Filter by:This study will allow us to determine the perceived Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQL) a year after ICU discharge, and compare it with HRQL measured earlier on in the process, as well as analyse the negative experiences they had while in the ICU and as a result of MV and their impact over time. It will also allow us to assess the effect of Nursing Sensitive Outcomes and ICU stressors on health-related outcomes and how they affect HRQL.
BACKGROUND: Individual approaches at the workplace might not be sufficient to control Work Related Musculoskeletal Diseases (WMSDs) since they are multifactorial and refractory cases might need an additional rehabilitation program. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate multifaceted intervention efficacy to manage the WMSDs. METHODS: A Nordic musculoskeletal questionnaire was applied pre and post intervention to determine the efficacy of a multifaceted program, including ergonomics, exercise program and acupuncture/physical therapy exercises orientation at the workplace in 126 workers of a hearing-aid industry. Additionally, a self-perception survey (Likert scale) concerning absenteeism, quality of life and work ability helped to evaluate the program that lasts one year and ten months.
The purpose of this study is to determine if an eight week multimodal Relaxation Response Resiliency Program (3RP) intervention can effectively improve symptom severity, frequency and quality of life (Q.O.L) in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients. This will be measured by a reduction in AF symptom score, perceived stress, anxiety, hostility and depression.
Current study aims to analyze the outcomes of j-pouch and side-to-end anastomosis in rectal cancer patients treated with laparoscopic hand-assisted low anterior resection
This is a prospective randomized study, comparing quality of life in renal stone patients undergoing surgical treatment with ureteroscopy (URS) versus percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL).
The investigators goal is to create a better understanding of patient reported outcomes for bladder management strategies (clean intermittent catheterization (CIC), indwelling catheter (IDC) and bladder surgery.
This training program is a part of Happy Family Kitchen Movement Project, which is a community-based research project with 3 main components for data collection - training programs, community-based family interventions and public education events. The training program involves various organizations, including non-government organizations and schools across districts in different regions of Hong Kong. In the study, the investigators would use training programs as a capacity building method and an essential media delivering the holistic health knowledge (positive psychology, physical activity, healthy diet) to the public. The project team will provide training program for the participants, including: (i) train-the-trainer workshops for the social service workers, who will conduct community-based family intervention programs; and (ii) train-the-trainer ambassadors for the volunteers who may assist to implement health-related activities for the public.
This project aims to investigate the physical, mental and cognitive recovery after admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This will be done by a three and 12 month follow up after discharge. The patients will be scored with four validated methods for evaluating their health related quality of life, anxiety and depression, cognitive function and physical impairments
Worksites offer attractive locations for reducing the national prevalence of overweight and obesity. Interventions that are both effective and sustainable for producing long-term changes in health and employee wellness are urgently needed. In an 18-month worksite randomized controlled trial in 12 worksites, this study will test two lifestyle approaches designed to facilitate behavior modification for achieving long-term improvements in health and quality of life. Worksites randomized to the immediate intervention arm will receive the two on-site wellness programs and the randomized control sites will participate in outcomes assessments for the initial 6-month period, after which participants will receive vouchers to participate in the program of their choice. The primary focus of the worksite wellness study is to identify ways to improve health-related quality of life, with a particular focus on a decrease in cardiometabolic risk factors, including weight, improved weight-related wellness, and improved energy level in work and life. The two interventions will be separately tested against the control condition in intention-to-treat models and with a completers analysis.
The objective of this study is to measure economic burden of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) from a new point of view that includes consequences of disability on Quality Of Life (QOL), social participation and capabilities of patients and caregivers. To the investigators' knowledge, there is currently no data including intangible costs related to caregivers and calculating the overall economic cost of Multiple Sclerosis, particularly, in France.
