Moesin Expression in Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most frequently occurring primary renal neoplasm. There are several histological variants of RCC that are associated with variable prognostic outcomes. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a phenomenon in which the epithelial cells acquire some mesenchymal criteria as enhanced invasive potential. There are several cell surface molecules that are implicated in EMT. Moesin is one of these molecules that is involved in EMT, which is associated with enhanced invasive potential and poor prognosis. Targeting Moesin by novel therapeutic agents may prevent EMT and improve prognosis of patients with RCC.

Prognostic Value of Tumor Deposits for Patients With Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

Tumor deposits (TD), nodules in the peritumoral adipose tissue with no architectural residue of lymph node, which is a definition often being confusing to the extranodal extension (ENE), have been described in several malignancies and linked to a worse prognosis. In gastric cancer and colon cancer, TD and ENE should be distinguished and collected separately in 8th AJCC manual. However, in thyroid cancer, TD as a collection variable was absence in both the 8th AJCC manual and the 2015 ATA guideline. This is a study that revealed the presence of TD by reviewing a large number of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) specimens and explored its prognostic value by constructing a nomogram to accurately predict disease-free survival in PTC patients.

Large Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma (LCNEC) is a rare and aggressive form of cancer that presents significant challenges regarding treatment options and prognosis. In this trial, the effectiveness of Atezolizumab in treating metastatic LCNEC was evaluated. Atezolizumab is an anti-PD-L1 antibody that has shown promising results in other types of cancer, such as small-cell lung Cancer and non-small-cell lung cancer. The trial aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of atezolizumab in combination with chemotherapy as a potential treatment option for treatment-naive patients with metastatic LCNEC The trial was conducted as an open-label, non-randomized study, comparing Atezolizumab plus platinum etoposide to platinum etoposide alone in patients with metastatic LCNEC.

The purpose of this randomized, double-blind trial was to compare the effects of preemptive Oxycodone and sufentanil at the same dose on pain and inflammatory response after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) of hepatocellular carcinoma. To study the effect of single dose intravenous injection of Oxycodone and sufentanil before TACE on inflammatory reaction after TACE; And (ii) evaluate the effects of different opioid drugs on pain and nausea/vomiting after TACE.
