NCT ID: NCT03782558 Completed - Clinical trials for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Validation of the Polish Version of the Boston Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Questionnaire

Start date: January 22, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common compression neuropathy. The compression of the median nerve occurs in the carpal tunnel and results in pain and other unpleasant sensations in hand and wrist. In more advanced stage, weakness and wasting of the thenar and other muscles innervated by median nerve occurs, which may lead to permanent impairment of manual performance. The Boston carpal tunnel questionnaire (BCTQ) is one of the most commonly used tools for monitoring of the disease progression and of the effect of therapy. Originally created in English, it has been translated into many languages and subsequently validated. Recently the Polish version has been created and the purpose of this study is to validate it.

NCT ID: NCT03781804 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Rhinosinusitis

Study Evaluating the Efficacy and Safety of Intranasal Administration of OPN-375 in Subjects With Chronic Rhinosinusitis With or Without the Presence of Nasal Polyps

Start date: November 27, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a 24-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, multicenter study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intranasal administration of 186 and 372 μg twice daily (BID) of OPN-375 in subjects with chronic rhinosinusitis (CS) with or without nasal polyps.

NCT ID: NCT03780803 Completed - Clinical trials for Pulmonary Hypertension

Effect of Home Rehabilitation on State of Patients With PAH, HFREF and IHD

Start date: February 1, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the study is to evaluate the influence of physical training and respiratory rehabilitation performed by patients at home on quality of life, symptoms, physical endurance, force of respiratory and skeletal muscles and body mass composition in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) or left ventricular heart failure with reduced ejection fraction - HFREF), or ischemic heart disease and evaluation the number of stem cells, natural lymphoid cells and distribution of subpopulations of monocytes (including proangiogenic monocytes) in examined persons and evaluation of theirs eventual influence of the course of disease.

NCT ID: NCT03779399 Completed - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Treg, Th17 Cells, NKT in Epithelial Ovarian Tumor

Start date: December 1, 2011
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of the study was to estimate the percentage and of Treg, Th17 and NKT in peripheral blood and the tissue of the epithelial ovarian tumor and relationship with blood serum level of HE4, CA125, as well as algorithm ROMA. Material and methods Mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were isolated by density gradient centrifugation obtained from peripheral blood and ovarian tissue of patient suffering ovarian pathology. Patient from control group underwent surgery for unexplanied infertility. The percentage of Treg and Th17 , NKT in peripheral blood and the tissue was assessed using the flow cytometry method according to the manufacturer's instructions. The ROMA index was calculated according to the levels of HE4 and CA-125 in serum.

NCT ID: NCT03773978 Completed - Clinical trials for Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

A Study of Baricitinib in Participants From 2 Years to Less Than 18 Years Old With Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

JUVE-BASIS
Start date: December 17, 2018
Phase: Phase 3

The reason for this study is to see if the study drug baricitinib given orally is safe and effective in participants with JIA from 2 years to less than 18 years old.

NCT ID: NCT03773640 Completed - Clinical trials for Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction Syndrome

The Application of Radio Frequency Waves

Start date: April 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of radio waves on the functioning of masseter muscles in the course of painful functional disorders of the organ, and thus the usefulness of these procedures in the treatment supporting temporomandibular joint dysfunction. Material and method The study group I (20 patients) and control group II (20 patients) consisted of patients, aged 19 to 45 years, of both sexes, who reported to the Consulting Room of Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction in Institute of Dentistry in Krakow to undertake prosthetic treatment of pain form of temporomandibular disorders with the dominant muscle component. Study group (I) consist of patients who were treated with the occlusal splints and radio frequency currents. In the case of application of radiation to the muscle area, the energy was 20 J and 15 J to the area of the masticatory muscles, the frequency was 3 MHz, bipolar technique, the duration of the procedure was 10 minutes, the coupling substance was a gel for ultrasound examinations. The control group ( II) consisted of 20 patients treated with occlusion splints and sonophoresis procedures. For the area of mastication muscles 0.9 W/cm² treatments were applied, the duty factor was 80%, the treatment time was 10 minutes, and the medical substance was 25%Voltaren gel.

NCT ID: NCT03771027 Completed - Clinical trials for Functional Abdominal Pain Syndrome

Therapeutic Effect of the Low FODMAP Diet in Children With Functional Abdominal Pain.

Start date: July 8, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Diet components are important factors in pathogenesis of functional gastrointestinal disorders, especially in the irritable bowel syndrome. Fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides and polyols (FODMAP) are a group of short chain, poorly absorbed and osmotically active carbohydrates, which can induce gastrointestinal symptoms because of rapid fermentation in different segments of the gut. Low FODMAP diet is a novel treatment option with proven efficacy in reducing symptoms of functional gastrointestinal disorders in adults. Conversely, although functional abdominal pain is a common health problem in children, the efficacy of a low FODMAP diet remains understudied in this population. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of two diets: a low FODMAP diet and a diet based on standard dietary advice of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), on abdominal symptoms in children with functional abdominal pain.
