It is now known that the level of patients' expectations about a treatment (intervention, medication) can influence their prognosis. Positive expectations impact the effectiveness of the intervention, while negative expectations may lead to adverse events. It would therefore be useful to measure these expectations. However, there is no standardized questionnaire to report the overall level of expectation in the pre-operative phase. A team (led by Pr Meike C Shedden-Mora) has recently developed a questionnaire that aims to assess a patient's general level of expectation regarding a therapeutic intervention, taking into account the direct benefits and the expected adverse effects. This questionnaire, the brief version of the treatment expectation questionnaire (TEX-Q) is composed of 15 items. There's currently no French translation of the TEX-Q, nor has it been tested on a population scheduled for surgery. In addition to expectations regarding the surgical procedure, patients seem to have various expectations regarding the impact and specific role of anesthesia. Little literature exists on specific expectations regarding the role of anesthesia. Thus, we believe it is necessary to validate a French version of the TEX-Q questionnaire (TEX-Q-F) applied to the context of scheduled surgery, as well as to evaluate the specific expectations of anesthesia.
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines adolescents as those people between 10 and 19 years of age. Adolescence is a critical developmental stage especially in the context of living with a chronic disease (CD), a chronic disease can be defined as "physiological, behavioral or cognitive disorder that has lasted for one year and produces one or more types of consequences: functional constraints, dependency on compensatory assistance for functioning, or increased need of service compared with age-mates". The burden of chronic conditions in adolescence is increasing as larger numbers of chronically ill children survive beyond the age of 10. Over 85% of children with congenital or chronic conditions now survive into adolescence, and conditions once seen only in young children are now seen beyond childhood and adolescence.

In an effort to reduce rural-urban disparities and improve the quality of cancer care for these patients, the objectives of this study will be to: (1) adapt the intervention to maximize effectiveness for rural, low-income patients, (2) test the effectiveness of the adapted intervention, and (3) prepare for implementation of the intervention in rural, low-income communities.
The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of trazodone as compared to quetiapine and placebo, in the management of ICU delirium in adult (>=18 years old) surgical ICU patients. The investigators will compare outcomes such as delirium incidence and duration, in-hospital mortality, 28-day mortality, hospital length of stay (LOS), ICU LOS, mechanical ventilator days, complications, adverse effects, rescue medication use, delirium symptom severity, sleep duration, and sleep quality among participants receiving trazodone, quetiapine, or placebo. The investigators hypothesize participants receiving trazodone will have a shorter duration of delirium, decreased delirium severity, and improved sleep quality compared to participants receiving quetiapine and placebo.
The effectiveness of balneotherapy in relieving chronic low back pain has been scientifically proven. This project aims to study in what extent a Balneotherapy program in São Pedro do Sul Thermal Baths influences chronic low back pain of individuals aged 65 and above, and in what order of magnitude it happens, on which domains (functional, psychological, biophysical and socioeconomic) and it's repercussions. For that, the investigators intended to carry out a project subdivided into two tasks. The first, and the most complex, with a holistic approach, will be carried out by a randomized controlled study (RCT) with focus on the various biopsychosocial domains of patients with chronic lumbar pain. Concerning the second task, another RCT will be carried out aiming for statistically significant changes in the lumbar thermographic maps before and after treatment, as well as the theoretical framework of all the findings.
