Filter by:This study is a prospective, quasi-experimental design, with an experimental group and a control group, will be created. The aims of this study are as follows: 1. Describe the self-management and information needs of liver transplant recipients, 2. Create content or modules related to the self-management of liver transplant recipients, 3. Build an intelligent case management platform, 4. Evaluate the usability of the platform, and 5. Conduct deep learning and examine the effects of the intelligent case management platform on self-efficacy, self-management, health outcomes, and health-related quality of life. Data will be collected at discharge (baseline data) and 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months after discharge. An estimated 133 patients will be involved in this experiment: 44 in the experimental group and 89 in the control group. Statistical package software (SPSS 22.0) will be used to analyze the data. A generalized estimation equation model will examine the differences in self-efficacy, self-management, and health-related quality of life between the experimental and control groups. Survival analysis and the Kaplan-Meier method will be used to analyze health outcomes, including hospital readmission, emergency visits, episodes of infection and rejection of organs, and death.
The plant Melissa officinalis L. is commonly used to treat disorders related to anxiety and sleep quality. It contains several phytochemicals that give it antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antimicrobial, and neuroprotective properties. A study on subjects with mild to moderate anxiety and sleep disorders showed that an extract of Melissa officinalis reduced anxiety manifestations by 18%, improved symptoms associated with anxiety by 15%, and reduced insomnia by 42%. However, that study did not have a control group, so a randomized trial with a control group is needed. The objective of the study will be to evaluate the beneficial effects of a phytosome-formulated Melissa officinalis extract on sleep duration and different stages of sleep, which will be monitored using a wrist device. She will be provided with a wrist device that will be used for sleep monitoring. The trial will last for 45 days, in which she will be asked to take the phytosome-formulated Melissa supplement for two 14-day periods (2 tablets, 30 minutes before bedtime). There will be a 7-day break in the intake period between the two periods. At the beginning, middle, and end of the trial, you will be asked to answer some questionnaires.
The goal of this observational study is detecting the dominant component of mixed urinary incontinence via a combined version of ICIQ-SF and quality of life scale. The main question it aims to answer is: 1. Which component (urgency or stress) urinary incontinence bothers the patient more?
The goal of this observational study is to evaluate the effect of frailty on blood biology indicators, quality of life and survival of patients with radical prostatectomy. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Evaluate the impact of frailty on the blood biological indicators, quality of life and survival of patients with radical prostatectomy, specifically. 2. Describe the longitudinal changes in the quality of life of patients with radical prostatectomy. Participants will be divided into frail group or non-frail group based on frailty assessment. Researchers will compare the two groups to see the impact of frailty on the blood biological indicators, quality of life and survival.
The goal of this randomized clinical trial is to compare patient-reported pain and oral health-related quality of life during the first postoperative week following extraction and bone graft surgery in patients who received preemptive ibuprofen versus placebo. Participants will receive ibuprofen 600mg or placebo by mouth with water 1 hour prior to extraction and bone graft surgery. The primary question it aims to answer is: • Does preemptive ibuprofen have an effect on postoperative pain 1 hour following extraction and bone graft surgery compared to placebo? Secondary questions are: - Does preemptive ibuprofen have an effect on pain during the first 3 postoperative hours and 7 postoperative days following extraction and bone graft surgery compared to placebo? - Does preemptive ibuprofen have an effect on oral health-related quality of life during the 7 postoperative days following extraction and bone graft surgery compared to placebo?
The goal of this randomized study is to assess the impact on self-perceived quality of life (QoL) of systematic screening and early treatment of aftereffects in patients with gynaecological cancers. The main question it aims to answer is if systematic screening with validated questionaries (see in detailed description), diagnosis and early treatment of lower-limb lymphoedema, anxiety-depression, sexual dysfunction and sarcopenia-malnutrition all have a positive impact on the self-perceived QoL by gynaecological cancer patients. Participants will access the screening questionnaires and QoL questionaries on a free online app on their mobile devices. In the experimental group, in case of positive screening, patients will be referred to specialised care to early treatment of the aftereffects. Researchers will compare this group with standard usual care (opportunistic treatment) to see if systematic screening and early treatment lead to a better QoL.
This study was planned to evaluate the effectiveness of a yoga-based psychosocial development program developed in line with the literature to improve the social, emotional and behavioral skills and quality of life of healthy preschool children. Watson's Human Care Model constitutes the theoretical framework of the study. The sample of the study, which will be conducted in a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test control group, consists of healthy children aged 60-72 months. The g*power 3.1.9.4 program was used to determine the sample size and it was determined that there should be at least 34 people in each group. The program consists of moving music activities, yoga postures accompanied by stories, breathing techniques and self-massage practices. The program will be implemented by the researcher, who has received specialty training in child yoga, for 30 minutes a day, two days a week for 6 weeks. Data will be collected using the Parent and Child Descriptive Data Form, Program Participation Form, Child Self-Assessment Form, Social Emotional Well-Being and Psychological Resilience Scale for Preschool Children, Social Competence and Behavior Rating Scale-30 and Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory. As a result of this study, positive effects are expected on the social, emotional, behavioral skills and quality of life of children to whom the psychosocial development program is applied.

The purpose of this randomized controlled superiority trial is to evaluate the impact of occupational therapy assessment and intervention on the quality of life of elderly cancer patients. Patients will be randomized into 3 parallel, multicenter arms with patient-reported outcome and blinded evaluator. - Experimental group A will combine the assessment of occupational problems (MCRO) and an occupational therapy intervention. - Experimental group B will have only the MCRO assessment because the occupational problems assessment alone (without intervention) could improve quality of life and occupational performance outcomes, according to the Nielsen, 2019 study - Group C will have the usual cancer management care combining specific treatments and supportive care.
