Filter by:The purpose of this study is to evaluate if an occupational therapy lifestyle program for community-dwelling older adults delivered individually through a telehealth platform can produce comparable outcomes in health-related qualify of life and occupational performance as found in studies that used a longer duration and group intervention.
Shift work is associated with disturbed life rhythms resulting from chronic exposure to circadian misalignment and sleep restriction, with long-term participation in most shift schedules causing serious health problems. Epidemiological data show that shift workers are at increased risk of sleepiness, fatigue and insomnia, cardiovascular disease, breast cancer and shift-work disorder. Prevalence estimates of shift-work disorder vary between 5% and 26,5%. Given these widespread and serious health and functional consequences of shift work, there is a necessity for treatments that improve shift workers' health and work performance. Most non-pharmacological recommendations mention improved scheduling, bright-light exposure, napping, psychoeducation fostering sleep hygiene, and cognitive-behavioral interventions. The effects of shift work on the health, fatigue and sleepiness of drivers have been robustly investigated in observational studies, as well as the effects of single measures such as scheduling or resting times. But studies on the effectiveness of countermeasures against the adverse impact of shift work are sparse, especially for high-risk populations such as professional drivers and controlled intervention studies are lacking. Several other investigators expounded the need for a multi-level approach to managing occupational sleep-related fatigue and workplace interventions to promote sleep and health of shift workers. Highlighting the high public-health burden associated with lack of recuperative sleep, the authors pointed out the pressing need to develop policies and implement programs aimed at improving workers' sleep health. With SHIFTPLAN, the investigators aim to fill this gap in comprehensive approaches. To their knowledge, this is the first randomised controlled trial to systematically gauge the effect of a multimodal program that includes ergonomic shift scheduling and an educational program on well-defined health, sleep and performance outcomes in professional drivers.
This study will assess "myHealthhub" in hospitalized older adults throughout 5 days of their hospital stay. The investigators propose a mixed method randomized controlled trial (RCT) comparing myHealthHub platform vs. a simplified HealthHub system that provides only TV access, in order to evaluate patients' loneliness, stress, quality of life, patient engagement, and other mental health outcomes in n=60 older adult inpatients. The investigators will also use qualitative methods to assess user and stakeholder experience, and engagement.
The aim of project EMPACOL will be to investigate, while taking into consideration the clinical factors known and well described in the literature, among the non-clinical factors, in particular, patient-healthcare personnel (HCP) relationship, a link between HCP's empathy perceived by the patient, and the results of the curative treatment of non-metastatic colorectal cancer, throughout the patient's care.

To determine the effectiveness of the "Free From Pain" Exercise Book containing the preformulated 12-week "Free From Pain" exercise programme in reducing pain, improving quality of life and decreasing fear of falling in people over 60 years of age when compared to usual care (referral to physiotherapy).
This is study designed to confirm the effectiveness of the Sana Device in patients with pain due to fibromyalgia on quality of life as measured by the Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire Revised (FIQR). It is a two arm study in which subjects will be randomly assigned to either active device group or sham-controlled group.
Home ventilation in children, invasive or non invasiv,e is an interesting treatment for different disease which cause chronic respiratory impairement. The aim of this treatment is to support alveolar hypoventilation. Concerned diseases are : neuro-muscular disease, upper airways pathologies, whest wall or lung pathologies, central control ventilation disease. Prevalence of home children ventilation is in augmentation in France. The last national study in 2021 about infants show a prevalence of 9.3/100 000. Advantages with home children ventilation in addition of improvement of survey, we can observe improvement of quality of life and improvement of the quality of their sleep. Quality of life is a thematic less studying. Last studies show an impairment of quality of life in all thematics compare to children with no disease but also with infants whith chronic diseases. This study were about few numbers of patients. The aim of our study is to evaluate the quality of life and the quality of sleep in children with home ventilation to complete the actual littérature to improve the respiratory care of this population.
In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the effect of progressive muscle relaxation exercise on dysmenorrhea, menstrual symptoms and quality of life in university students with common primary dysmenorrhea. The research is a single center, parallel group block randomized controlled experimental study. This study will be conducted in the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, of a state university in Turkey. The universe of the research will be Gazi University Faculty of Health Sciences, third year and last year nursing students (N: 451). In order to determine the sample size in the research, power analysis was performed using the G Power 3.1.0 program. For this purpose, the study results of Sis Çelik and Ejder Apay (2021), which were similar to our study, were taken as reference. According to the power analysis made by calculating the effect size; It was determined that the sample of the study should consist of a total of 42 people, 21 in each group, will be randomized. The data of the research; Personal information form will be collected using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), SF-12 Quality of Life Scale Short Form, Menstrual Symptom Scale, Dysmenorrhea Monitoring Form. The implementation of the research is planned between April 15, 2022 and August 15, 2022. Third and fourth year nursing students will be included in the study. First of all, it will be evaluated according to the sampling inclusion criteria using the pre-evaluation form. Women who meet the inclusion criteria will be informed about the purpose and importance of the research, and women who agree to participate in the study will be determined. Informed consent form will be signed by the women who accepted to participate in the study, Visual Analogue Scale, Menstrual Symptom Scale and SF 12 Short Form will be applied. Randomization will be done after obtaining consent and filling out the forms.
Multicenter, Retrospectivecohort study in patients with Chronic Prostatitis, Chronic Bacterial Prostatitis (Category II) and Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (Category IIIA, IIIB) and 140 patients without other significant comorbidities will be participated. The aim of the study is to collect post-treatment data to evaluate inflammation, infection status and quality of life with standard antibiotic therapy with NSAID and added Treataprost effect.
