NCT ID: NCT03000361 Completed - Colonoscopy Clinical Trials

Motorized Spiral Colonoscopy Trial: A First Feasibility Trial

MSCT
Start date: December 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to assess the feasibility and the safety of the Novel Motorized Spiral Endoscope to examine the colon. The study is conceived as proof of concept trial with the primary aim to achieve a cecal intubation rate of at least 90 % according to quality guidelines recommendations. All other clinically relevant quality parameters of standard colonoscopy will be evaluated as secondary aims comparable to our recent trial. This study represents the first clinical evaluation of using a motorized spiral assisted endoscope for examination of the colon with potential advantages for patients in terms of effectiveness and convenience of colonoscopy.

NCT ID: NCT02985944 Completed - ColoRectal Cancer Clinical Trials

Withdrawal Time and Use of Wide-angle Endoscope to Increase the Adenoma Detection Rate of Screening Colonoscopy

Start date: June 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Colonoscopy outcome is strictly related to the adenoma detection rate (ADR). An endoscopy withdrawal time >6min has been suggested to increase the ADR since it allows for thorough evaluation of the several hidden areas of the colon. The FUSE, full spectrum endoscopy system, has been demonstrated to reduce the rate of missed lesions due to its wide-angle view. In the present study the authors evaluate the impact of WT on ADR for High Definition Standard Endoscopes with just a single imager to the FUSE endoscope.

NCT ID: NCT02982447 Recruiting - Colorectal Adenoma Clinical Trials

Comparison of Detection and Miss Rates of Blue Laser Imaging Versus Conventional White Light Colonoscopy

Start date: December 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

It is a randomized controlled trial with tandem colonoscopy.Participants were randomized for use of either blue laser imaging or conventional White Light Colonoscopy on withdrawal method.comparison of detection and miss rates of BLI group Versus conventional White Light Colonoscopy.

NCT ID: NCT02980562 Completed - Colon Adenoma Clinical Trials

Comparison of Low Volume PEG-Asc and Lower Volume PEG-Asc With Bisacodyl

Start date: May 2015
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Recently a low-volume polyethylene glycol containing ascorbic acid (PEG-Asc) formulation has proven as safe and effective as traditional 4-L PEG solutions for colonoscopy preparation. However, currently available aqueous purgative formulations are poorly tolerated. The aim of this study was to compare a split-dose 2-L PEG-Asc and a 1-L PEG-Asc with bisacodyl (10 mg) formulation to determine the quality of bowel cleansing and patient tolerability.

NCT ID: NCT02978664 Completed - Adenoma Clinical Trials

The Impact of Distraction on Adenoma Detection Rate

Start date: October 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators will review video-recordings of three randomized, controlled trials (NCT01535326, 01699399, and 01894191) comparing air insufflation, water immersion and water exchange during colonoscopy. These studies were all conducted at Buddhist Dalin Tzu Chi Hospital.

NCT ID: NCT02967107 Completed - Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trials

Cold Snare Polypectomy Versus Endoscopic Mucosal Resection for Colonic Sessile Serrated Polyps

CSP-EMR
Start date: June 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Comparing the efficacy of cold snare polypectomy with endoscopic mucosal resection

NCT ID: NCT02965703 Active, not recruiting - Colorectal Adenoma Clinical Trials

Aspirin in Preventing Colorectal Cancer in Patients With Colorectal Adenoma

Start date: January 16, 2018
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase IIa trial studies how well aspirin works in preventing colorectal cancer in patients with colorectal adenoma. Aspirin may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

NCT ID: NCT02957058 Completed - Colonic Polyp Clinical Trials

PROSpective Assessment of Post EmR Recurrence

PROSPER
Start date: January 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

To prospectively validate the SERT (Sydney EMR Recurrence Tool) scoring system for adenoma recurrence rates around the endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) scar after wide field-EMR with thermal treatment applied to the defect margin. The primary aim of the study will be to ensure the safety of this approach and there will be constant monitoring to ensure that this is the case.

NCT ID: NCT02947607 Completed - Clinical trials for Colorectal Adenoma and Carcinoma

Investigation of the Role of the Microbiome in the Pathogenesis of Colorectal Adenoma and Carcinoma

Start date: July 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is the investigation of new host-microbiome interactions promoting adenoma formation and adenocarcinoma progression. For that purpose, the investigators will collect saliva, stool and colon biopsy specimens from patients referred to colonoscopy or surgical resection of colorectal tumor. Besides, a questionnaire about diet, lifestyle and medical history will be collected. Sample analysis will involve simultaneous characterization of host and microbiota genomic and transcriptomic components.

NCT ID: NCT02943070 Completed - Clinical trials for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

Rezum Pilot
Start date: March 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Rezum System for the treatment of BPH
