There are about 13332 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Netherlands. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The primary objective of this study is to assess, over a period of 12 months, the effect on weight loss and weight maintenance of rimonabant 10 mg in comparison with rimonabant 20 mg in overweight/obese patients after an initial treatment period of 6 months with rimonabant 20 mg. Secondary objectives are to assess the effect of rimonabant over a period of 12 months on waist circumference, high-density lipoprotein (HDL)-Cholesterol and triglycerides (TG), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), fasting insulin and to evaluate the long-term safety and tolerability of rimonabant 10 mg and 20 mg over a period of 12 months after randomization in overweight/obese patients.
This is a study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of multiple doses of bapineuzumab in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer Disease. Patients will receive either bapineuzumab or placebo. Each patient's participation will last approximately 1.5 years.
The primary objectives of this study are to assess bronchodilator efficacy as determined by FEV1, the effect on dyspnoea as determined by the BDI/TDI, the effect on health status as determined bt the SGRQ and the effect on COPD exacerbations
This is a study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of multiple doses of bapineuzumab in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer Disease. Patients will receive either bapineuzumab or placebo. Each patient's participation will last approximately 1.5 years.
The purpose of the study is to document the use of fentanyl HCl 40 mcg system under routine conditions and obtain a more comprehensive understanding of the safety of the system and complications that may not be spontaneously reported.
The primary objectives of this study are to assess bronchodilator efficacy as determined by forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), the effect on dyspnoea as determined by the Baseline Dyspnoea Index/Transition Dyspnoea Index (BDI/TDI), the effect on health status as determined by the St George Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ) and the effect on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbations.
The purpose of this study is to determine if adding ASA404 to standard chemotherapy makes the cancer treatment more effective in patients with advanced lung cancer.
Optimal ribavirin dosages are essential in achieving SVR (sustained virological response). Several studies have shown higher SVR rates in patients receiving higher doses of ribavirin. Therefore we propose a randomized controlled open label multicenter trial to investigate wether high (25-29mg/kg) dose ribavirin can improve outcome in patients in infected with hepatitis C virus genotype 1 or 4 compared to standard dose (12-15mg/kg).
The purpose of this study is to investigate long-term clinical feasibility of a new voice prosthesis and insertion system Provox Vega 20 with SmartInserter) for voice rehabilitation after total laryngectomy. Outcome measures are voice quality, ease of insertion, device life, and reason for replacement.
Angiogenesis inhibitors and EGFR inhibitors not only have anti tumor activity but also modify physiological processes. This study evaluates effects on vascular function, endocrine function and metabolism. Changes in these parameters will be analysed for predictive value for treatment efficacy.
