This controlled quasi experimental intervention study follows the MRC framework for complex interventions (Bleijenberg et al. 2018) aiming to promote educators' individual aspect of occupational well-being. The purpose of this study is: 1) to evaluate the effectiveness of 8-workweek SHINE (= Self-Help INtervention for Educators) on educator's individual aspect of occupational well-being comparing intervention and control groups and 2) to describe the possible associating factors for the effectiveness of the intervention (if any) and 3) to evaluate SHINE's acceptability (utility and usability) within intervention group.

The aim of this study is to reveal how different forms of milk casein, lactose and moderate breakdown of proteins affect the symptoms that may arise from milk and markers of inflammation in volunteers receiving symptoms from milk. Research hypotheses are: 1) Protein hydrolyzed milk is as tolerated or better tolerated than A2 milk, and 2) Lactose is the main causative agent of stomach symptoms in milk-sensitive individuals.

Dual-Energy Computed Tomography (DECT) in Acute Neck Infections: Comparison With Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

The purpose of this prospective study is to compare MRI and DECT in imaging acute neck infection. 50 patients suspected for neck infection will undergo both modalities, which will then be compared in terms of depiction of edema, conspicuity of inflammation, and characterization and number of abscesses. We hypothesize that DECT will have diagnostic performance comparable to that of MRI, and superior to that of traditional single-energy CT. This study will yield important new information about the performance of DECT, a novel and rapid method for emergency imaging.

For this retrospective study, the investigators will collect and analyze data of patients who presented with posterior artery occlusion and underwent mechanical thrombectomy (the type of endovascular stroke treatment) and intravenous thrombolysis (the type of non-endovascular stroke treatment). The electronic health records will be queried for the demographic, medical history, and outcomes data of all patients with posterior cerebral artery occlusion who underwent mechanical thrombectomy, intravenous thrombolysis (IVT), or medical management.

Appendectomy vs. Symptomatic Treatment in Uncomplicated Acute Appendicitis Among Pediatric Patients

The APPSYPP trial is a randomized national multicenter feasibility superiority pilot study comparing appendectomy with symptomatic treatment in children with imaging-confirmed uncomplicated acute appendicitis. Patients are recruited from all five Finnish university hospitals. Inclusion criteria are: 1) age 7-15 years, 2) imaging-confirmed uncomplicated acute appendicitis (no appendicolith, perforation, abscess, or tumor suspicion), and 3) CRP ≤ 65 mg/l. Patients are randomized to receive emergency appendectomy or symptomatic treatment. In the surgery group, patients undergo laparoscopic appendectomy within 18 hours after randomization. In order to ensure patient safety, symptomatically treated patients are hospitalized for at least 24 hours, and receive intravenous fluids and analgesics according to standard clinical practice. Primary outcome is treatment success at 30 days defined by not fulfilling any of the treatment failure criteria. In the surgery group, treatment failure is defined as normal appendiceal histopathology or any postintervention complication requiring general anesthesia. In the symptomatic treatment group, treatment failure is defined as inability to discharge from hospital without appendectomy within 48 hours after randomization with a finding of histopathologically inflamed appendix, appendectomy during the initial hospital stay due to clinical progression of appendicitis with histopathologically and surgically confirmed complicated acute appendicitis, appendectomy with a histopathological finding of acute appendicitis after hospital discharge, or any complication of appendicitis requiring general anesthesia. Predefined secondary outcomes include later appendectomies, recurrence of histopathologically confirmed appendicitis and associated symptoms, postintervention complications, return to normal daily activities, quality of, resolution of appendicitis in US imagining after 1 month of symptomatic treatment, comparison of US and MRI findings at presentation, and differences in serum biomarkers and fecal microbiota composition.

A Study to Evaluate Long-term Safety of Nintedanib in Children and Adolescents With Interstitial Lung Disease (InPedILD®-ON)

This study is open to children and adolescents with interstitial lung disease (ILD) that causes lung fibrosis. This is a study for people who took part in a previous study (study 1199-0337, InPedILD™) and for people who are between 6 and 17 years old and have fibrosing ILD. This study tests a medicine called nintedanib. Nintedanib is already used to treat different types of lung fibrosis in adults. The purpose of the study is to find out how well long-term treatment with nintedanib is tolerated in children and adolescents. All participants take nintedanib capsules twice a day. Participants are in the study for at least 1 year and 5 months or until nintedanib or other treatment options become available outside of this study. During the first 3 years, they visit the study site about 15 times. Afterwards, they visit the study site every 3 months. The doctors collect information on any health problems of the participants.
