NCT ID: NCT06261346 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Fuchs' Endothelial Dystrophy

Plasma Rich in Growth Factors in Corneal Endothelial Transplantation

Start date: May 15, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to determine the safety and efficacy of brief intraoperative corneal endothelial graft incubation in plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) for reducing postoperative endothelial cell loss. Subjects scheduled for endothelial keratoplasty will be enrolled and randomized to have the graft incubated in PRGF or not prior to graft implantation. The main outcome is the percentage central corneal endothelial cell loss 6 months after surgery.

NCT ID: NCT04125394 Not yet recruiting - Corneal Edema Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Tolerance of Hypertonic Sodium Chloride (NaCl 5%) Eye Drops Without Preservatives in Corneal Edema

Start date: February 3, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Corneal edema is frequently found in clinical practice as a common sign of acute corneal disease due to different etiologies that cause an accumulation of extracellular fluid in the cornea. The present unicentric clinical trial aims to evaluate the efficacy and tolerance of an ophthalmic solution of hypertonic sodium chloride (NaCl 5%) without preservatives in participants suffering from symptomatic corneal edema.

NCT ID: NCT00800423 Not yet recruiting - Visual Acuity Clinical Trials

Effect of Topical Brimonidine on Post Cataract Surgery Corneal Edema

Start date: January 2009
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Most patients undergoing cataract surgery suffer from corneal edema after the surgery. Brimonidine drops are a well known and safe Anti-glaucoma medication. the investigators have made several clinical observations that patients receiving Brimonidine drops had a faster resolution of their corneal edema even if they had normal intra-ocular pressure. The investigators believe that administering topical Brimonidine to patients with significant post operative corneal edema will hasten the resolution of their corneal edema.
