Reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) has become an established treatment for cuff arthropathy, severe osteoarthritis and in certain fracture cases. Due to the increasingly aging population, patients who have already exceeded their life-expectancy pose a significant challenge to the shoulder surgeon. Therefore, we wanted to investigate patient demographics, hospital stay length, complication rate functional outcome, patient reported outcome scores and mortality retrospectively for patients, who were older than 83 years at time of implantation of a RTSA.

Background: The aim of the study is to find out the prevelance of VDR (rs731236), IL1B (rs1143634) and IL1A (rs1800587)gene polymorphisms in Turkish population and their association with stage III grade B / C periodontitis. Methods: Individuals who were found to be systemically and periodontally healthy (N = 100) after clinical and radiographic examination and who were diagnosed with Stage III Grade B / C periodontitis (N = 100) were included in the study. Gingival index, Plaque index, bleeding on probing, clinical attachment level and pocket depths of the patients were recorded. subjects genotyped for rs731236, rs1143634 and rs1800587 gene polymorphisms with Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction.

This is a feasibility study at a single site, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Patients undergoing anthracycline chemotherapy for Hodgkin disease and soft-tissue and bone sarcoma who meet eligibility requirements will be approached to participate in the study. The purpose of the study is to determine if performing remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) is feasible in children and young adults receiving anthracycline chemotherapy. The secondary purpose is to describe differences in markers of myocardial injury and stress in children and young adults that receive RIC prior to anthracycline chemotherapy compared to control subjects that receive sham therapy prior to chemotherapy.

3-year Follow-up of the Mind My Mind RCT

This is a three-year follow up of a previously completed randomized clinical trial (RCT) of a transdiagnostic cognitive and behavioral (CBT) program ("Mind My Mind" [MMM]) compared to management as usual (MAU) in youth with emotional and behavioral problems. The effectiveness trial (Clinical Trials Identifier: NCT03535805) evaluated an intervention for help-seeking youth with emotional and behavioral health problems below the threshold for referral to specialized treatment. The experimental intervention MMM consisted of 9-13 weekly, individual therapy sessions delivered by psychologists in a non-specialist school-based setting. The CBT-methods were organized in modules for anxiety, depression and/or behavioral problems, and the therapy was completed within 17 weeks. The MAU was enhanced by two care-coordination visits to help coordinate the usual care in the four municipalities in Denmark. The trial was conducted in four diverse municipalities in Denmark. The aim of this study is to determine the long-term effects of the transdiagnostic, modular CBT program ("Mind My Mind" [MMM]) compared to management as usual (MAU). The three-year follow-up of the RCT of MMM versus MAU is nested in a larger study of help-seeking youth screened for eligibility and stratified into three groups with increasing severity of problems. Youths with an intermediate level of problems were included in the RCT. We screened 573 help-seeking youths, and we included and randomized a total of 396 youths (age 6-16 years, with anxiety, depressive symptoms, and/or behavioral problems) to MMM (n=197) or MAU (n=199). The study participants comprise the 396 youths and their parents who participated in the RCT. We will use the help-seeking population and the background population in the four municipalities as reference groups. The follow-up study does not include an intervention. The long-term outcome of MMM versus MAU will be investigated using parent-reported questionnaires administered in average three years after random allocation to intervention. All study participants are followed in the Danish national registries.

Comparison of the Effectiveness of Different Conservative Treatment Protocols in Postprostatectomy Urinary Incontinence

The main purpose of this study is to reveal the effectiveness of the Knack maneuver and lifestyle recommendations program to be given in addition to the pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) program, which has been proven to be effective in individuals with urinary incontinence symptoms after prostatectomy. This study is a prospective, controlled, randomized clinical trial. The study includes an 8-week pelvic floor muscle training, Knack maneuver and lifestyle recommendations. In summary, it is stated in the literature that PFMT and lifestyle recommendations are beneficial in the treatment of urinary incontinence (UI). However, although there is evidence of the effectiveness of the Knack maneuver in stress UI in women, there is no evidence of the Knack maneuver in urinary incontinence after prostatectomy. On the other hand, the literature on the effect of lifestyle recommendations after prostatectomy is very limited. Therefore, the aim of this study is to reveal the effectiveness of the Knack maneuver and lifestyle recommendations program, which will be given in addition to the PFMT program, which has been demonstrated in individuals with UI complaints after radical prostatectomy, in a randomized controlled design.
