The study is intended to understand the distribution of different obesity classes and obesity related diseases (diseases that present along with obesity) in patients with body mass index (BMI) ≥ 30 kg/m^2. Participants will be asked to give information about their health. They will continue their normal way of life and will not get any medication or additional medical test other than those prescribed to you by their doctor. Participation in the study will last for about 1 day.
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about variability of gene SCD and MT-ATP6 in describe participant population and health conditions. The main questions it aims to answer are: • whether there is variation in genes between obese and normal weight individuals Participants will get body weight and high was assessed using the medical scale and stadiometer, then, basis on obtained results, the Body Mass Index (BMI) will be calculated. Next, participants get determine the body composition and body composition analysis by bioelectrical impedance method to determined: Visceral Adipose Tissue (VAT in cm2 and %), Subcutaneous Adipose Tissue (SAT in cm2 and %), and the VAT/SAT ratio was also determined. Then order to examine the sequence of the genes, swab will take from the oral cavity (cheeks and palate) using sterile swab. The research was carried out at the Department of Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition (Medical University of Bialystok).
The health toxicity of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), present in air and food, generated during energy production and waste incineration, is well known. PAHs can activate the aryl hydrocarbon receptor, which may interact with classic estrogen receptors and modify estrogen-dependent inflammation in endometriosis. There is no data on the hypothetical role of PAHs in the etiopathogenesis of endometriosis. The aim was to compare PAHs concentrations in visceral fat in women with endometriosis and idiopathic infertility.

Thyroid hormones (TH) can modify the functioning of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis, affecting the functions of granulosa cells and the development and apoptosis of preantral follicles. TH receptors are present within the oocytes, and TH and anti-thyroid antibodies (ATA) are present in the follicular fluid. Improper thyroid function can cause ovulation disorders, luteal phase failure, impaired endometrial receptivity and result in implantation failures and recurrent miscarriages. While overt hypothyroidism is treated to improve fertility, the effect of subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) and the presence of circulating ATAs on fertility and obstetric outcomes is uncertain and data on ovarian reserve rates are conflicting. Among the causes of ovulation disorders (group II according to the WHO classification), polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) dominates, found in 3-15% of women of reproductive age, and the remaining group of causes is the so-called Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Ovarian Axis Dysfunction (HPOD). The exact etiology of both entities is unknown.

The number of devices for cardiac pacing and defibrillation has increased in recent years. However, although they have improved in terms of quality and extended lifespan after implantation, they are not free from complications. The Achilles' heel of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) is the risk of infections and lead failure, which, when untreated, can be the cause of poor outcomes and a high mortality rate. Abandoned leads predict serious adverse events, such as lead infections, death, electrical interference, or potential problems during future TLE procedures. Therefore, it is crucial to extract them, presuming the decision is warranted based on a patient's individual risk. TLE is a standard treatment for device-related complications, and while TLE procedures are relatively rare in comparison to the number of CIEDs that are implanted, the need for TLE has grown in recent years due to the aging population, an increasing number of upgrades of pacing systems, and a related rise in infection rates. According to the European Lead Extraction ConTRolled Registry (ELECTRa), the most frequent indication for TLE is CIED infection, with the majority of them being local infections. The second most common reason for TLE is lead dysfunction, which is observed in 38.1% of cases. In such cases, the treatment must be fast and effective. TLE is the first-line treatment for those patients and prevents further serious or even lethal complications. However, the goal of TLEis often to remove leads and also maintain access in the occluded vein by moving the sheath over the lead to the lead myocardial interface. TLE technology has recently shown substantial progress in improving the safety and effectiveness of the procedure. As a rule, single traction is the primary method of treatment, followed by more aggressive techniques such as locking stylet, mechanical sheaths, powered extraction sheaths, and femoral snares. Data obtained in previous studies. indicated that identifying predictors of such undesirable adverse events appeared essential for optimizing the procedural technique. Another vital element to address were patients deemed at high risk of stricter follow-up and stronger secondary prevention strategies; notably, infected TLE patients have unique characteristics. The analysis of independent predictor outcomes could, thus, allow clinicians to better identify high-risk TLE patients. In light of this, the current registry aimed to investigate the composite short-term outcomes for infected and non-infected patients in real-world populations.
