Filter by:In non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (NIDCM), left ventricular reverse remodeling (LVRR) can be achieved through guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT). LVRR is defined as an increase in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of more than 10% in heart failure patients with a baseline LVEF of 40% or less, or an increase in LVEF of more than 40% at follow-up, which is classified as heart failure with improved EF (HFimpEF) according to current guidelines. Several studies have examined the prevalence and predictors of LVRR in NIDCM. However, there is a lack of research on LVRR in the context of contemporary pharmacotherapy. Studies have demonstrated the beneficial effects of ivabradine in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), improving patients' prognosis. A sub-study of the SHIFT trial indicated that ivabradine may also contribute to cardiac remodeling reversal in patients with HFrEF. However, there is limited evidence exploring the relationship between ivabradine and LVRR, particularly in the context of NIDCM. Consequently, this study is a retrospective, multi-center cohort study aiming to evaluate the impact of ivabradine on LVRR in patients with NIDCM in the current era of medical therapy. Furthermore, by conducting this study, we aim to gain insights into the potential role of ivabradine in promoting LVRR in NIDCM patients receiving contemporary drug therapy.
This clinical trial tests whether a geriatric optimization plan (GO!) works to improve survival in patients over 60 with a hematologic malignancy or bone marrow failure syndrome eligible for allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant. GO! focuses on creating a tailored and specific plan for each patient to make changes in their daily lives. These may include changes to their diet, sleep, activity, medicines, or even referrals to other providers depending on the patient's needs. Studying survival and quality of life in patients over 60 receiving an allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant may help identify the effects of treatment.
The purpose of this real-world study is to learn about the effects of 2 study medicines called enzalutamide and abiraterone used to treat metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men. The prostate is a gland in the male body that helps make semen. Most prostate cancers need male sex hormones, such as testosterone, to grow. Prostate cancer that keeps growing even when the amount of testosterone in the body is reduced to very low levels is known as "castration-resistant". Metastatic cancer is a cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. This is a real-world study, not a clinical trial. This means that researchers will look at what happens when men receive the treatments prescribed by their own doctor as part of their usual healthcare treatment. In this study, researchers will use information from the Flatiron Electronic Health Record (EHR) database. The study will include patients' information from the database for men who: - Were confirmed by medical tests to have mCRPC - Started first-line treatment with enzalutamide or abiraterone (index date) for mCRPC - Had not received chemotherapy treatment before index date - Were 18 years of age or older on index date Men who are part of this study will receive enzalutamide or abiraterone as part of their usual treatment for mCRPC. We will compare the following between men receiving enzalutamide and men receiving abiraterone: - time from treatment start until death, - treatment duration, and - time to next treatment. This study will use patient information from the database until the end of information that is available.
To assess the ability of RSVPreF3 OA investigational vaccine to generate an immune response when given in combination with HZ/su vaccine and its safety in older adults, aged >=50 years of age.
The study is a multi-center, multi-national, prospective surveillance study in which the study participants will not receive a study vaccine but will provide a baseline blood sample and be followed for acute respiratory disease during 6 months. The 6-month follow-up will occur for the most part during the Respiratory Syncytial Virus(RSV) season (based on enrollment timing and as per feasibility). A maximum of 1000 children from 6 to < 22 months of age are planned to be enrolled in 5 to 10 countries, 1 to 2 sites per country, targeting approximately 100 participants per country. The purpose of the study is to assess the seroprevalence and incidence of RSV disease during the study period in the targeted countries and sites for a Phase III vaccine study.
Children and adolescents with inherited cardiac arrhythmia su ch Long QT Syndrome (LQTS) have lower physical and quality of life than their healthy peers. A multi-component cardiac rehabilitation, including an exercise training program and education program, might counteract those effects. The goal of this pilot study is to evaluate the security, feasibility, and benefits of a cardiac rehabilitation program in children with LQTS aged between 6 to 18 years old. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Is center-based cardiac rehabilitation safe and feasible for children with LQTS? - Does a 12-week cardiac rehabilitation program improve physical fitness and quality of life?

At present, there are relatively clear treatment guidelines for colorectal cancer with oligometastases, while the treatment mode for resectable esophageal cancer with oligometastases is not clear and there is a lack of research results in this field. The aim of this study is to provide evidence of the optimal therapy model for the local resectable esophageal cancer with oligometastases ESCC patients, by investigating whether 2-year OS of the patients could benefit from additional local consolidative esophagectomy.
Study purpose: To evaluate if previously high-frequent (3-5 weekly) aflibercept treated neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) can be extended in their treatment interval when switched to faricimab. Primary objective: To assess the efficacy of faricimab compared to aflibercept in terms of durability at 32 weeks by extending treatment interval in previous high-frequent aflibercept treated nAMD.
Gastric cancer is the third leading cause of death due to cancer worldwide. Although the consensus on the surgical treatment has resulted in the improvement of curative effect during the past decades, controversies remained for the perioperative therapy of gastric cancer, especially in the selection of the optimal neoadjuvant regimens. Immunotherapy with anti-programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) antibody has demonstrated moderate efficacy in selected patients with advanced gastric adenocarcinoma. Hypofractionated radiotherapy (HypoRT) may act synergistically with immunotherapy to enhance antitumor responses. This phase II trial study want to exploit the efficacy and safety to give PD-1 antibody (Tislelizumab) with combination chemotherapy and HypoRT before surgery in treating adult patients with gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma.
