Long-Term Tolerability and Safety of HYQVIA/HyQvia in CIDP

Adults with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) who have completed study 161403 will be able to take part in this study. The main aim of the study is to evaluate side effects in the long-term treatment with HYQVIA/HyQvia. All participants will receive HYQVIA/HyQvia in the same way as they were receiving in study 161403. The dosing interval of HYQVIA/HyQvia can be adjusted after 12 weeks of treatment in study 161505 if the study doctor determines that it is safe to do so. Participants will visit the clinic within 1 week after the first and second dose of HYQVIA/HyQvia and then every 12 weeks for the duration of the study.

This Phase IIb, randomized, placebo-controlled, multicenter, international study will evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of sildenafil or placebo added to pirfenidone (Esbriet) treatment in participants with advanced IPF and intermediate or high probability of Group 3 pulmonary hypertension (PH) who are on a stable dose of pirfenidone with demonstrated tolerability. Participants will be randomized to receive 1 year of treatment with either oral sildenafil or matching placebo while continuing to take pirfenidone.

Cangrelor Following Ticagrelor Loading vs Ticagrelor Loading Alone in STEMI

Platelets and thrombus formation play a key role in the pathogenesis of acute coronary artery occlusion and subsequent myocardial infarction. Apart from mechanically opening the occluded artery with angioplasty, adjunctive antiplatelet treatment is of utmost importance. However, orally administered antiplatelet agents exhibit a delay in their onset of action in the setting of acute myocardial infarction and angioplasty is mostly performed without adequate platelet inhibition. Cangrelor is an intravenous antiplatelet agent which can provide almost immediate strong platelet inhibition. The investigators aim to compare a strategy of cangrelor administered on top of ticagrelor-an oral antiplatelet agent- vs ticagrelor alone, on their efficacy to inhibit platelet function in the early hours of an acute myocardial infarction.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of motivational interviewing in the adherence of patients with AF to oral anticoagulation (OAC) regimens. Patients assigned to the intervention group will be interviewed and guided on the importance of adherence to OAC medication, and will be contacted at 1 week, 2 months, 6 months and 1 year after discharge for educational interactive sessions. Patients in the control group will receive usual treatment and will be contacted at 1 year after discharge.

Dynamic Hormone Diagnostics in Endocrine Disease

The study will investigate 27 hour profiles of hormones in the subcutaneous tissue of healthy subjects and patients with Addison's, Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, Growth Hormone Deficiency, acromegaly, Cushings and Primary Hyperaldosteronism during conventional diagnostic and therapeutic follow-up. The 27 hour monitoring by ULTRADIAN takes into account the rhythm of hormones throughout the day. It is hoped that this information may in the future improve and simplify diagnostic procedures. Follow-up of patients in endocrinology still remains difficult including clinical signs of over and under-treatment, questionnaires of quality of life and blood testing necessitating often retesting. Simplification of the diagnostic procedure by obtaining detailed knowledge about the rhythm of hormones may contribute to the improvement and individualization of treatment and may decrease morbidity and mortality of endocrine patients.

In this investigation the investigators utilized N-acetylcysteine (NAC) supplementation to enhance reduced glutathione (GSH) stores during an 8-day recovery period from a strenuous eccentric exercise protocol in order to test the hypotheses: i) redox status perturbations in skeletal muscle are pivotal for the immune responses and ii) antioxidant supplementation may alter immune cell responses following exercise-induced muscle microtrauma.
