NCT ID: NCT01800110 Not yet recruiting - Breast Milk Clinical Trials

Influence of Pomegranate Juice Consumption on the Level of Antioxidants in Breast Milk

Start date: April 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Many medicinal effects of Pomegranate juices are already known. Mainly known for its anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-oxide tendency of pomegranate juice. Many studies which have demonstrated antioxidant activity of pomegranate juice in the blood and blood cells were published. In addition, published studies have demonstrated the anti-oxidant activity which inhibit the development of atherosclerosis and stroke, even in patients with diabetes, and its effect of decreasing systolic blood pressure in patients with systemic hypertension. The purpose of the work is to examine the effect of drinking pomegranate juice on the level of anti-oxidants in human breast milk.

NCT ID: NCT01802671 Not yet recruiting - Low Back Pain Clinical Trials

Efficacy Study of Cognitive Behavioural Treatment With Support on Communication and Information Technologies for the Management of Chronic Low Back Pain

POETS
Start date: April 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this study is to investigate the short- and long-term efficacy of a Cognitive Behavioural Treatment program for chronic low back pain supported by information and communication technologies

NCT ID: NCT01803139 Not yet recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Long Term Results of the Canadian Breast IMRT Study

IMRT-FU
Start date: April 2013
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Women diagnosed with an early stage cancer of the breast usually have the cancer removed by lumpectomy and then have radiation treatments to the entire breast. In 2008 the investigators published the result of a multicentre study showing that breast Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) significantly reduces the occurrence of radiation burns. In this study the investigators will recall all patients at 8 years to assess if this technique also reduces permanent side effects including pain and cosmesis.

NCT ID: NCT01804348 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for PREMATURE RUPTURE OF MEMBRANES

AL-SENSE 1-Step - Determination of Product Specificity

ROM
Start date: April 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Clinical diagnosis of amniotic fluid leak will be determined, according the hospital standard procedure, using pooling test and/or sterile speculum examination and /or pH test, and AmniSure, N-Dia, Inc. (immunoassay for diagnosis of ruptured fetal membranes (ROM)). Amniotic fluid leak test, using the AL- SENSE 1-Step device, will be considered positive in case of presence of a blue or green or grey stain on a yellow background of the AL-SENSE 1-Step, as observed by the patient and the clinician (positive/negative).

NCT ID: NCT01812850 Not yet recruiting - Bruxism Clinical Trials

Effects of the Continuous Wear of Invisalign® Trays on the Temporomandibular Joints and Orofacial Muscular Complex

Start date: April 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to assess temporomandibular joint (TMJ) symptoms and night muscle activity in an objective manner, in addition to daytime bruxism and clenching, as reported by the patient, following the start of orthodontic treatment with Invisalign®. A baseline evaluation of all measures will be used as control data, while different time points will be used to evaluate the evolution of patients' symptoms over the course of six months (the duration of the study).

NCT ID: NCT01814150 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Metastatic Breast Cancer

The Association Between Alpha 1 Acid Glycoprotein Level and Outcome Metastatic Cancer Treated With Docetaxel

Start date: April 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Docetaxel based chemotherapy is a standard therapy in various metastatic cancers including lung cancer, breast cancer, gastric cancer, prostate cancer, and bladder cancer. One of the main plasma protein carriers of docetaxel is Alpha 1 acid glycoprotein. Retrospective data suggests that plasma level of alpha 1 acid glycoprotein is associated with the outcome of docetaxel based therapy in cancer patients. The investigators aim to prospectively study the association between the plasma level of alpha 1 acid glycoprotein and the outcome of docetaxel based therapy in cancer patients.

NCT ID: NCT01815658 Not yet recruiting - Fractures, Bone Clinical Trials

"Bio-logical" Carbon Fiber Intramedullary Nail Biomechanical Test and Preliminary Clinical Results

Start date: April 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to present a novel Intramedullary Nail (IMN) made of CFR - PEED composite, that is biomechanically tailored to closely match cortical bone. This IMN should promote fracture healing and prevent stress shielding osteopenia. Case records of patients with humurus shaft fracture will be retrospectively reviewed to determine whether the implant promotes bone healing.

NCT ID: NCT01816347 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Cardiovascular Disease

Evaluation of Pre-deployment Device-to-artery Relative Axial Motion in Coronary Catheterizations

Start date: April 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The cyclic movement of the heart and the coronary arteries induces relative axial movement between the artery and a pre-deployed intra-luminal stent which may cause malpositioning. Using a new imaging algorithm to indicate the position of a stent in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), the investigators will measure the pre-deployment relative, intra-luminal stent axial movement in the different coronary arteries to facilitate the precise deployment site.

NCT ID: NCT01816399 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Cardiovascular Disease

New Vectorcardiogram Analysis a Good Predictor of Coronary Disease in Patients With Normal Rest 12-leads ECG

Start date: April 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to determine whether a new vectorcardiogram (VCG) analysis will facilitate the detection of significant coronary disease (CAD) in patients with normal rest 12-leads ECG (NE).

NCT ID: NCT01819584 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Conservatively Treated CHI Patients

Long Term Glucose Metabolism in Conservatively Treated Patients With Congenital Hyperinsulinism

Start date: April 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to continue follow up of conservatively treated CHI patients and to focus on their metabolic outcome, including frequency of hypoglycemia after discontinuing treatment and incidence of diabetes mellitus in the long term.
