NCT ID: NCT04753242 Completed - Covid-19 Clinical Trials

Psychosocial Care During the COVID-19 Pandemic in Acute Hospitals

Start date: December 8, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Heads of all psychosomatic, psychiatric and psychological consultation and liaison (C&L) services in acute care hospitals across all participating countries will be contacted and asked to participate in this international cross-sectional online survey. The survey consists of questions about care structures and their utilisation that psychosomatic, psychiatric and psychological C&L services have established in acute hospitals in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic.

NCT ID: NCT04752579 Completed - Low Back Pain Clinical Trials

Effects of a Mat Pilates Exercise Program on Elderly Women With Chronic Nonspecific Low Back Pain

Start date: January 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The technique of Pilates exercises on a mat has proven to be effective and practically applicable to patients with chronic back pain. However, its application in women over 65 years has not been adequately studied. Objective: This assessor-blind randomized clinical trial aims to study the effect of a mat Pilates exercise program on pain and functional ability of elderly women with chronic nonspecific low back pain. Methods: 60 elderly women with chronic nonspecific low back pain (duration of symptoms more than 12 weeks) are expected to participate in this study. Participants will be divided into two groups of 30 people each; one being intervention and one control. The intervention group will follow a custom mat Pilates program (twice per week) for 10 weeks, while the control group will not follow any treatment. Pain, functionality, balance, the number of painkillers administered, and adherence to exercise will be assessed at the beginning and end of the study and will be re-examined six months later.

NCT ID: NCT04750330 Completed - Covid19 Clinical Trials

Mitochondrial DNA and Nuclear SNPs to Predict Severity of COVID-19 Infection

mtDNA-COVID
Start date: April 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In December 2019, the first people got infected with COVID-19 in Wuhan, China. Within weeks, this highly infectious disease spread all over the world. Nearly one year later everyone is still trying to battle this disease and facing the consequences it causes. What became clear is that the disease and its severity differs largely between infected people. However, knowledge about who will experience severe COVID-19 and who does not is still unclear. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the prognostic value of certain parameters (mtDNA and CT radiomics signature) for the severity of COVID-19.

NCT ID: NCT04748744 Completed - Clinical trials for Colorectal Neoplasms

Value of Butyrylcholinesterase as a Marker of Surgical Site Infection Following Surgery for Colorectal Diseases

Start date: November 6, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) is an α-glycoprotein synthesized in the liver. BchE's serum level decreases in many clinical conditions such as acute and chronic liver damage, inflammation, injury and infections, and malnutrition. The Investigators prospectively evaluate patients undergoing elective procedures for colorectal diseases. Blood samples are collected preoperatively (at day 0), post-operatively in the recovery room (day 1), and on the subsequent four days (days 2, 3, 4, and 5) for assessment of BChE, C-reactive protein, and white blood cell concentrations. The same surgical team operates all patients and is blinded to the study. Patients are monitored for post-operative infection by using standard laboratory and clinical methods. If surgical site infection (SSI) is suspected the wound is swabbed and empirical antibiotics are started. The aim of the current trial is to study whether BChE is a reliable marker for the presence of SSI in patients undergoing colorectal surgery.

NCT ID: NCT04748315 Completed - Muscle Damage Clinical Trials

Recovery Kinetics After Speed-Εndurance Maintenance Training

Start date: April 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study will be to inestigate the recovery kinetics on performance, neuromuscular fatigue and muscle microtaruma that will occur after two speed-endurance maintenance training protocols in elite male soccer players. Also, this study will determine the comparison between two different speed endurance maintenance protocols in neuromuscular fatigue, muscle microtrauma indicators and performance factors. The training protocols will be differentiated in training work to rest ratio. The firts training protocol trial will comprise the work to rest ratio (1:1) and the other trial will comprise the work to rest ratio 1:3.

NCT ID: NCT04745377 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

Responses to COVID-19 Vaccination in Patients With Cancer

ReCOVer
Start date: January 12, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is an observational study that will prospectively record and monitor responses and clinical outcomes of patients with cancer after covid-19 vaccination, including measurements of antibody titers in serum and also record potential factors that affect immunity, such as type and stage of cancer, type and time of systemic therapy in relation to covid-19 vaccination.

NCT ID: NCT04738877 Completed - Athletes Heart Clinical Trials

Cardiovascular Effects of Marathon Running

FEIDIPIDIS
Start date: February 2, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is the investigation of acute cardiovascular responses of marathon runners after the completion of a marathon race (42.2 km), as well as of the determinants of these changes.

NCT ID: NCT04736875 Completed - Clinical trials for End-stage Renal Disease

Arteriovenous Fistula Maturation Evaluation Study. FAME Study

Start date: February 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Study of the features of hemodynamic and clinical maturation of the native arteriovenous fistula for hemodialysis.

NCT ID: NCT04733911 Completed - Muscle Damage Clinical Trials

Recovery Kinetics Following Eccentric Exercise

Start date: April 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study will be to investigate the recovery kinetics of neuromuscular fatigue, muscle microtrauma indicators, performance and oxidative stress factors after three different exercise induced muscle damage (EIMD) protocols in adult Males. Also, this study will determine the comparison among three different eccentric protocols in neuromuscular fatigue, muscle microtrauma indicators, performance and oxidative stress factors. The eccentric protocols will be differentiated in training volume and specifically in the eccentric repetitions in isokinetic dynamometer.
