There are about 9403 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Switzerland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
High risk outpatient adult males with a confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection will be included in the study. Patients will be randomized to receive Enzalutamide with standard of care (SOC) or SOC alone. Enzalutamide will be administered daily p.o. from Day 1 to Day 28 or until confirmed negativization of Nasopharyngeal swap (NPS) Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) (2 consecutive negative samples), whichever occurs first.
While 95% of patients with retinoblastoma can be cured nowadays, treatment of relapse remains challenging, ending often in enucleation and/or radiotherapy. In the last 10 years, new treatment modalities have been developed to give the chance of cure also in relapse, avoiding enucleation which results in esthetic sequelae and orbital growth problems, and radiotherapy which significantly increases the risk of secondary cancers in hereditary retinoblastoma. The current protocol aims at covering all types of relapses in retinoblastoma, with treatments adapted to the site of relapse, at harmonizing the new eye- and vision-preserving treatment procedures, and evaluating their efficacy and toxicity.
The study is designed to assess the safety and efficacy of Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) augmented with REGENETEN in subjects requiring full-thickness rotator cuff tear repair or revision repair versus Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair alone.
Due to swelling after total knee arthroplasty, postoperative mobilization and training is impeded in addition to higher pain level in patients. With postoperative compressive stockings to prevent oedema, haematoma and postoperative pain we would like to investigate if compressive stockings reduce postoperative swelling and pain and furthermore improve mobilization and knee function. In this randomized controlled trial, 88 patients are randomized in two groups. One group receives postoperatively compressive stockings for a period of 6 weeks. The control group is treated without compressive stockings. The patients compressive stockings wearing compliance is controlled with a temperature sensitive sensor. The patients will be informed about the implantation of the sensor. Outcome measures are knee- calf- and ankle swelling in mm, pain, WOMAC and KSS score preoperatively and at 12 weeks, 12 months and 24 months.
This is a Phase 3 trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 30 milligrams (mg)/kilogram (kg) intravenous (IV) infusions of pamrevlumab administered every 3 weeks as compared to placebo in participants with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). There is a 48-week randomized treatment phase followed by an optional, open-label extension phase.
Mono-centric. Blood sampling for biobank development, including linkage to patient data (resource for research on COVID19).
The aim of this study is to analyze if administration of conestat alfa for 72 hours in addition to standard of care (SOC) in patients hospitalized with non-critical SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia (WHO Ordinal Scale Score 3 or 4) reduces the risk of disease progression to Acute Lung Injury (ALI) and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS).
A study evaluating the safety, preliminary efficacy and pharmacokinetics of ipatasertib in combination with atezolizumab and docetaxel in participants with mCRPC previously treated with second-generation AR (Androgen Receptor)-targeted therapy. The study consists of two parts: [1] Part A: Safety run-in cohort of approximately 12 participants; [2] Part B: Expansion cohort of approximately 38 participants. All participants in this study will continue to be treated until progression of disease, loss of clinical benefit, unacceptable toxicity or withdrawal of consent.
The OVID study will show whether prophylactic-dose enoxaparin improves survival and reduces unplanned hospitalizations in ambulatory patients aged 50 or older diagnosed with COVID-19, a novel viral disease characterized by severe systemic, pulmonary, and vessel inflammation and coagulation activation.
COVID-19 patients with a severely symptomatic progression with development of an Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) due to SARS-CoV-2 need prolonged intensive care treatment involving pharmacological immobilization, sedation and mechanical ventilation, leaving them at a very high risk for developing Critical illness myopathy (CIM). CIM is associated with increased mortality and significant consequences for recovery and the ability to return to normal daily life. Up to date, there are no studies investigating the mid- or long-term course of the novel COVID-19 disease. The present study therefore aims to evaluate the clinical outcome of patients with ARDS due to SARS-CoV-2 with special attention to the development of CIM and its underlying causes. To provide the possibility of early diagnosis of CIM, critically ill patients will be regularly screened for muscle membrane alterations using (Muscle velocity recovery cycles) MRVC measurements. The primary endpoint is the incidence of CIM in patients with ARDS due to SARS-CoV-2, diagnosed according to the current diagnostic criteria.
