Filter by:Cord blood (CB) from an unrelated donor is increasingly used an alternative source of hematopoietic stem cells for adults with hematologic malignancies who lack an HLA-matched donor. However, the utilization of single-unit CB for transplantation of adult patients has been impeded by the low number of nucleated cells available from individual CB units. Direct intrabone CB injection (IBCBi) has been recently investigated as a solution to cell dose problem in adults, with the aims of minimizing non-specific loss of progenitors. We set up a phase I-II study to assess the safety and efficacy of CB transplantation by IBCBi in adult patients with advanced or high-risk hematological malignancies
To prospectively determine the prevalence of colorectal neoplasia in siblings of Hong Kong Chinese patients with advanced neoplasm compared with a sex and age-matched control population. To determine the molecular alteration profiles of colonic adenomas in siblings of patients with advanced neoplasm
Patients with recurrent glioblastoma who are planned to receive a second course of radiation are to be included into this monocentric cohort trial. Due to multiple pre-treatments simultaneous combined positron emission tomography (PET) with O-(2-[18F]fluoroethyl)-l-tyrosine (FET) as well as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is used for treatment planning and follow-up imaging as it allows for a better distinction between treatment-related changes and viable tumor tissue.
The goal of this study is two-fold: to establish a tissue banking respository (defined as blood, urine, soft tissue, tumor specimen, and normal tissue from areas surrounding tumor specimens), and to prospectively assess health related quality of life (QOL) over time in patients with a pathologically confirmed diagnosis of neoplasia receiving radiotherapy or photodynamic therapy (PDT)
This is a Phase II study in a single center to determine the efficacy of autologous dendritic cells (DCs) loaded with autogeneic glioma stem-like cells (A2B5+) administered as a vaccination in adults with glioblastoma multiforme (primary or secondary).
In this study, the investigators assessed the effect of Cetuximab in combination with chemotherapy in the treatment of unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer.
Collect the real clinical background of advanced colorectal cancer c of China.
1. To determine whether a combined nutritional support program and exercise-based prehabilitation is superior to nutritional support alone in increasing functional recovery and reducing post-operative morbidity after surgery for HPB malignancy. 2. To understand which measures of immediate surgical recovery are sensitive to prehabilitation interventions and predict change in later outcome measures.
Purpose of the study: AIM 1 Prospectively collect pre-operative (fMRI, DTI, MEG) and intra-operative mapping data in patients with intra-axial brain tumors to assess how well each modality predicts the location of eloquent brain function. In addition, each modality will be compared with the other. AIM 2 Assess reorganization of eloquent brain function and plasticity in patients with intra-axial brain tumors. This will be accomplished by prospectively collecting post-operative mapping studies and neuropsychological tests to compare them to prior mapping studies as stated above.
Examine neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) formation, in relation to other neutrophil functions like chemotaxis, superoxide production, hydrogen peroxide production, and the presence of myeloperoxidase, in pediatric patients undergoing chemotherpy for solid and hematological malignancies. This data could shed new light on the mechanism responsible for the increased susceptibility to infection among these patients and aid in improving their prophylactic antimicrobial treatment. NETs formation against tumor cell lines and their ability to kill tumor cells will also be examined. The finding of NETs activity against tumor cells could have a major contribution to the investigators understanding of the function of the immune system against cancer.
