There are about 11304 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Denmark. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
MRI has shoved little correlation with the clinical finding during treatment of spondylodiscitis (infection in the vertebrae and/or discs). Since PET/CT is almost as good as MRI in diagnosing spondylodiscitis the hypothesis and this study is that PET/CT is better in predicting residual disease in patients with spondylodiscitis. Preliminary study.
This is an investigator sponsored double-blinded, multinational, multi center, randomized (2:1 active:placebo), placebo-controlled, phase IIa trial in severe pneumonia patients with severe sepsis or septic shock, investigating the safety and efficacy of co-administration of Iloprost and escalating doses of Eptifibatide for continuous intravenous infusion in totally 36 patients.
In Denmark, approximately 13,000 operations are carried out every year. Prosthetic infection is a very serious condition and despite extensive prophylactic measures, prosthetic infections appear in 1-2 percent of the operated patients. It is difficult to diagnose prosthetic infection with the techniques applied so far and incorrect diagnosis might imply unnecessary reoperations as well as unnoticed infections might lead to prolonged pain and invalidity. The purpose of this study is to examine the value of these three techniques applied as a supplement to the existing technology and on this basis to prepare an algorithm for the examination of joint prosthesis infection.
The use of dobutamine in postoperative hemodynamic treatment is widespread despite seemingly intact contraction of the heart. This study aims to elucidate the efficacy of low-dose dobutamine infusion in patients in the postoperative phase replacement of the aortic valve.
Study will evaluate the safety and potential benefit of talactoferrin (recombinant human lactoferrin) as an addition to the standard care for severe sepsis.
- Replacement of intrathecal Triple (methotrexate, cytarabine, prednisolone) with intrathecal liposomal cytarabine and prednisolone during maintenance therapy will decrease the CNS relapse rate in high-risk ALL patients. - Both acute and long-term toxicity are equal in both treatment arms.
Patients with tumors in liver or pancreas are randomized to ultrasound (UL)-guided FNAC biopsies with guidance method or UL-guided FNAC biopsies with free-hand method.
The purpose of the study is to determine whether antipsychotic treatment is influence psychiatric patients due to endocrine and metabolic status and quality of life.
To investigate the diagnostic performance of whole body magnetic resonance angiography (WB-MRA) using two different magnetic resonance scanners at a field strength of 1.5 and 3T. The hypothesis is that use of the 3T system gives superior signals from the investigated arteries, when compared with 1.5T.
The aim of the present study is to evaluate changes in the morphology and function of the corneal endothelium before and after cataract surgery in patients with diabetes type II. Also to explain if determination of HgbA1c in diabetics is a predictor for the changes in morphology and function.
