional disturbances in relation to PGP must be reproducible by specific clinical tests. Lack of accurate and early diagnosis of the PGP postpartum may contribute to development of chronic condition, lowering quality of life years after delivery. There is uncertainty regarding the association between the function of the pelvic floor muscles (PFM), diastasis recti and postpartum pelvic girdle pain (PGP). Although widely researched abroad, there is a paucity in research about biopsychosocial profile of women with postpartum PGP in Poland. Objectives: The aim of this one-to-one matched case-control study it to examine whether there is any difference in PFM function and diastasis recti between women with and without clinically diagnosed PGP. Additionally, differences in biopsychosocial profile (depression, anxiety, stress, catastrophizing and kinesiophobia) will be assessed. Materials and methods: Because of low incidence of researched condition, a case control study will be the study design of choice. Women 6-24 weeks after delivery with postpartum PGP will be matched with those with no PGP. Subjects' assessment will consist of palpation examination of diastasis recti (inter-recti distance) and pelvic floor muscles. Perineometry of the pelvic floor will also be conducted. Additionally, several questionnaires for the assessment of mental processing will be used: Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 21, Pain Catastrophizing Scale and Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia. Participants will be matched according to age, parity and time postpartum. Expected results: To our knowledge, postpartum pelvic girdle pain has not been extensively studied in Poland so far. The study will bring information about the possible associations with postpartum PGP. We hypothesize that the study will confirm our clinical observations about pelvic floor dysfunction and maladaptive mental processing in women with postpartum PGP.
Target question is as the following one: Does the daily use of a fluoride-free, microcrystalline hydroxyap-atite (HAP) - containing test toothpaste have a non-inferior caries preventing effect in the permanent dentition compared to the regular use of a fluoride control toothpaste (1450 ppm F-) with proven caries preventive efficacy (Walsh et al. 2019)? This multicenter, non-inferiority clinical trial, randomized, double-blind, active-controlled design, two-armed study evaluates the hypothesis that the home regular use of a toothpaste containing microcrystalline hydroxylapatite (HAP) (test toothpaste) provides a caries preventive effect in adults aged 18-45 comparable to the caries preventive effect provided by the regular use of a fluoridated tooth paste (1450 ppm -F) (control toothpaste) over observation periods of max. 18 months. Caries development will be assessed according to the clinical criteria of the Decay Missing Filling Surface Index (DMFS).
The evaluation of the influence of a probiotics therapy on mood improvement and the reduction of depressive symptoms in women in the perimenopausal age group.
The subject of the study is the factors of unfavorable prognosis in heart failure. We would like to identify independent variables associated with a bad prognosis of patients hospitalized for heart failure with a reduced vs. a mid range and preserved left ventricular ejection fraction based on specific predictive models. It is planned to create multifactorial models that can be used to predict prognosis for individual patients.
The aim of study is to investigate the impact of SARS-CoV-2 on ophthalmology training programs among residents. To the best of our knowledge this study is the first of its kind in Poland. The impact of COVID-19 on ophthalmology training programs is largely unknown as there are only few studies assessing the above issue from the resident's point of view.
