NCT ID: NCT00483236 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Congestive Heart Failure

Prospective Study Looking at Quality of Life Measures in Non-ischaemic Cardiomyopathy After Mitral Valve Repair

Start date: December 1, 2007
Phase:
Study type: Observational

- Chronic severe mitral regurgitation can lead to symptoms and left ventricular dysfunction. - The purpose of this study is to prospectively follow patients with non-ischaemic cardiomyopathy who are eligible for mitral valve repair surgery and primarily measure the quality of life through the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire & the Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire.

NCT ID: NCT00466713 Terminated - Clinical trials for Dilated Cardiomyopathy

Defining the Role of Insulin Resistance in 'Idiopathic' Dilated Cardiomyopathy

Start date: March 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study will investigate the effects of rosiglitazone, a medicine commonly used to treat type 2 diabetes, on the utilization of glucose by the heart in patients with heart failure which is not due to heart attacks. The primary purpose of the study is to determine whether treatment with an insulin-sensitizing medication will improve the heart's ability to metabolize glucose (sugar).

NCT ID: NCT00454818 Completed - Clinical trials for Heart Failure, Congestive

Efficacy and Safety Study of Genetically Targeted Enzyme Replacement Therapy for Advanced Heart Failure

CUPID
Start date: March 2007
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The study is divided into 2 parts. In the first part, the safety of the gene transfer agent MYDICAR® will be evaluated. In the second part, the ability of MYDICAR® to improve heart function will be studied.

NCT ID: NCT00374465 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Dilated Cardiomyopathy

Therapy With Verapamil or Carvedilol in Chronic Heart Failure

Start date: January 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to compare the effect of treatment with verapamil or carvedilol on long-term outcomes in stable, chronic heart failure secondary to non-ischemic cardiomyopathy.

NCT ID: NCT00333827 Completed - Clinical trials for Dilated Cardiomyopathy

Cell Therapy In Dilated Cardiomyopathy

Start date: January 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine effect of cell therapy in patients with severe dilated cardiomyopathy

NCT ID: NCT00293137 Terminated - Clinical trials for Chronic Systolic Heart Failure (Dilated Cardiomyopathy)

NORDIC: Nitric Oxide-Derived Oxidants and Regional Endothelial and Diastolic Dysfunction in Dilated Cardiomyopathy

NORDIC
Start date: February 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Observational

The principal aim is to investigate the safety and efficacy of rosiglitazone in patients with chronic systolic heart (Dilated cardiomyopathy). We hypothesize that in patients with heart failure, rosiglitazone is safe, and can reduce nitric oxide (NO) derived oxidative stress (in particular, nitrotyrosine) thereby improving endothelial dysfunction, left ventricular performance, and metabolic parameters.

NCT ID: NCT00284713 Completed - Clinical trials for Heart Failure, Congestive

Progenitor Cell Therapy in Dilative Cardiomyopathy

Start date: May 2004
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Intracoronary infusion of bone marrow derived progenitor cells into the LAD in patients with non ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy.

NCT ID: NCT00282789 Completed - Clinical trials for Dilated Cardiomyopathy

BiPAP for Cardiomyopathy With Central Sleep Apnea

Start date: June 2000
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

We investigated whether treatment of central sleep apnea-hypopnea with bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) in patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (IDCM) would improve LV function.

NCT ID: NCT00281255 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Cardiovascular Diseases

Intravenous Allopurinol to Improve Heart Function in Individuals With Dilated Cardiomyopathy

Start date: June 2003
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study will determine whether an acute infusion of intravenous allopurinol improves the inotropic response to dobutamine in patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) as measured by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR).

NCT ID: NCT00221780 Recruiting - Heart Failure Clinical Trials

Role of Left Ventricular Pacing Site

Start date: November 2003
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Cardiac resynchronization therapy has been shown to be effective in reducing symptoms and mortality in heart failure patients. However, very few is known about the importance of the left ventricular pacing site. We study in a random order 11 different left ventricular pacing sites and compare their hemodynamics using pressure-volume catheters. The consequences on the surface ECG are also assessed.
