NCT ID: NCT05228925 Completed - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

GraviD-child Follow-up of the Children´s Health, Growth and Development Within the GraviD-study

Start date: February 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

GraviD is a multi-ethnic population-based pregnancy cohort. Pregnant women were invited to participate in the GraviD study when registering for antenatal care in parts of the region of Västra Götaland in Sweden in 2013-2014. All women registering for antenatal care were eligible for inclusion, as long as the pregnancy had not exceeded 16 gestational weeks. In total, 2125 pregnant women were recruited in gestational week 12 during two time-periods; fall 2013 and spring 2014. Blood sampling was performed in gestational week <17 and again at gestational week >31 by midwifes. After delivery, the maternity records were obtained, to collect information on child's gender, birth weight and length and other possible birth outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT05221203 Completed - Body Composition Clinical Trials

Metabolic Cost of Bodyweight Training

BWT-UTH
Start date: January 3, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In this study, the investigators will be able to estimate the metabolic cost of several foundational bodyweight training exercises.

NCT ID: NCT05221177 Completed - Body Composition Clinical Trials

Metabolic Cost of Suspension Exercise Training (SET-UTH)

SET-UTH
Start date: January 3, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In this study, the investigators will be able to estimate the metabolic cost of several foundational suspension training exercises.

NCT ID: NCT05216406 Completed - Body Composition Clinical Trials

Effects of Daily Supplementation of 5-HTP on Body Composition

Start date: January 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this investigation was to compare supplementation with 5-HTP to placebo on indices of body composition. A randomized trial compared a sample of 48 resistance-trained individuals taking either 100 mg of 5-hydroxytryptophan supplementation or a placebo. The investigators tested anthropometric measurements using a multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance device (InBody® 270). The primary outcome (i.e., changes in anthropometric measurements) was assessed at the first visit (pre-test-) and post-test (8 weeks). Secondary outcomes include resting heart rate, blood pressure, and dietary intake.

NCT ID: NCT05163587 Completed - Hyperlipidemias Clinical Trials

Composite Flour and Its Antdiabetic Potential

Start date: March 26, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A low glycemic multigrain flour for chapattis will be made from grains and cereals that are easily available in Pakistan. The nutritional profile and composition of test flour will be checked through proximate analysis method determined by AOAC. GI of test flour will be determined by comparing it with a reference food. The participants will be fed reference food i.e., 50gm glucose dissolved in 250ml water and test food serving having 50gm of available carbohydrates separately after an overnight fast. Finger prick method will be used to determine blood glucose levels at 0,15, 30, 45, 90 minutes. Trapezoidal rule will be used to determine iAUC and GI and GL will be determined by using standard formulas. Efficacy of test flour will be checked by human clinical trial. Control group will be fed chapatis made from test flour for 90 days. Anthropometry, body composition and biochemical measures including HbA1c, blood glucose (fasting and random) and lipid profile will be analyzed pre- and post-intervention and differences in their readings will be compared.

NCT ID: NCT05141045 Completed - Body Composition Clinical Trials

The Effect of Fish Oil Supplementation on Vocal Performance

Start date: February 8, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study was to determine if use of omega-3 PUFA supplement in combination with a singer's training regimen enhances training adaptations and body composition.

NCT ID: NCT05128812 Completed - Quality of Life Clinical Trials

Study of the Effects of Plx on Bioparametric Measurements.

Start date: May 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The main objective is to study the effects of the intake of a nutraceutical on health indicators, focused on sleep and stress, as well as cardiovascular (blood pressure...), circulating (cortisol) and body composition parameters in a Spanish adult population.

NCT ID: NCT05067036 Completed - Physical Activity Clinical Trials

Physical Activity, Appetite and Food Intake in Older Adults (PHYSISAT)

Start date: December 9, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study aims to assess the effect of physical activity on food intake and appetite in older adults (≥ 65 years) and to investigate the relationship between older adults' eating behaviours, body composition and physical activity.

NCT ID: NCT05052164 Completed - Quality of Life Clinical Trials

Improvement Of Physical And Physiological Parameters In Menopausal Or Post-Menopausal Celiac Women

Start date: September 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Celiac disease (CD) is an immunological disorder that mainly affects the small intestine, generating an inflammatory process in response to the presence of gluten (a protein). Autoimmune diseases are part of a group of diseases that are difficult to diagnose without a specific protocol or consensus to detect them due to the number of symptoms and diseases with which it has a relationship. The incidence of CD in Spain -according to data from the rest of the European Economic Community, since there is no study on incidence in Spain- is assumed to be approximately 1 per 100 live births. It is more frequent in women, with a 2:1 ratio. The only treatment consists of a STRICT GLUTEN-FREE DIET FOR LIFE. This results in the disappearance of symptoms, normalization of serology and recovery of intestinal villi. Failure to follow the diet can lead to important complications which, especially in adulthood, can manifest themselves in the form of osteopenia, osteoporosis and a high risk of neoplasms in the digestive tract, mainly. The main objective is to achieve a physical and physiological improvement in menopausal or post-menopausal celiac women. The specific objectives will be to know the influence of a dietary-nutritional program combined with physical exercise in menopausal or post-menopausal celiac women on: - Physical condition (strength, endurance, functional autonomy...). - Body composition. - Psychological aspects. - Physiological parameters (heart rate, maximum oxygen consumption, blood analysis...).

NCT ID: NCT05026697 Completed - Body Composition Clinical Trials
