NCT ID: NCT05842369 Recruiting - Metabolic Acidosis Clinical Trials

ADVOS® Versus CVVHD in Metabolic or Mixed Acidosis

Start date: April 17, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the study is to investigate the effects of ADVOS® therapy in critically ill patients with acute kidney injury, necessity of renal replacement therapy and acidosis. The investigators aim at assessing superiority of ADVOS® versus CVVHD for the primary outcome hours alive with normal pH (arterial pH ≤ 7,35) until 24 hours in a modified intention-to-treat analysis (mITT: replacement if dropped out before treatment start).

NCT ID: NCT05844020 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Intimate Partner Violence

Perceptions of Trauma and Violence Informed Care

Start date: April 17, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to adapt, implement and evaluate a trauma and violence informed care intervention designed for Black women in middle Tennessee.

NCT ID: NCT05846620 Recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

Pulmonary Immune Cell-microbiome Interactions in the Healthy Lung

ILLUMINA-2
Start date: April 17, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The overall aim is to to provide a normal material for the composition and spatial heterogeneity of the following in the healthy lung: i) immune cell populations and their activation patterns, ii) the surrounding cytokine-chemokine milieu, including trans-compartmental fluxes of these mediators between the lung and bloodstream, and iii) the lung microbiome. Main hypotheses: - Absolute and relative immune cell counts in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) are similar to those previously reported by other methods6,7. - No trans-compartmental flux of cytokines between the lungs and bloodstream is present, but cytokine concentrations (notably IL-6 and IL-8) vary with the immune-cell-microbiome composition. - Immune cell (mainly T cell) activation, differentiation, and gene expression patterns are expected to differ between blood and BALF in a manner that depends on the regional diversity of the pulmonary microbiome.

NCT ID: NCT05854693 Recruiting - Alcohol Dependence Clinical Trials

Trans-cranial Direct Current Stimulation on Alcohol Craving

Start date: April 17, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of thisclinical trial is to investigate the efficacy of trans cranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) for alcohol craving in individuals with alcohol dependence. The main question it aims to answer is whether 10 sessions of tDCS can reduce craving for alcohol. Participants will be randomized into active group and sham group. Researchers will compare the severity of craving in these groups.

NCT ID: NCT05854706 Recruiting - Gambling Disorder Clinical Trials

The Effect of Theta-burst Stimulation on Serum BDNF

Start date: April 17, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate the effect of theta burst stimulation for depression and serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in individuals with major depression. The main question it aims to answer is whether 10 sessions of theta burst stimulation can influence the serum level of BDNF. Participants will be randomized into active group and sham group. Researchers will compare the level of BDNF in these groups.

NCT ID: NCT05855122 Recruiting - Multiple Myeloma Clinical Trials

Safety and ASCT-related Symptom Burden Optimization of Tocilizumab in ASCT Following HD Melphalan Conditioning for Multiple Myeloma Patients

Start date: April 17, 2023
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Background: Autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(ASCT) is an important part treatment for patients with multiple myeloma. Retrospective analysis from our center showed that incidence of oral mucositis and gastrointestinal symptoms was higher during ASCT for melphalan as conditioning regimen in patients with multiple myeloma. Objective: Safety and optimization of ASCT-related symptom burden of tocilizumab for melphalan as a conditioning regimen in ASCT for multiple myeloma is explored. Methods: The patient who is enrolled will be randomly divided into two groups in a proportion of 1:1 to respectively receive tocilizumab(8mg/kg) at day -7 before transfusion of stem cells or not. There will be enroll 48 patients according to inclusion and exclusion criteria totally. Adverse events and MDASI score during ASCT between two groups will be recorded and analyzed. Primary endpoint: MDASI, Security; Secondary endpoints: time to neutrophil engraftment; time of platelet implantation; efficacy (ORR) after autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

NCT ID: NCT05856591 Recruiting - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Delivering Food Resources & Kitchen Skills (FoRKS) to Adults With Food Insecurity and Hypertension

FoRKS
Start date: April 17, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to determine the impact of a home-delivered foods and kitchen skills program on health and nutrition in adults with high blood pressure and food insecurity. Researchers will compare Food Resources & Kitchen Skills (FoRKS) and Enhanced Usual Care (EUC) to evaluate the effects on mean systolic blood pressure (SPB), HbA1c, food security and nutrition. Participants will complete 24-hr blood pressure monitoring, standard blood pressure measurements, weight, blood draw, and questionnaires.

NCT ID: NCT05857917 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Renal Function Disorder

Virtual Reality for for Pain and Anxiety Distraction Strategy on Peritoneal Catheter Insertion

Start date: April 17, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This clinical trial aims to investigate the effect of VR application on reducing preoperative anxiety and the intraoperative and postoperative pain of patients who undergo peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1) Whether preoperative VR application can reduce preoperative anxiety in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion; 2) Whether intraoperative VR application can reduce intraoperative and postoperative pain in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion; 3) Whether VR application can improve patients satisfaction of the operation. Participants will be randomly assigned to the VR group and control group, and participants in the VR group will be introduced to VR use and watch a VR video about the operating room environment 1 day before the surgery. During the procedure, participants in the VR group will watch a soothing video through the VR device. In contrast, participants in the control group will receive the usual preoperative and surgical procedures. Preoperative anxiety, intraoperative and postoperative pain, and patient satisfaction will be compared between the two arms.

NCT ID: NCT05866133 Recruiting - Drug Addiction Clinical Trials

Relationship of Addictions to Obesity, Physical Activity and Vascular Ageing in Young Adults

Start date: April 17, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a cross-sectional observational study whose objective is to analyse the relationship between behavioural addictions and drug addictions with obesity, physical activity, sedentary lifestyle, arterial stiffness and vascular ageing in young adults, since many of the lifestyles of adulthood are established early in life, and it is easier to prevent them before they start than to achieve their abandonment once they are established as unhealthy lifestyles
