NCT ID: NCT03625583 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

The Hong Kong CML Registry

Start date: April 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) is a malignant disorder of the haematopoietic system. It is characterized by the chromosomal translocation between chromosomes 9 and 22, resulting in the formation of the Philadelphia chromosome which contains the BCRABL1 fusion gene. The projected prevalence of CML is rising steadily, due to the significantly improved survival of CML patients and that the incidence rate increases with age. The efficacious yet costly tyrosine kinase inhibitors pose a significant financial burden to both patients and the health care system, while they carry their own side effects and long-term risks. This study aims to set up a local disease registry of CML to improve the knowledge concerning this disease, including epidemiology, characteristics and treatment outcome of CML in Hong Kong,as well as long-term safety and toxicities of therapeutic agents.

NCT ID: NCT03636464 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Renal Replacement Therapy

Pharmacokinetics of Antibiotics in Patients Undergoing Renal Replacement Therapies

RRTdose
Start date: April 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The study is aiming to describe the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profile of intravenous meropenem, ertapenem, cefepime, colistin, Ceftazidime/Avibactam , Ceftolozane/Tazobactam , and piperacillin/tazobactam in the plasma and determine how much is removed by Renal Replacement Therapies to ensure adequate dosing

NCT ID: NCT03637569 Recruiting - Cholangiocarcinoma Clinical Trials

The Relationship Between Triceps Skinfold and Overall Survival of Pancreas, Bile Duct, Gallbladder Cancer

Start date: April 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

In this study, the investigators aim to demonstration of relationship between triceps skinfold thickness and overall survival of pancreatic cancer, cholangiocarcinoma and GB cancer.

NCT ID: NCT03640117 Recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

The Value of Geriatric Assessments in Older Patients With Breast Cancer

Start date: April 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Elderly cancer patients are a special group, often complicated by a variety of chronic diseases, which bring serious obstacles to surgery and adjuvant treatment. It is for these reasons that most patients with high-level evidence-based randomized controlled clinical trials will be part of these patients. Exclusions ultimately lead to a lack of standards for the treatment of elderly breast cancer patients, especially the chemotherapy. Investigators' purpose was to determine whether geriatric assessments are associated with completion of a chemotherapy course, grade III/IV toxicity or survival in older adults with breast cancer in older patients. Investigators want to prospectively enroll breast cancer patients with age ≥70 years. By recording the pre-treatment baseline laboratory tests and geriatric assessments, through questionnaires, including Karnofsky performance status(KPS), Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG), Mini Nutritional Assessment(MNA), Activity of daily living(ADL), Instrumental activities of daily living(IADL), Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE), Geriatric Depression Scale(GDS), G-8, Vulnerable Elders Survey-13(VES-13) and FRAIL, Tilburg. Investigators want to learn the relationship between the geriatric assessments and chemotherapy toxicity, chemotherapy completion and overall survival. Establish a model for predicting chemotherapy side effects in old breast cancer patients.

NCT ID: NCT03640364 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Urinary Urge Incontinence

Bilateral Sacrospinous Colposuspension (BSC) in the Female Genital Prolapse With Urinary Urge Symptomatology

Start date: April 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Prospective non-randomised trial investigating the effect of vaginal vault Suspension on urge symptomatology in female patients with pelvic organ prolapse

NCT ID: NCT03683485 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Cholangiopancreatography, Endoscopic Retrograde

Long-duration EPBD vs EST for Removal of Biliary Stones

Start date: April 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Although EPBD has a lower risk of post-ERCP bleeding and long-term complications than EST and is easier to perform in altered/difficult anatomy, EPBD is reserved for patients with bleeding diathesis by current consensus because some studies reported a higher risk of pancreatitis. However, recent meta-analyses indicate that short EPBD duration increases the risk of post-ERCP pancreatitis, and EPBD with adequate duration has a similar pancreatitis risk and a lower overall complication rate compared with EST for choledocholithiasis. Therefore, this study aim to compare long-duration EPBD vs EST in the treatment of extrahepatic biliary stones.

NCT ID: NCT03734835 Recruiting - Metabolic Syndrome Clinical Trials

The Effect of Supplementation of Flaxseed, Hesperidin, Flaxseed and Hesperidin Together in Metabolic Syndrome

Start date: April 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

To study the effects of Hesperidin, flaxseed and both together in patients with metabolic syndrome, 100 patients will be randomly allocated to one of following four groups: control group, hesperidin group (2 capsules Hesperidin), flaxseed group (30 gram flaxseed) or flaxseed-hesperidin group (2 capsules Hesperidin and 30 gram flaxseed) for 12 weeks; both groups will be advised to adherence the investigators' diet and exercise program too. At the first and the end of the intervention, metabolic factors will be assessed and compared between groups.

NCT ID: NCT03748381 Recruiting - Cataract Clinical Trials

Comparison of 2 Diffractive Trifocal IOLs

Start date: April 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Compare two commercially available bilateral implanted diffractive trifocal lenses (Zeiss AT Lisa tri vs. Rayner trifocal) after cataract surgery concerning visual function and spectacle independence.

NCT ID: NCT03749161 Recruiting - Cataract Clinical Trials

Low-add Multifocal vs. Monofocal IOLs

Start date: April 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Compare low-add multifocal IOLs with monofocal IOLs to evaluate if patients in the low-add multifocal IOL group have better unaided distance visual acuity compared to the monofocal group.

NCT ID: NCT03768050 Recruiting - Chronic Disease Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Community-based Care for the Frail Elderly

Start date: April 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The term frail chronic complex patient (CCP) is generally applied to subjects with heterogeneous conditions that may represent at least one of the following three traits: (i) the need for management by a number of specialists from different disciplines that often leads to high use of healthcare resources; (ii) fragility, which requires additional support either due to functional decline, social deficits and/or transient situations such as hospital discharge or, (iii) the need for highly specialised care with home technological support. The current protocol deals with the second category of patients, frail CCP, and addresses horizontal integration of community-based services. It is based in the city of Badalona (216K inhabitants), within the metropolitan area of Barcelona. Badalona Serveis Assistencials (BSA) is the service provider of integrated care services for this population.
