There are about 4372 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Greece. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Patients diagnosed with stage III or IV periodontitis that exhibit mandibular first or second molars with increased periodontal probing depth (PPD > 4 mm) and class II buccal mandibular furcation defects (horizontal probing depth of >= 3 mm ) will be recruited. This study will be a non-inferiority, prospective, randomized, double-blind controlled clinical trial with a parallel design. Patient will be recruited from the clinics of the School of Dentistry at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and private dental practices in Thessaloniki, Greece. Initially, non-surgical periodontal treatment will be performed through scaling and root planning in combination with oral hygiene instructions and motivation. The re-evaluation will be performed 4-6 weeks following the treatment and the patients who meet the inclusion criteria will be included in the study. Patients will be randomly allocated at a 1:1 ratio to either subgingival debridement and flapless application of EMD (test group) into the affected furcation defect or to periodontal surgery in combination with EMD application (control group). Periodontal and radiographic parameters, patient reported outcomes, oral cavity measurements and gingival crevicular fluid will be collected before as well as up to 9 months following the treatment.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the long term safety and efficacy of orally administered M5049 in participants with subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE), discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) and/or systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) who have completed the 24 week treatment period of Willow study (MS200569_0003 [NCT05162586]).
I3LUNG is an international project aiming to develop a medical device to predict immunotherapy efficacy for NSCLC patients using the integration of multisource data (real word and multi-omics data). This objective will be reached through a retrospective - setting up a transnational platform of available data from 2000 patients - and a prospective - multi-omics prospective data collection in 200 NSCLS patients - study phase. The retrospective cohort will be used to perform a preliminary knowledge extraction phase and to build a retrospective predictive model for IO (R-Model), that will be used in the prospective study phase to create a first version of the PDSS tool, an AI-based tool to provide an easy and ready-to-use access to predictive models, increasing care appropriateness, reducing the negative impacts of prolonged and toxic treatments on wellbeing and healthcare costs. The prospective part of the project includes the collection and the analysis of multi-OMICs data from a multicentric prospective cohort of about 200 patients. This cohort will be used to validate the results obtained from the retrospective model through the creation of a new model (P-Model), which will be used to create the final PDSS tool.
This is a multicenter, randomized study to evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of ABX464 50mg and 25mg administered once daily (QD) as maintenance therapy in subjects with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis who have inadequate response, no response, a loss of response, or an intolerance to either conventional therapies [corticosteroids, immunosuppressant (i.e. azathioprine, 6-mercaptopurine, methotrexate)] and/or advanced therapies [biologics (TNF inhibitors, anti-integrins, anti-IL-23), and/or S1P receptor modulators, and/or JAK inhibitors]. This study is the maintenance phase of both previous induction studies ABX464-105 and ABX464-106. All eligible subjects who have completed either one of the induction studies above mentioned, will be given the opportunity to take part in the present ABX464-107 maintenance study and will be randomized to either a double blind, placebo-controlled part (Part #1) or allocated to ABX464 50mg or 25mg open label treatment arms (Part #2) depending on their clinical response at the end of induction. This study consists of a 44-week treatment phase and a 28-days follow-up period consisting in the End of Study (EOS) visit.
Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the leading cause of mortality worldwide. Every year, millions of people suffer its most adverse manifestation, an acute myocardial infraction (AMI). The majority of these patients present at least one of the standard modifiable risk factors (SMuRFs). These include smoking, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and diabetes mellitus (DM). However, emerging scientific evidence recognizes a clinically significant proportion of patients presenting with life-threatening AMI without any SMuRF (SMuRF-less patients). This proportion of patients with ACS without SMuRF appears to be increasing during the last two decades and has recently been reported as high as 20% (of total AMIs). To date, there are no scientific data capable of highlighting specific risk factors-biomarkers responsible for the development of AMIs SMuRF-less patients. Therefore, two groups of patients with AMI (with SMuRFs vs SMuRF-less) will be compared regarding their clinical, laboratory and imaging (echocardiographic and angiographic) profile, and possible predictive factors leading to SMuRF-less AMI will be evaluated. On the basis of the above, the aim is to prospectively analyze a cohort of well-characterized patients with AMI. The rationale of the study is to investigate potential correlations between metabolic profile of patients and SMuRF-less AMI. This could lead to the development of predictive risk stratification algorithms for patients without SMuRFs and coronary artery disease.
This study aims to explore the reliability and validity of newly developed Investigator Global Assessments (IGAs) in scoring the severity of pemphigus. IGAs are simple 5-point scales ranging from clear - severe and are preferred by the FDA as endpoints in clinical trials.
COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) Registry of University Hospital of Ioannina. Retrospective datasource registry with quantitative and qualitative patient data from the hospital medical records. Epidemiological, clinical and laboratory parameters are recorded on 7 different time points (day: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 15) concerning 793 variables of interest in an electronic (computerised) database. Patients are also followed-up after 90 days from hospital discharge (number of visits of follow-up depends on patient's health status) at the Post-COVID and Long-term effects of coronavirus (long COVID) outpatient clinic of University Hospital of Ioannina. Data from this outpatient clinic are also recorded in an electronic database (189 variables of concern for each patient)
In the present study, the investigators aim to examine the feasibility of embedding a classroom-based soft skills intervention within a tertiary curriculum. The primary objective of this study is to assess the acceptability and feasibility of the "Life Skills 101", a novel psychoeducational course for students in higher education. The secondary objective of this study is to evaluate potential effectiveness of the course by measuring students' acquired knowledge and improvement on self-insight. Different methodologies will be used as part of the stage model for behavioral intervention development. In specific, three universities (CY, GR, SP) will run a single-arm study, while the fourth university (NL) will run an RCT pilot study.
This study's purpose is to measure the treatment response from efgartigimod PH20 SC compared with placebo in participants with Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathy (IIM). Participants with the IIM subtypes of dermatomyositis (DM), immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM), or certain other subtypes of polymyositis (PM; including antisynthetase syndrome [ASyS]) will be included in the study. Treatment response will be measured by Total improvement score (TIS). Additional information can be found on https://myositis-study.com/.
The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of mezigdomide (CC-92480), bortezomib and dexamethasone (MeziVd) versus pomalidomide, bortezomib and dexamethasone (PVd) in participants with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) who received between 1 to 3 prior lines of therapy and who have had prior lenalidomide exposure.
