NCT ID: NCT06200922 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Urinary Incontinence in Old Age

Telehealth in the Rehabilitation of Urinary Incontinence in Older Women

Start date: April 20, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this randomized clinical trial is to compare the effectiveness of a pelvic floor rehabilitation program in a face-to-face versus remote in community-dwelling elderly women with urinary incontinence. The main question it aims to answer is: What is the difference in effectiveness of a pelvic floor rehabilitation program through face-to-face versus remote intervention? Participants will be divided into three groups: Synchronous Group: will receive guidance and perform a real-time guided pelvic physiotherapy protocol through online physiotherapy by the physiotherapist, Asynchronous Group: will receive guidance and perform a pelvic physiotherapy protocol after the evaluation, without the real-time monitoring by the physical therapist and face-to-face group: will receive guidelines and will perform a pelvic physiotherapy protocol oriented in person by the physical therapist. All groups will receive the same treatment for 12 weeks, which will include floor muscle training pelvic floor, urge suppression techniques, bladder training and behavioral therapy. Participants will be evaluated pre-treatment, at the end of the 6th week, and at the end of 12 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT06195462 Recruiting - Fibromyalgia Clinical Trials

Effects of Laying on of Hands in Fibromyalgia

Start date: May 6, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Fibromyalgia is conceptualized as non-inflammatory syndrome with manifestation in the musculoskeletal system associated with chronic generalized pain, fatigue, mood and sleep changes. Laying on of hands therapies are intended to prevent injuries, promote health recovery and harmony between the physical, mental and spiritual dimensions. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of laying on of hands with and without a spiritual connection on the mental and physical health, well-being and quality of life of women with fibromyalgia. 72 patients will be divided into 3 groups: control - without imposition of hands, imposition without spiritual presence with the intention of healing and imposition with spiritual presence through the spiritist passe.

NCT ID: NCT06192641 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Perimenopausal Disorder

Melatonin Use in Patients With Climacterious Symptoms in the Perimenopause

Start date: October 20, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Menopause is defined as the absence of menstruation for 12 months without a pathological cause and it is marked by physical fluctuations and biological changes that can impact women's quality of life. During the perimenopause and menopause transition period, women may experience a variety of changes, including menstrual cycle irregularity and climacteric symptoms. Treatment to relieve symptoms may include hormonal and non-hormonal options, such as behavioral therapies, medications and low-dose hormonal therapies. The objective of this study will be to evaluate the effect of melatonin in women with perimenopausal symptoms. This is a double-blind, placebo-controlled randomized clinical trial research, where perimenopausal women will be interviewed, who will answer questionnaires, and will use melatonin/placebo for a period of 30 days, before and after, they will have samples of blood and urine collected, which will be measured and stored in the Univates laboratory. They will also be asked about possible changes during treatment, such as mood changes, drowsiness, dizziness, headaches or allergic reactions. It is hoped that with this study, the effect of melatonin in women on climacteric symptoms during the perimenopausal period will be understood.

NCT ID: NCT06192160 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Trial of Novel Regimens for the Treatment of Pulmonary Tuberculosis

RAD-TB
Start date: September 15, 2024
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

A5409/RAD-TB is an adaptive Phase 2 randomized, controlled, open-label, dose-ranging, platform protocol to evaluate the safety and efficacy of multidrug regimens for the treatment of adults with drug-susceptible pulmonary tuberculosis (TB). A5409 hypothesizes that novel regimens for the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis will result in superior early efficacy, as determined by longitudinal mycobacteria growth indicator tube (MGIT) liquid culture time to positivity (TTP) measurements over the first 6 weeks of treatment, and will have acceptable safety and tolerability over 8 weeks of treatment relative to standard of care [(SOC) isoniazid/rifampicin/pyrazinamide/ethambutol (HRZE)]. The study will run for 52 weeks, inclusive of 26 weeks of TB treatment comprised of 8 weeks of experimental or SOC treatment (based on treatment arm assignment) followed by 18 weeks of SOC treatment with 45 participants in each experimental treatment arm and at least 90 participants in the SOC arm.

NCT ID: NCT06191510 Completed - Dental Implants Clinical Trials

Xenogenic Bone Intentionally Left Exposed

Start date: October 17, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare, the effect of letting the xenogeneic bone graft exposed to the oral environment or seal off the graft with a collagen matrix. Them main questions it aims to answer are: - The enhancement of soft tissue healing during the initial phases following immediate implant placement. - The secondary aim is to evaluate the dimensional alterations in hard tissues at immediately placed implants and different biomaterial protocol. It were selected patients with indication of flapless extraction in posterior teeth, which was placed immediate implant (n=28) and gap filling with deproteinized bovine bone mineral (Geistlich Bio-Oss®). In this study, participants were stratified into two randomized blocks, each corresponding to a distinct surgical technique: left exposed the graft to the oral environment or coverage with a collagen matrix (Geistlich Mucograft®). - Previously the extraction was performed the measurement of the keratinized gingiva, and after 04 months of implant placement. - The soft tissue healing was evaluated on days 02, 07, 30 days; by means of a blue-stained solution (methylene blue 0.05%) and standardized photograph. - In the same date from different healing times it was performed immunoenzymatic analysis of the levels of VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor), IL-1β (interleukin-1β) and FGF2 (fibroblast growth factor 2). - It was also be performed cone beam computed tomography images quantifying the soft and hard tissues thickness of the facial and lingual bone wall. The clinical trial examiner was blinded during the study period.
