There are about 13446 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Belgium. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
In order to improve quality of care at the department, the investigators will perform a focus group interview study with patients and family members. They will perform 6 (3 in the French, and 3 in the Dutch language) focus group interviews with patients and 6 (3 in the French, and 3 in the Dutch language) with family members.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of an at home administration program for carfilzomib patients.
Acute radiodermatitis (ARD) is a distressing and painful skin reaction that occurs in 95% of the patients undergoing radiotherapy (RT). To date, there is still no general approved guideline for the prevention and management of acute radiodermatitis. The 3M™ Cavilon™ Advanced Skin Protectant is a novel skin barrier protectant that acts as a physical barrier against abrasion, moisture, and irritants. Moreover, it enables an environment for wound healing. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of 3M™ Cavilon™ Advanced Skin Protectant in the prevention and management of ARD in patients with head and neck cancer.
The primary purpose of this observational registry is to evaluate the safety of the easyEndoTM Universal Linear Cutting Stapler and reloads from Ezisurg Medical when used to create anastomoses during standard and robot-assisted laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RYGB) surgery. Stapler performance during surgery as well as post-operative pain and the clinical efficacy of the procedures will be determined as secondary objectives.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the role of neoadjuvant immunotherapy and to demonstrate high pathologic complete response (pCR) and near pCR rates in melanoma participants with clinically detectable nodal disease and a high risk of recurrence. Neoadjuvant immunotherapy aims to enhance the systemic T-cell response to tumor antigens while detectable tumor is still present, inducing a stronger and broader tumor-specific immune response. Of the neoadjuvant approaches studied within melanoma, the neoadjuvant combination of nivolumab and ipilimumab has demonstrated high pCR and near pCR rates that may translate to prolonged clinical benefit.
A sentinel node procedure is recommended for patients with early stages of breast cancer to exclude metastases to local lymph nodes. This procedure is done with a "tracer" which is injected near to the tumor and drains to these nearby lymph nodes. The first draining lymph node(s) are called "sentinel" node(s). These sentinel nodes are excised by the surgeon for microscopic investigation using a detection probe. This study aims to further document the distribution and dynamics of a recently approved new tracer called Tilmanocept and comparing it with the standard used tracer (nanocolloid) to determine whether there is a significant difference between both products (which are both approved for clinical use in this scenario in the European Union). This will be done by randomly assigning patients between injection of Tilmanocept or Nanocolloid and making scans on multiple (3) time points.
This study has two parts. Part A will assess the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics (PK) of AT-777 in healthy subjects. Part B will assess the safety, antiviral activity/efficacy and PK of AT-777 in combination with AT-527 after 8 weeks of treatment in HCV-infected subjects.
The primary objective of this study is to collect accelerometer data from subjects monitored in an EMU with concurrent video EEG.
In contrary to what is seen in FRT cells, rectal organoids of patients with a R334W mutation do respond to CFTR modulators ivacaftor and lumacaftor. The present study will investigate the response to modulators in organoids of 30 patients with CF and a R334W mutation, to allow further stratificaton for a future clinical trial assessing the clinical effect of ivacaftor/tezacaftor in patients with CF and a R334W mutation.
The primary objective of the study is to confirm safety and efficacy of BioPearl™ microspheres loaded with doxorubicin in the treatment of patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
