There are about 3753 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Hong Kong. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study is a randomized controlled trial on acupuncture for Acute Low Back Pain(ALBP). According to literature, using distal acupoints only to treat ALBP is mostly recognized, but in our daily clinical practice, it is common to use local acupoints mainly combined with distal acupoints. Which method leads to better effect is one important clinical question in treating Low Back Pain(LBP) by acupuncture. In this proposed study, the investigators aim to compare the efficacy of using "distal acupoints only" and "local acupoints mainly combined with distal acupoints" on ALBP.
The purpose of this study is to establish the recommended Phase 2 dose (RP2D) and/or maximum tolerated dose (MTD), safety, pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), and antitumor activity of ORIC-114 as a Single Agent or in Combination with Chemotherapy when administered to patients with advanced solid tumors harboring an EGFR or HER2 alteration.
This is a prospective, multicenter, single-arm study on transbronchial microwave ablation using the NEUWAVE FLEX Microwave Ablation System and Accessories on oligometastatic tumors in the peripheral lung, guided by the Auris MONARCH Platform for visualization and access while using cone beam CT (computed tomography) to confirm probe tip placement and final ablation zone. The primary endpoint is Technique Efficacy, assessed 30-days post-ablation via CT imaging.
This is a prospective data registry to assess the treatment outcomes and complications of different treatment approaches for different surgical treatment of urolithiasis in our hospital clusters.
Distal pancreatectomy (DP) with or without splenectomy is commonly indicated for pancreatic body or tail lesions. Postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) remains the commonest complication after DP. A pre-operatively placed pancreatic stent across papilla can decrease the pressure gradient between pancreatic duct and duodenum. Therefore, the pancreatic juice flow is redirected from the pancreatic transection plane and leakage from pancreatic stump is much reduced. This study aims to evaluate whether pre-operatively placed pancreatic stent can prevent POPF by a randomized controlled trial.
Parotid neoplasm consists of a wide range of benign and malignant lesions, and parotidectomy has been the mainstay for management of these neoplasms. Within the parotid gland there are branches of the intra-parotid facial nerves, which are tiny in calibre and are prone to injury to injury during operation. It has been reported in recent retrospective view that the incidence of temporary and permanent facial nerve injury were 9.2% and 5.2% respectively, the risk of which increased with old age, malignant tumour and revision surgery. Traditional the incidental of facial nerve injury is reduced by intra-operative facial nerve monitoring and surgical magnification, while imaging has limited role in aiding this purpose. However with advancement in MRI technique high resolution three-dimensional sequences (i.e. neurogram sequences) are available for better visualization of branches of facial nerves. The investigators would therefore aim to demonstrate additional efficacy of these techniques and also to compare with conventional 3D post-contrast anatomical imaging studies in the localization and visualization of the facial nerve branches in patients with tumour. With better pre-operative imaging, the investigators hope to reduce the chance of facial nerve injury in these patients.
Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin disease with huge negative impact on the quality of life of the patients, and has an overall prevalence of 2% to 3% in the general population. Plaques psoriasis is the most common type of the disease and presents red, well demarcated, and silvery plaques mainly localized in the umbilical and lumbosacral area as well as in the elbows, knees, and scalp. Currently, pharmacological treatments such as retinoids, corticosteroids, vitamin D analogs and biologics remain the main options for most psoriasis patients. However, side effect and high cost barred many ordinary psoriasis patients. A Chinese medicine formula "Inflammatory skin disease formula (ISDF)" was prescribed by Prof. Lin for many years and observed to be effective in relieving atopic dermatitis and psoriasis patients' clinical manifestations. In this study, subjects with psoriasis will be randomized into treatment group of "ISDF" or placebo group for 12 weeks.
This study is to explore if repetitive transcrinal magnetic stimulation (rTMS) with different stimulation schedules will be equally effective in reducing carving, frequency of cannabis use, and the severity of cannabis use disorder in participants suffering from cannabis use disorder (CUD). The investigators assume the hypotheses as: 1. Multiple rTMS sessions can reduce craving for cannabis, severity of CUD, frequency and amount of cannabis use. 2. Different rTMS treatment schedules have differences in reducing the craving for cannabis and severity of CUD, and prolonging relapse of cannabis use.

This study aims to test the longitudinal association between parental IGD and adolescent IGD, after controlling for covariates at personal, interpersonal and familial levels and the mediation effects of parenting on the intergenerational transmission. This study is a two-year 3-wave longitudinal study. Students and parents will complete questionnaires at Time1, Time2, and Time3.
