There are about 483 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Jordan. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Background: COVID-19 is an acute respiratory pandemic with no available effective antiviral treatment or widely available effective vaccine. Surgical practice has faced widespread problems due to the pandemic including viral transmission risk and cross-infection, staffing problems, prioritizations of surgical procedures and lack of beds due to occupancy of hospitals and ICU beds with COVID-19 patients; Methods: A survey was conducted between October 31 to November 4, 2020, through google forms. The questionnaire involved 16 questions sent to consultants and specialists of all general and special surgical specialties and subspecialties in Jordan;
The study will compare the efficacy and safety of entrectinib with crizotinib in participants with advanced or metastatic ROS1 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The participants will self-administer oral entrectinib or crizotinib as described in the protocol and local prescribing information. Treatments will continue until progressive disease, unacceptable toxicity, death, or withdrawal from the study, whichever occurs first.
The aim was to compare the rate of teeth movement into fresh and old extraction sites.
Background: A dearth of differential research exists regarding the determinants of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and moderate cognitive impairment or dementia among nursing home residents. This study aimed to identify and examine the association between medical factors (number of comorbidities, hospitalization, disability, depression, frailty and quality of life) and moderate cognitive impairment or dementia in nursing homes residents. Methods: A cross-sectional design was used in this study. Convenience sampling of 182 participants was conducted in nursing homes located in the central part of Jordan. Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA) was used to screen both MCI and moderate cognitive impairment or dementia. Bivariate analysis, including t-test and ANOVA test, and logistic and linear regression models were used to examine and identify the medical factors associated with moderate cognitive impairment or dementia compared to mild cognitive impairment.
The purpose of this Phase 2a, randomized, blinded, placebo-controlled, multi-center study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and immunogenicity of INO-4700 administered by intradermal (ID) injection followed by electroporation (EP) using the CELLECTRAâ„¢ 2000 device in healthy adult volunteers for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) infection. This study is divided into 2 parts: Part 1- dose finding stage and Part 2- dose expansion stage.
Retrospective comparative study comparing group 1 (TSH level 0.1-1.99 mIU/L) and group 2 (TSH level 2.0-4 mIU/L). Each group was further subdivided into primigravidae and multipara. 1527 pregnant women were included.
The main purpose of this study is to determine if the addition of apalutamide to radiotherapy (RT) plus luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone agonist (LHRHa) delays metastatic progression as assessed by prostate specific membrane antigen-positron emission tomography (PSMA-PET) or death compared with RT plus LHRHa alone.
The aims of this trial were to assess the effect of changing 0.019X0.025-inch SS working archwire monthly on the rate of space closure, to compare the frictional resistance of unchanged and new working archwires in-vitro, and to assess its effect on the rate of space closure, to record the amount of ion concentration in the saliva before orthodontic treatment, before space closure and one month after space closure.
The objectives if this study was to evaluate the efficacy of 3 different rectangular archwires in the correction of the curve of Spee (COS), to record the time needed to level excessive COS in the mandibular arch using the 3 archwire sizes, to investigate the changes in intercanine and intermolar widths and arch length during leveling, to measure the arterio-posterior and vertical movement for the lower incisors and lower molars, to record pulpal blood flow and to detect the root resorption in the lower anterior teeth associated with leveling excessive COS using the 3 different archwires.
The current study is utilizing a nurse led discharge program based on the Re-Engineered Discharge program (Project-RED) ( Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality [AHRQ], 2013) which is a package of services designed to minimize discharge failures and minimize re-admissions, reduce mortality, morbidity, complication and improve patients outcomes. Project-RED aims to reduce hospital re-admissions through a series of structured steps led by a nurse called discharge advocate. The intervention will be used to discharge patients post Coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
