There are about 9403 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Switzerland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study is a randomized controlled trial (RCT) which investigates the effect of a Future-Self Avatar intervention (FutureMe App) on physical activity (PA) and nutrition. The Health Action Process Approach (HAPA) and principles from consumer behavior theory were used to guide the development of the intervention. The study investigates the impact of avatar-based interventions on PA and food purchasing behavior and aims to understand if avatars can help increase the stand-alone effectiveness of mHealth interventions.
Body composition measurement is an important tool for assessing the physical condition of sick or healthy people, as well as for monitoring changes in body composition and physical performance during diet and/or training. Many people self-monitor their body composition using portable and inexpensive assessment tools, but most of them have not been tested for accuracy and precision. This study aims to assess the accuracy and precision of a new portable impedancemeter scale to measure body composition in comparison with proven techniques, such as 4-electrode electrical bioimpedance analysis and dual X-ray absorptiometry.
Surgical site infection is a frequent complication after abdominal surgery. The wound closure is done at the end of the procedure when the attention of the entire team may be affected because of tiredness and reduced attention of the surgical team. With this study, the investigators aim to test if an exchange of the surgical team by a specialised wound closure team may reduce the impact of surgical site infection.
Given the paucity of pharmacological data on cefazolin treatment of Methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) complicated S. aureus infection (CSAI), the primary purpose of this study is to investigate the probability of pharmacological target attainment (in the blood and infected tissue) with standard intermittent bolus administration of cefazolin in patients with CSAI caused by MSSA by determining plasma concentrations of cefazolin and exact Minimum inhibitory concentration (MICs) of the causative MSSA strains in patients with various disease severities (e.g. critically ill vs. noncritically ill patients). - Sub-study quantitative measurement of Torque Teno virus (TTV): The primary purpose of this sub-study is to describe the viral kinetics of TTV in CSAI patients and to explore the association of TTV viremia with clinical outcomes and molecular markers of activation of the immune system. - Sub-study investigating antibiotic concentrations in sweat as a non-invasive therapeutic drug monitoring
This study looks at the safety and effectiveness of different drugs in treating COVID-19 in people who have been hospitalized with the infection. Participants in the study will be treated with either a study drug plus current standard of care (SOC), or with placebo plus current SOC.
The primary objective is to assess the efficacy of nemolizumab (CD14152) compared to placebo in participants greater than or equal to (>=) 18 years of age with prurigo nodularis (PN) after a 16-week treatment period.
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurological condition, which affects the brain. PD gets worse over time, but how quickly it progresses varies a lot from person to person. Some symptoms of PD are tremors, stiffness, and slowness of movement. The purpose of this study is to see how feasible and how satisfied participants/caregivers/investigators are with video-assisted telenursing use in nurse support programs with LCIG. LCIG is an approved drug to treat PD. Approximately 50 adult participants with advanced PD will be enrolled in the study at approximately 10 sites across the world. The study has 2 groups. In one group, around 25 participants will receive nurse support using video devices. In the second group, around 25 participants will receive nurse support without using video devices. All participants will attend a baseline visit and follow up visits at Week 4 and Week 12. The planned observation period will be 12 weeks. Participants who are prescribed LCIG by their physicians will have three study related visits. Participants, caregivers, and investigators will be asked to complete questionnaires for the study.
Evaluate the ability and accuracy of the Retinal Health Monitoring System - Retinal Thickness Module (RHMS - RTM).
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an inflammatory disease of the joints causing pain, stiffness, swelling and loss of joint function. Despite the range of treatment options for RA steadily increasing, many patients remain sub-optimally managed, with sustained clinical remission rarely achieved. This study will assess the treatment patterns, achievement of treatment targets and maintenance of response. Upadacitinib is a drug approved for the treatment of moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis. Adult participants with moderate to severe RA who have been prescribed upadacitinib by their physicians will be enrolled. Approximately, 1660 participants will be enrolled this study, worldwide. Participants will not receive Upadacitinib as part of this study, but will be followed for response to treatment for up to 24 months. There may be higher burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits, every 3 months, during the course of the study at a hospital or clinic and will be asked to provide additional information by questionnaire at each visit.
Phonak Hearing Devices pass through different development and study phases. At an early stage, feasibility studies are conducted to investigate new algorithms, features and functions in an isolated manner. If the benefit is proven, their performance is then investigated regarding interdependency between all available algorithms, features and functions running in parallel in a hearing aid (pivotal/pre-validation studies) and, resulting from the pre-validation studies, they get optimized. Prior to product launch, the Phonak Hearing Systems get reviewed by a final quality control in terms of clinical trials. This is a validation study, investigating improved algorithms, features, functions and wearing comfort. This will be a clinical investigation which will be conducted mono centric at Sonova AG Headquarters based in Stäfa (Switzerland).
