Meta-Analysis of Stress Myocardial Perfusion Imaging

Start date: August 3, 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Background: Detection of coronary artery disease (CAD) is important due to its high prevalence and its medical and economic implications. Purpose: A systematic review of the diagnostic performance of stress echocardiography (Echo), SPECT, cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR), CT Perfusion (CTP) and PET versus invasive coronary angiography (ICA) or fractional flow reserve (FFR) using hierarchical summary ROC (HSROC) methods. Data Sources: MEDLINE, EMBASE and SCOPUS for literature published in English or Spanish from January 1970 to December 2015. Study Selection: For inclusion, studies had to meet the Cochrane guidelines, had to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity methods, and use ICA and/or FFR. Only those studies with STARD methodology ≥60% were included. Data Extraction: Ten investigators extracted patient and study characteristics and 4 resolved any disagreements.

NCT ID: NCT03179709 Completed - Clinical trials for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Provider Perceptions of Neuromuscular Blockade in ARDS

Start date: July 1, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The proposed study will use qualitative methodology to understand health care provider perceptions of neuromuscular blockade (NMB) in patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). To achieve this goal the investigators will conduct a prospective ancillary study at four clinical centers participating in the NHLBI PETAL network as part of the ROSE (Reevaluation of Systemic Early Neuromuscular Blockade) clinical trial (NCT02509078). Using thematic content analysis of semistructured interviews with health care providers caring for patients enrolled in the ROSE trial the investigators will determine the barriers to NMB use and develop a framework for future NMB adoption in ARDS.

NCT ID: NCT03178526 Completed - Clinical trials for Alveolar Bone Loss, Chronic Periodontitis, Lovestatin Gel, Regeneration

The Effect of Lovastatin Gel in the Treatment of Chronic Periodontitis

Start date: December 24, 2015
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Aim: dis double-blind split-mouth clinical trial study was performed to evaluate teh clinical and radiographic effect of local delivery of lovastatin gel as an adjunct to scaling and root planning (SRP) in teh treatment of chronic periodontitis. Method and Materials: 15 patients with two mandibular molar teeth with probing depth (PD)≥3 mm, clinical attachment level (CAL)≥3 mm and bone loss more than 3 mm according to parallel periapical x-ray and distance from CEJ to alveolar crest, were selected.Totally 24 mandibular molars were selected for teh study. Clinical periodontal parameters included PD, CAL, bleeding index(BI), plaque index(PI) were recorded for teh selected teeth at baseline and at 1,3 and 6 months. Radiographic assessments were performed at baseline and after 6 months. At one side teh pockets around randomly selected molar were injected with a blunt syringe filled with lovastatin gel 1.2%( case group=B), and on teh other side, teh pockets were filled with a placebo gel by a blunt syringe ( control group=A).Two-way repeated measure ANOVA test and T-test were used for statistic analysis Spss 23.( P<0.05) was considered significant.

NCT ID: NCT03178513 Completed - Clinical trials for A Patient Discharged From an Acute-care Hospital Who Had an Acute Illness

Post-Acute Physician Home Visit Program

Start date: June 6, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

New or worsening symptoms following discharge from the hospital likely leads to unplanned readmission. These rates are higher than desired and costly to patients, payers, and providers. Many interventions have unsuccessfully attempted to reduce readmissions, but few have provided in-home personnel to patients transitioning from acute care back to ambulatory care. Still fewer have involved a physician in the home. We therefore will test the effect of a physician home visit to a patient's home who was discharged in the last 4 days.

NCT ID: NCT03178019 Completed - Overweight Clinical Trials

DPP4 Activity, Microvascular Reactivity and Inflammation

DPP4

NCT ID: NCT03177460 Completed - Clinical trials for Prostate Adenocarcinoma

Daratumumab or FMS Inhibitor JNJ-40346527 Before Surgery in Treating Patients With High-Risk, Resectable Localized or Locally Advanced Prostate Cancer

Start date: June 7, 2017
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This phase I trial studies the side effects of daratumumab or FMS inhibitor JNJ-40346527 before surgery in treating patients with high-risk prostate cancer that can be removed by surgery and has not spread to other parts of the body or has spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as daratumumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spreadFMS inhibitor JNJ-40346527 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving daratumumab or FMS inhibitor JNJ-40346527 before surgery may work better in treating patients with prostate cancer.
