Filter by:The objective of this study is to compare the pharmacokinetics of avanafil in subjects with mild and moderate renal impairment and to assess the safety and toleration of avanafil in subjects with mild and moderate renal impairment.
This study assesses the effects of a new formulation of bardoxolone methyl on eGFR in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease and Type 2 Diabetes.
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that increased dosages of mycophenolic acid in maintenance kidney transplant recipients may cause a reduction in donor-specific antibodies.
This is a Phase 4, multicenter, open label, 1 period study. A total of 16 subjects are planned (8 subjects in Group A and 8 subjects in Group B): The 2 groups will be comparable in terms of age, gender, and body mass index (BMI); the ranges for comparison will be obtained from the pooled demographic data of the renally impaired subjects. The mean age of Group B will be within 5 years of the mean age of Group A, the mean BMI of Group B will be within 18% of the mean BMI of Group A, and the ratio of men to women in Group B will be the same as in Group A.
This multi-center, randomized, double-blind, active controlled, parallel-group study in type 2 diabetes patients with moderate renal impairment will evaluate the effect on renal function and the safety and tolerability of aleglitazar compared with pioglitazone. Patients will be randomized to receive either 150 mcg aleglitazar or 45 mg pioglitazone as daily oral doses. In addition, a diet and exercise plan will also be implemented during the anticipated time on study treatment of 52 weeks. The target sample size is 200-400 patients.
The purpose of this study is compare the effects of simvastatin+ezetimibe with those of simvastatin alone on platelet activity, platelet-leukocyte interactions and inflammatory variables in diabetic patients with or without impaired renal function.
A randomized clinical trial to determine if vitamin D repletion in CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) patients with low vitamin D levels will decrease proteinuria, a marker of kidney damage.
To evaluate the effect of renal impairment on the pharmacokinetics (PK) of teduglutide following subcutaneous (SC) administration of 10 mg teduglutide. Secondary objectives are to assess the safety and tolerability of 10 mg teduglutide. A further objective is the description of the PK of teduglutide following SC administration of 10 mg teduglutide in elderly (≥ 65 years) healthy subjects compared to non elderly healthy subjects.
The purpose of this study is to compare high dose furosemide in combination with low volume hypertonic saline solution (2.4%) with intermittent pulse dose furosemide in patients with pre treatment kidney function impairment. The hypothesis is that it will provide effective diuretic response and have a beneficial effect on preservation of renal function as compared to pulse furosemide in patients with pre-treatment renal impairment (GFR < 60 mL/min).
Colistin is a relatively old antibiotic drug which its use has been abandoned through the 1970s because it was considered nephrotoxic. Recently ( the last decade) it has been reappraised because multidrug resistant Gram negative bacteria have emerged causing life threatening infections with no other good enough treatment. Moreover, more controlled studies from the recent years show less toxic effect of the drug. The investigators' study is a prospective study comparing renal function in a group of hospitalized patients with sepsis (infection) receiving intravenous treatment with Colistin (antibiotics) with a control group which its patients receive other non nephrotoxic antibiotics. The investigators' study hypothesis is that patients receiving Colistin would have renal function decline in higher rates than those seen usually in hospitalized patients in the Internal medicine wards with sepsis. Another goal of the study is to find correlation between Colistin levels in the plasma (after Colistin reaches steady state) and nephrotoxicity seen during or after use of this drug.
