Filter by:This study is conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of sintilimab, bevacizumab plus Y-90 selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) for patients with unresectable intermediate-advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
The prognosis for pancreatic cancer remains dismal, with current guidelines favoring FOLFIRINOX or AG (consisting of Gemcitabine and Abraxane) as the primary chemotherapeutic option. However, research has indicated limited benefits for patients with pancreatic cancer undergoing immunotherapy using Anti-PD-1 antibodies. In this context, researchers aim to investigate the therapeutic potential of Sapropterin Dihydrochloride combined with PD-1 antibody in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer who failed to standard treatment.
In this study, investigators utilize a radiopathomics integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) supportive system to predict tumor response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) before its administration for patients with locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC). By the system, the postoperative tumor regression grade (TRG) of the participants will be identified based on the radiopathomics features extracted from the pre-nCRT Enhanced CT and biopsy images. The ability to predict TRG will be validated in this multicenter, prospective clinical study.
A Randomized, Double-blind, Multi-center, Phase III Clinical Study of AK112 or Placebo Combined With Pemetrexed and Carboplatin in Patients With EGFR-mutant Locally Advanced or Metastatic Non-squamous Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Who Have Progressed on or Following Growth Factor Receptor Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) Treatment (HARMONi)
This is a two-part, open-label, multicenter, dose escalation and dose expansion study designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PDx), and anti- tumor activity of ETX-19477, a novel reversible small molecule inhibitor of PARG.
This study will test the effectiveness of a behavioral intervention called Cuidando Juntos in Latino caregivers of people with dementia. The study will determine if the intervention improves the caregiver's loneliness, stress, burden, and depression.
Despite being exposed to a high level of potentially traumatic experiences due to exposure to combat, military veterans have poor response rates to traditional PTSD treatments, in some reports, just 1/3 of veterans recover using traditional treatments. In recent years 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), a psychedelic drug has demonstrated a significant treatment potential for severe and treatment resistant PTSD though not specifically in a veteran population. Additionally, even in groups where participants receive a placebo, the effect of the psychedelic treatment formulation, intensive, focused and respectful structure, appears to have promising effects. Indeed, in the current psychedelic literature, the setting and mind with which participant approach psychedelic therapy, significantly contributes to the treatment effect. The current study proposes to address the major gaps in the theoretical literature by examining the proposed mechanisms by which MDMA enhances the "window of tolerance" for PTSD therapy, specifically in those with comorbid symptoms of moral injury; namely by reducing hyperarousal and enhancing connection (to self and others) and whether MDMA assisted therapy is more successful in reducing PTSD in veterans compared to a matched somatic experiential PTSD treatment, Somatic Experiental Acceptance Intensive Trauma-based therapy, (SEA-IT) which builds upon the promising placebo results, enhancing them with somatic and acceptance based treatment protocols.
SATURATION is a prospective multicenter registry of consecutive patients who undergo coronary physiology testing using Pressure Wire X and Coroflow Coroventis Cardiovascular System software (Abbott Vascular, Abbott Park, IL, USA) and to assess the regional practice of patient selection, cardiovascular outcomes and additional procedures (stress testing, angiography, etc.) done after comprehensive invasive coronary physiology evaluation.
This study will examine the clinical effectiveness of Tafamidis in patients with Mixed Phenotype Transthyretin Amyloidosis using data that already exist in patients' medical records
Management of risk factors is the primary approach to prevent cardiovascular disease (CVD). In this regard the accurate scoring of disease risk is fundamental. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has emerged recently as a potential mediator of CVD onset and progression. The hypothesis is that NAFLD can be a predictive CVD risk factor, independent of other classical and well-known risk factors. Preliminary epidemiological studies suggested that the fat infiltration in the liver mirrored the cardiometabolic status of the patient. But recent studies postulate that NAFLD could be a potential independent predictor of vascular injury. The mechanisms that link liver function and endothelial damage include modulation of adipose tissue function, lipid metabolism regulation or glycemic homeostasis, among others. But new mechanisms that could link NAFLD and ECV are emerging. The synthesis of ketone bodies in the liver is closely related to the cardiovascular system function. Ketone bodies can provide up to 50% of energy required by specific tissues. Plasma concentration of β-hydroxybutyrate is a biomarker of NAFLD. Plasma β-hydroxybutyrate and acetoacetate levels are also inversely associated with endothelial injury. Other biomarkers on endothelial damage like von Willebrand factor, ICAM, VCAM or coagulation factors (Factor VIII) can be used to stratify patients according to the risk of CVD. The improvement in the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of scores such as FLI, HIS and FIB-4 and non-invasive techniques such as elastography allow the study of the relationship between liver disease and other comorbidities. The aim is to evaluate the potential of NAFLD to stratify patients according to the risk of CVD and to investigate the molecular mechanisms linking NAFLD and CVD.
