There are about 1129 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Estonia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The study is a 24 months randomized, double-blind, Placebo-controlled, multi-center clinical trial with an optional 12 months open label extension. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of fetal bovine serum [FBS]-free/human serum albumin [HSA]-free formulation of Interferon [IFN] beta-1a (RNF) 44 microgram (three times weekly and once weekly) versus placebo on the time to conversion to McDonald multiple sclerosis (MS) criteria (2005) in subjects with a first clinical demyelinating event at high risk of converting to MS. The main secondary objective of study is to evaluate the effect of RNF 44 microgram (three times weekly and once weekly) versus placebo on the "Time to conversion to clinically definite MS (CDMS)" in subjects with a first clinical demyelinating event at high risk of converting to MS. At the end of 24 month double-blind core REFLEX trial, subjects who will not convert to CDMS and decide to receive open-label (OL) treatment will be enrolled into an open-label, 12 month extension period to evaluate the effect of RNF 44 mcg three times weekly treatment on the time to conversion to McDonald MS and time to conversion to CDMS.
This is a randomized, open label, phase III study to evaluate the ability of rituximab maintenance therapy to prolong event-free survival in aggressive NHL. Patients will be screened after successful standard induction therapy (CR or Cru following standard R-CHOP-like therapy with 8 infusions of rituximab plus CHOP-like chemotherapy (4-8 cycles). Patients will be followed until an event occurs as defined in the protocol. To evaluate the clinical efficacy of rituximab maintenance therapy as compared to observation in patients with aggressive B-cell Non-Hodgkins lymphoma or follicular lymphoma grade 3b who have achieved a complete remission after appropriate first-line therapy, measured by event-free survival (EFS), 440 patients with DLCBL or follicular NHL grade 3 (220 per arm) will be recruited.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the combination of alogliptin, once daily (QD), and pioglitazone in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are inadequately controlled with diet and exercise alone.
This study was designed to assess the efficacy and long-term safety of 300 and 600 µg doses of indacaterol when delivered via a single-dose dry-powder inhaler (SDDPI) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Patients were randomized to receive either indacaterol 300 µg once daily, indacaterol 600 µg once daily, formoterol 12 µg twice daily, or placebo.
The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate whether treatment with (SEROQUEL SR) quetiapine fumarate sustained release (SR) for 9 weeks compared to placebo will improve elderly patients with generalised anxiety disorder. PLEASE NOTE: Seroquel SR and Seroquel extended release(XR) refer to the same formulation. The SR designation was changed to XR after consultation with FDA.
The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate whether treatment with (SEROQUEL SR) quetiapine fumarate sustained release (SR) for 9 weeks compared to placebo will improve depressive symptoms in elderly patients with major depressive disorder. PLEASE NOTE: Seroquel SR and Seroquel XR refer to the same formulation. The SR designation was changed to XR after consultation with FDA.
This is an open-label, international, multi-center study designed to provide access to pazopanib for subjects who have been enrolled in the Phase III renal cell carcinoma study (VEG105192) and have progressed on placebo. Subjects will receive 800 mg pazopanib once daily. The study treatment will continue until subjects experience disease progression, unacceptable toxicity, withdrawal of consent, or death. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of pazopanib for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma. The secondary objectives of the study are to assess response rate (defined as complete response or partial response), progression-free survival, and overall survival. Response rates will be collected per investigator assessment (no central review). Subjects will have a CT/MRI scan every 6 weeks until week 24 and every 12 weeks thereafter.
The primary purpose of this protocol is to assess the efficacy, tolerability, and safety of MGA031 when administered according to 3 different MGA031 dosing regimens in children and adults with recent-onset (diagnosis within past 12 weeks) type 1 diabetes mellitus. All regimens will be administered as an addition to insulin and other standard of care treatments. Efficacy will be defined primarily by the capacity of MGA031 to markedly reduce typical insulin requirements while maintaining relatively normal blood sugar levels. Other studies involving the study drug use the name hOKT3γ1 (Ala-Ala). MGA031, a humanized monoclonal antibody, is the name used for hOKT3γ1 (Ala-Ala) that is produced by MacroGenics, Inc. The United States Adopted Name (USAN) for MGA031 is teplizumab.
In this study it is intended to compare the blood pressure lowering effect of the combination of candesartan cilexetil (candesartan) 32 mg and hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) 25 mg and the combination of candesartan 32 mg and HCT 12.5 mg to that of candesartan 32 mg alone in patients whose blood pressure is not well controlled on candesartan 32 mg monotherapy. The Primary Objectives are to compare sitting BP lowering effect of candesartan/HCT 32/25 mg and candesartan/HCT 32/12.5 mg with that of candesartan 32 mg, respectively.
Investigating the safety and tolerability of a p38 inhibitor as monotherapy in subjects who have failed at least 1 DMARD.
