Healthy volunteers (n = 28) were recruited from the workplace (14 male, 14 female; age range 20-50 years). Ethical approval, which included informed consent, was from Cardiff University, Schools of Medicine and Dentistry Research Ethics Committee (SMREC16/02). Following a 2-week period free from non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), peripheral blood was obtained and platelets isolated. Participants were commenced on aspirin 75 mg once daily for seven days and then provided a repeat blood sample. Following a 2-month period, participants were invited to repeat samples pre- and post-aspirin, and again a third time 2 months later.

This is a pilot study to assess the safety and measure image-based absorbed dose of 177Lu-P17-087/177Lu-P17-088 in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) who will undergo radioliagnd therapy using 177Lu-P17-087/177Lu-P17-088. All patients underwent whole-body 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT for selection and accepted intravenous injection with single dose 1.1 GBq (30 mCi) of 177Lu-P17-087/177Lu-P17-088 within one week, then monitored at 1.5 hours, 4 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 120 hours and 168 hours after 177Lu-P17-087/177Lu-P17-088 administration with serial whole body planar and SPECT/CT imaging.

Investigation of Myocardial Protection Level With Specific Cardioplegia Methods in Cardiac Surgery

Investigating the myocardial effects of cold blood cardioplegia and del nido cardioplegia solution, which are routinely used in clinical practice, will contribute to the studies in the literature on the safety and efficacy of these two methods. For this purpose, patients with coronary artery disease that going to be Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) surgery will be classified within the scope of the SYNTAX score, the level of exposure to cardioplegia change in proportion to their score will be examined. Also, left ventricular muscle mass will be calculated in patients who will undergo Aortic Valve replacement (AVR) due to Aortic Stenosis, and myocardial protection level proportional to muscle mass will be examined, and cardioplegia efficiency will be compared.

Acne is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition. It may cause scars and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIHP). PIHP frequently affects individuals with a phototype of IV or above.[1] PIHP is worsened by UV radiation, lasts for years and impacts the individual well-being.[2, 3] In an observational study, 1785 adults with a phototype ranging from IV to VI with acne and PIHP applied daily for 2 months a dermocosmetic and a tainted sunscreen product (DC, Effaclar® Duo (+); SS, Anthelios® Shaka Fluide SPF 50+, SS; both La Roche-Posay Laboratoire Dermatologique, France.

The publication of a Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) is often not enough for its correct use in the field of health care. There are barriers to the implementation of the CPG recommendations, including those related to the lack of knowledge or skills on the part of health service providers. Strategies have been proposed to improve the implementation of the CPGs through interventions with different levels of effectiveness, such as the use of reminders, informative meetings, sending educational material, audits, among others. Some of these interventions can be carried out through Telehealth strategies, that is, with remote services. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a Telehealth program to improve the implementation of the Clinical Practice Guideline for diagnosis and preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative treatment of the amputee, the prescription of the prosthesis and comprehensive rehabilitation, through strategies to publicize the recommendations included in the CPG and train doctors, reducing the barriers related to the lack of knowledge of the CPG. For this, two groups of institutions that provide health services in Antioquia will be compared, randomized according to two interventions: the socialization of the recommendations of the CPG for amputees, against a combined strategy of education through a Telehealth platform and the delivery of educational material. Compliance with prioritized recommendations of the CPG will be evaluated, related to surgical techniques, perioperative practices, the prescription of prosthetic components and referral to services that allow the comprehensive rehabilitation of the person with amputation. Additionally, the theoretical knowledge of the doctors of each participating institution before and after the interventions will be evaluated through a written test.
