NCT ID: NCT00003514 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Merkel Cell Carcinoma

Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Neuroendocrine Tumor That Is Metastatic or Unlikely to Respond to Surgery or Radiation Therapy

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Antineoplastons are naturally-occurring substances that may also be made in the laboratory. Antineoplastons may inhibit the growth of cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well antineoplaston therapy works in treating patients with neuroendocrine tumor that is metastatic or unlikely to respond to surgery or radiation therapy.

NCT ID: NCT00003517 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Adenocarcinoma of the Prostate

Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Stage III or Stage IV Prostate Cancer

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Antineoplastons are naturally occurring substances that may also be made in the laboratory. Antineoplastons may inhibit the growth of cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well antineoplaston therapy works in treating patients with stage III or stage IV prostate cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00003536 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Stage IV Breast Cancer

Methotrexate With or Without Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Postmenopausal Women With Advanced Refractory Breast Cancer

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Antineoplastons are naturally occurring substances that may also be made in the laboratory. Antineoplastons may inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It is not yet known whether giving antineoplastons with chemotherapy is more effective than chemotherapy alone in treating women with refractory breast cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying methotrexate alone to see how well it works campared to methotrexate and antineoplaston therapy in treating postmenopausal women with advanced refractory breast cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00003564 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Brain and Central Nervous System Tumors

Procarbazine and Isotretinoin in Treating Patients With Recurrent Primary Malignant Gliomas

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known whether giving procarbazine alone or with isotretinoin is more effective for recurrent primary malignant glioma. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of procarbazine alone or with isotretinoin in treating patients with recurrent primary malignant gliomas.

NCT ID: NCT00003599 Withdrawn - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Vitamin E in Preventing the Side Effects of Isotretinoin in Former and Current Smokers Who Are Receiving Isotretinoin to Prevent Lung Cancer

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Chemoprevention therapy is the use of certain drugs to try to prevent the development or recurrence of cancer. The use of isotretinoin may be an effective way to prevent lung cancer. Vitamin E may prevent the side effects of isotretinoin therapy. PURPOSE: Randomized clinical trial to study the effectiveness of vitamin E in preventing the side effects of isotretinoin in former and current smokers who are receiving isotretinoin to prevent lung cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00003714 Withdrawn - Metastatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Unresectable Primary or Metastatic Kidney Cancer

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of pyrazoloacridine in treating patients who have unresectable primary or metastatic kidney cancer that has not been previously treated.

NCT ID: NCT00003858 Withdrawn - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Mitoxantrone Following Surgery in Treating Patients With Prostate Cancer at High Risk for Recurrence

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Giving chemotherapy after surgery may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of mitoxantrone given after surgery in treating patients who have prostate cancer that is at high risk for recurrence.

NCT ID: NCT00004114 Withdrawn - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Chemotherapy Plus Peripheral Stem Cell Transplantation in Treating Patients With Advanced Hematologic Cancer

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Peripheral stem cell transplantation may be able to replace immune cells that were destroyed by chemotherapy used to kill cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of chemotherapy plus peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients who have advanced hematologic cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00004878 Withdrawn - Leukemia Clinical Trials

Donor Lymphocytes to Prevent Graft-Versus-Host Disease in Patients With Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Peripheral stem cell transplantation may be able to replace immune cells that were destroyed by chemotherapy used to kill cancer cells. Sometimes the transplanted cells can be rejected by the body's normal tissues. Donor lymphocytes that have been treated in the laboratory may prevent this from happening. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to study the effectiveness of donor lymphocytes to prevent graft-versus-host disease in patients who are undergoing peripheral stem cell transplantation for chronic myeloid leukemia.

NCT ID: NCT00006267 Withdrawn - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Nitrocamptothecin in Treating Patients With Recurrent or Metastatic Ovarian Epithelial or Primary Peritoneal Cancer

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of nitrocamptothecin in treating patients who have recurrent or metastatic ovarian epithelial or primary peritoneal cancer.
