Pursuing Reduction in Fatigue After COVID-19 Via Exercise and Rehabilitation (PREFACER): A Randomized Feasibility Trial

Long COVID or post-COVID-19 syndrome is a complex syndrome that affects people following SARS-CoV-2 infection. This currently affects 1.4 million Canadians, with the most common symptom being fatigue. This feasibility trial will compare a newly developed rehabilitation program (COVIDEx) for treating post-COVID-19 fatigue to standard of care. The experimental treatment group will receive an 8-week multi-modal rehabilitation program with two 50-minute sessions per week. Sixty participants will be recruited and randomly assigned to the COVIDEx program or standard of care and will be followed for 24 weeks.

Restless legs syndrome is a symptom that can be seen in all stages of a woman's life, but its frequency and severity increases with menopause. Restless legs syndrome is a neurological problem that occurs usually at night with an irresistible urge to move the legs. It is a progressive muscle relaxation exercise. Progressive muscle relaxation exercise is a systematic practice aimed at providing deep relaxation by exercising large muscle groups in the body along with breathing techniques. This study aims to evaluate the effect of progressive muscle relaxation exercise on the severity of restless legs syndrome, quality of life and sleep quality related to restless legs syndrome in menopausal women with restless legs syndrome.

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate if the study drug, CIN-103, can help reduce the symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome with predominant diarrhea (IBS-D) in adult patients. The main questions it aims to answer are: - To evaluate the efficacy of CIN-103 on symptoms of IBS-D when given to patients with IBS-D compared to a placebo. - To evaluate the safety and tolerability of CIN-103 when given to patients with IBS-D compared to a placebo Participants will attend the following visits: - Screening Period (1 Visit) - Baseline Period (1 Visit) - Will complete daily diary and other Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs) as described in the protocol to assess eligibility for continued participation. - 12-Week Treatment Period (5 Visits) - Study drug taken twice daily by mouth. - Will complete daily diaries and other PROs as described in the protocol. - Follow- Up Period (1 Visit) Researchers will compare CIN-103 Dose 1, CIN-103 Dose 2, and placebo, to evaluate the clinical response to multiple dose strengths of CIN-103 relative to placebo on abdominal pain and stool consistency along with safety and tolerability.

This proof-of-concept trial will explore the effects of manual chiropractic adjustments on nervous system function in individuals with post-concussion syndrome. This study will aim to recruit 10 individuals to receive 6 weeks of chiropractic care with 3 assessment periods. The participants will undergo a baseline assessment, mid-trial assessment, and post-trial assessment. The participants will wear an electroencephalography (EEG) cap for a neural assessment during an event related potential. They will wear electrical diodes to measure electrocardiography (ECG), impedance cardiography (ICG), and electrodermal activity (EDA) throughout the study and during an orthostatic challenge. Additional sensors will be placed on the participant to measure interlimb symmetry patterns during gait while walking on a treadmill.

Pain Assessment During Less-Invasive-Surfactant-Administration

Primary aims of the study are to evaluate the feasibility of Skin conductance (SC) measurements and its correlation to Neonatal Pain and Distress Scale (N-PASS) - scores during the Less-Invasive-Surfactant-Administration (LISA)-procedure in preterm infants. Secondary aims are to evaluate the effect of LISA on the general stress-level in preterm infants with respiratory distress syndrome. The assessment of pain and stress with SC measurement in addition to the subjective assessment with N-PASS may provide more conclusive data on the sensation of pain or stress during the LISA procedure and therefore the necessity of analgosedation. Therefore, this study might help to identify those infants in need for analgosedation, which would allow an individualized approach in the future.

Fibromyalgia (FM) is characterized by symptoms such as chronic widespread pain, severe fatigue, sleep disturbances, extremity paresthesia, stiffness, mood disturbances, and cognitive impairment lasting more than 3 months without an alternative explanation. Although the exact etiology and pathogenesis of FM is still unknown, it has been suggested that stress or psychological factors may play a key role in the syndrome. 1,2,3 Positive Psychotherapy supports individuals in symptom management to use their resources to overcome difficulties, understand and recognize growth areas with a therapeutic approach.4 In this respect, it overlaps with the professional purpose of mental health and psychiatric nursing (RSPH). The aim of this study; In this study, it is aimed to report the process of examining the pain perception, daily life activities and mental health of patients with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) and the effectiveness of the psychoeducation program based on Positive Psychotherapy (PPT).
