NCT ID: NCT00484887 Terminated - Hernia Clinical Trials

Characterization of Explanted Hernia Meshes From Human Subjects: A Multi-Center, Prospective Study

Start date: April 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

This study will collect a large amount of hernia mesh explants and study the changes that occur in the materials in vivo to use the information to help design new mesh made from novel materials. We will have evidence that our current options are not only inadequate but can lead to complications. One of our main goals is to convince our colleagues to change their surgical practice by publishing and educating them with this data.

NCT ID: NCT00484822 Terminated - Clinical trials for Long-term Oral Anticoagulant Therapy

Bemiparin Randomized Trial on Bridging Oral Anticoagulants in Invasive Procedures (BERTA Study)

BERTA
Start date: February 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Often it is necessary to temporarily discontinue OAT when surgical or other invasive procedures are required. However, there is no consensus on the optimal management in these situations, and heparin bridging therapy is the current usual practice in these situations. No large randomized, controlled clinical trials have been yet performed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a low molecular weight heparins (LMWH) as bridging therapy.

NCT ID: NCT00484601 Terminated - Clinical trials for Refractory Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Ifosfamide and Doxorubicin in Patients With Refractory Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Start date: April 15, 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This research is to test the effectiveness and toxicity of both Ifosfamide and Doxorubicin. It also aims to explore the relationship between EBV DNA and clinical response in patients with advanced naso-pharyngeal cancer which has been previously treated with chemotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT00482625 Terminated - Clinical trials for Stage III Pancreatic Cancer

Erlotinib Hydrochloride in Treating Patients With Pancreatic Cancer That Can Be Removed by Surgery

Start date: June 2007
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Erlotinib hydrochloride may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving erlotinib hydrochloride before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed. This phase II trial is studying how well erlotinib hydrochloride works in treating patients with pancreatic cancer that can be removed by surgery

NCT ID: NCT00482053 Terminated - Clinical trials for Lymphoma, Non-Hodgkin

Phase 2 Poor Risk DLBCL of TLI and ATG Followed by Matched Allogeneic HT as Consolidation to Autologous HCT

Start date: October 2006
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine if double autologous then allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant may offer an improved treatment option for patients with relapsed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) who are not likely to be cured by the conventional transplantation regimen.

NCT ID: NCT00482040 Terminated - Clinical trials for Apnea of Prematurity

Randomized Trial Investigating Four Nasal CPAP Systems in the Management of Apnea of Prematurity

Start date: March 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate four different nasal continuous pressure systems, which are usually applied on our neonatal intensive care unit, with regard of their effect on bradycardia and desaturations in preterm infants.

NCT ID: NCT00481936 Terminated - Clinical trials for Neoplasms, Glandular and Epithelial

Study of the Safety of VB6-845 in Patients With Advanced Solid Tumours of Epithelial Origin

Start date: May 2007
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of VB6-845 and to evaluate the safety and tolerability of VB6-845 when administered as a monotherapy IV infusion to patients with advanced solid tumour of epithelial origin.

NCT ID: NCT00481377 Terminated - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

Ablation for ICD Intervention Reduction in Patients With CAD

ABLATION 4 ICD
Start date: May 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to assess the role of ablation in appropriate ICD interventions reduction in patients with coronary artery disease. The group will consist of 200 patients with implanted ICD and appropriate intervention in the 3 months prior to enrollment. The patients will be randomized into ablation arm and conventional treatment. Number of appropriate ICD interventions is the primary endpoint of this study. All patients will have control follow-up visits every 3 months. The follow-up will be based on ICD memory.

NCT ID: NCT00478140 Terminated - Malignant Neoplasm Clinical Trials

Trastuzumab in Treating Patients With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Gallbladder Cancer or Bile Duct Cancer That Cannot Be Removed by Surgery

Start date: May 2007
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial is studying how well trastuzumab works in treating patients with locally advanced or metastatic gallbladder cancer or bile duct cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. Monoclonal antibodies, such as trastuzumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them

NCT ID: NCT00473889 Terminated - Clinical trials for Stage IIIB or IV Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

A Clinical Trial of Vorinostat (MK0683, SAHA) in Combination With FDA Approved Cancer Drugs in Patients With Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)(0683-056)

Start date: May 2007
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This Phase III clinical trial which incorporates an initial Phase II component will determine the survival of advanced Non-small cell lung cancer patients when treated with MK0683 and paclitaxel plus carboplatin
